Mine and my naturopath's opinion. Atkins overdoes the protein.. a woman only needs 30-35 grams a day. Any more is hard on the kidneys and is just peed away. If you have to pay for protein powder that stuff is not good for you. Stick with high nutrition density low calorie foods that fill you up. The weight will fall off. Stick with Veggies, beans, fruits and whole grains at only one meal a day.

When you do Atkins you crave carbohydrates and are incredibly uncomfortable all the time thinking about them.. It made me crazy.. I would go on these carb binges because of it.. and would gain faster than I lost.

Eating a balanced plant strong diet. I ate all I wanted until I was comfortably full, lost weight and never craved anything.. If I got hungry between meals I would make myself a bowl of vegetable soup of eat a small potato with salsa on it and I still lost weight.. I am thinner now than I was in the 4th grade. I grew to my current height in 4th grade and weighed 143 lbs. Today I weighed 115..

if you want to try atkins and be vegan, you can do eco-atkins.
results are fast when you're starting out (as a vegan) anyway.

Carb cycling actually worked great for me. Carbs for breakfast every day, but every other day you don't eat any additional carbs. Carb days you really limit your fats (so no nut butters on carb days). Also, you're supposed to eat every three hours to keep your metabolism stoked. Plus you drink half your body weight in ounces of water. It's a plan created by body builders and tweaked by Chris Powell of Extreme Weight Loss fame.

Yeah, I know, it sounds very fad-diet-esque. But I'll do it for the month leading up to any events to ensure losing a few pounds.

What you do every day matters more than what you do every once in a while.

Atkins is very unhealthy. If you want to lose weight healthfully and quickly check out the book The Starch Solution by John McDougall.

Hi all! I know that trying to lose weight too quickly is a bad move, but I'm trying to trim up as much as possible (gotta be a bridesmaid in May), and I'm trying to figure out whether WW or low carb will get me further (with plenty of exercise, of course!). Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on this? Thank you!
