My doc put me on a very strict no-salt, no-sugar diet, and I can't do artificial sweeteners. I use Jif protein powder. It's great! Just peanuts, no additives. Wonderful in smoothies. And if I want some protein without the added fat in peanut butter, I can reconstitute it.

How about a hemp protein powder? The only ingredient in most of these vegan powders is just hemp protein.

I bought a chocolate pea protein from whole foods, can't remember the name, but it was gross. I also bought a unflavored pea protein, its ok. If your not allergic to peanut butter, I would invest in the powdered peanut butter, I bought mine at Sams Club

Whole Foods and Sprouts and other health food grocery stores usually sell single size packets. This is a good way to try different brands and flavors without investing in a whole container.

Discipline is simply choosing between what you want now and what you want most.

I really like my hemp protein powder that I got at Whole Foods. I've tried the rice protein powder before and I don't really like that one.

I've tried and enjoyed both Orgain Organic Protein Powder (Chocolate) and also Garden of Life RAW Organic Protein (Chocolate).

I used them as a supplement versus a meal replacement, and incorporated them into a veggie smoothie which served 3 (my household size).

Currently we're using Nutiva Organic Hemp Protein Powder.

I tried Trader Joe's Hemp protein powder and didn't care for it at all. Too gritty, didn't dissolve in my blender. Weird green color, if I put any red strawberries in my smoothie it turned a yucky brown. I went back to and am sticking with the whey protein powder. I like Trader Joe's inexpensive prices, all other powders just cost too much for me. The whey proteins are packed with vitamins and minerals as well.

My favorite is Vega One, it's not just protein powder, it's also a vitamin supplement. We have it every day in our morning smoothies (blended with a banana, blueberries, agave, and almond milk.)

Another option is Garden of Eden Raw Protein.

I got a protein powder at GNC made from peas. I really do not care for any protein powder, though I've tried several. The ones that aren't vegan make me sick to my stomach. They probably were made of egg white. Often eggs will make me sick. Personally I just add a good tbsp. of peanut butter to my smoothies.

Hemp protein powder is a complete protein having all nine essential amino acids. It is green and it is gritty.
