I have seen the shows and yes in the beginning they get food delivered from this service for 10 days and I checked it out very expensive. But if the results are real I think it can be very motivational. The chef episode had a chef with triglicerides over 600 and 10 days as a vegan dropped that number unbelievable. I know we have to do the work but I did find it motivating. Roth's wife is a vegan nutritionist.

I haven't seen it and don't plan to watch. Reality shows=very little reality.

I haven't watched it, I swore off TV a few year ago. But I also question these things. I haven't seen it so I can' say but on The Biggest Loser - those people are put in in these artificial situations that they cannot replicate when they get home to real life....and it apparently seriously damages their metabolism to do this - so they gain it back and more. Not a good thing, I almost feel like it is unethical!

I watched it. Since the Biggest Loser has gone off the air and so many claims have been made, I have sworn off all those quick weight lose shows. Plain and simple, you have to find the best way to eat for you. The foods that keep you at a healthy weight and that make you feel like you can eat this way the rest of your life. Also, you can't keep a healthy steady weight without exercise. Again, find something that works for you and that you can do the rest of your life.
I did take away some solid things from the show. His "inspirational flash cards" could help everyone, and not only when it comes to weight lose. It's common sense that is sometimes hard to find when we feel defeated. I might watch the show again just to see where it goes. Thanks for the link!

Has anyone seen it? Thoughts?

I really wanted to be on board with this show. I really did. But first, it's an ad for a meal delivery service instead of focusing on creating/planning/cooking your own food. And second, while it starts off with all this talk about addressing the root cause of weight gain (aka food addiction and emotional eating) it really fails to dig into any of that aspect in any depth. These very overweight people eat only the (whole foods, plant-based! yay!) food provided to them for 90 days, start exercising again, and they lose weight. Duh. What happens when they're left on their own on day 91+? The've already done Biggest Loser, lost tons of weight, and gained it all back when they didn't have a trainer and nutritionist bossing them around. I think this will end up the same for most of these people.

Maybe I'm just cynical. I'd love to hear your thoughts!
