I eat according to the End of Dieting by Joel Fuhrman. Which can actually look quite like a diet unless you retrain your taste buds. For me it is about fueling to get away from cravings. Food as fuel not as a drug. But I am human. So I indulge now and then.

It is an algorithm. Over time making the best choices. Show up every day.

I do agree.

But being vegan doesn't automatically mean instant weight loss as many perceive....hence the 1200 plan. or weight watchers. It IS about portion control. I think theres a difference there other than "diets". It's more of a learning curve of eating.

and 2...I absolutely agree that nutrition isn't 100%. I've changed everything about my eating only to gain. I HAVE TO MOVE. and A LOT!!! even then, the scale trickles. But, it is what it is. I am a hippo after all!

I completely agree with OP. People fall into the "diet trap" thinking that if they follow X plan, it will solve all their issues. Its easy to get fat, but its hard to get thin for a reason - breaking habits is extremely hard, and even harder to form new ones.

I see my plant based diet as a " way of life". Its hard, and I'm still fighting those cheese cravings, but with every bite of food that's wholesome and plant based I move my life in a better direction

I have been at this weight loss thing for a long time! I have tried many different plans. In my opinion, you can't go on a "diet". You have to find something that you can live on the rest of your life. Watching what you eat, portion control, and knowing what your trigger foods are seem to be the way to successfully control your weight. I am endomorph too and I find low sugar (less than 10 mg per serving), low fat and my trigger point, NO chocolate are keeping me on the right track. I cannot stress the importance of exercise with any way you choose to lose weight. These two have to be hand in hand. These are just my thoughts, and I wish you a lifetime of success in your journey!

DIET IS A FOUR LETTER WORD!!!!

We are constantly creating our "karma" or destiny through our intentions, thoughts and deeds in this moment. It is achieved through countless deliberate acts of selflessness.

It's hard to be happy with others if we are not happy with ourselves.

Just keep on moving and you'll get there.

If you ever want to feel good about yourself, go out and help someone else!

Happy Herbivore used to have a 1200 cal meal plan that I lost weight with WHILE exercising. Now her meal plans (although stil 1200) are more laxed in just lunch dinner type things. I'm still on it and back to exercising regularly. I am also endomorph and I think it's the no fat/low fat that's doing the trick. I've done the Atkins, south beach etc. good luck in finding what works for YOU
