I mean really what is 'lean meat' Probably as healthy for you as diet soda

It takes 3 weeks for you to notice your body changing
8 weeks for your friends to notice and 12 weeks for the rest of the world to notice
Give it 12 weeks don’t quit

I absolutely agree. From reading China Study, Forks/Knives, and trusting my vegan doctor, I personally agree that a plant-based diet is the best! :)

I guess I'm just thinking back to all the YouTube videos by various plant-strong doctors who reveal that this has been recommended for YEARS, but it never gets into the guidelines.

Some people think the “plant-based whole foods diet” is extreme. Half a million a year will have their chests opened up and a vein taken from their leg and sewn onto their coronary artery. Some people would call that extreme.

Thanks for responding, Aspiring Vegan!

I re-read my post, and see that it may have been somewhat confusing...had a weird brain-moment and misspoke.

I was wondering if there is any other news source that reports lean meat as not being listed in the proposed guidelines.

I've only found other articles that mention a proposed decrease in meat consumption.

Any suggestions/guidance are appreciated :)

Morgenstern, I agree. That's what I was saying. These are the proposed guidelines. We have yet to see if they'll ever actually issue these guidelines.

It's certainly interesting. I checked Washington Post's article, which only states that the guidelines may suggest reducing meat intake.
Can anyone find another source that states that the final report no longer includes “lean meat” on a list of healthful foods being recommended?

I am having trouble finding another credible source, or even the final report. (isn't that not released yet?)

Any help/education is welcome to me. Thanks! emoticon

Just when I had begun to think that the meat industry owns the U. S. Dietary Guidelines, new guidelines came out that make me wonder. For the first time, lean meat is NOT listed as a healthy source of protein. And the meat industry is furious. cok.net/blog/2015/01/dietary-guideli
