To be honest, I do a mix. I make vegan dishes and sometimes have to eat what I make the rest of the family. I'm not going to beat myself up over it because I know I can't do anything about it now. But as soon as things settle down in my life, I will do better. That shouldn't be too long now. I'm concentrating on educating my family and friends. That way, I'll probably do more for animals than eating every single meal perfectly. I live with an elderly and sick mother, and things get crazy around here. Plus I live in a rural area and am starting to get more groceries shipped to our home, which helps.

Nope. Sadly it just is a matter of willpower and choice. I cook my meals completely separate from family's. Sometimes. Hubby cooks theirs so I can cook mine. It's nice those days when we're both in the kitchen.

Hello all! I recently rejoined Sparkpeople, and am trying to get back to being a vegetarian. I was veggie for about 8 or so years, but got lazy and pregnant. The whole time I was pregnant, I found myself craving hamburgers and steaks... so, I gave my body what it wanted, with every intention of going back to veg after the baby was born. Then I was breastfeeding, and my doctor recommended against a dietary change until she was weaned. Well, that "baby" is now four years old, and I'm out of excuses. My only problem now is that my hubby and kiddo have grown accustomed to eating meat, and frankly, it's cheaper and easier to fix. I'm struggling to get back into the groove. I try cooking my veggie meal and adding meat to theirs, but we are so busy that that extra step is a real chore. Any suggestions?
