Oh god... I just weighed my pasta before dinner. Has the madness started? I'm also buying all my prior meaty treats with lower calorie/fat turkey-based options. Danish meatballs are amazing and delightful, but turkey meatballs are surprisingly okay too! And don't get me started about the joys of our turkey bacon and turkey salami....

I weigh everything too!

I do it because serving size and portion control was/is my big problem, my "issue" so to speak. I need to learn to eat proper amounts of food and not copious amounts, and weighing and measuring is the only way I could think of.

I have a special Breakfast Measuring Cup! :-)

strange spark thing...I weigh food...it is kind of weird, but I have a digital scale in my kitchen.

I wish when spark foods list stuff like "pasta cooked" and have a 2 oz. serving they specified whether it is 2 oz. before cooking or 2 oz. after cooking. The water weight on that really skew up us with a scale.

Oh well

I am going to revive this thread, mainly so I can post about the weird Spark-motivated things I do to people who will understand and laugh with me instead of at me.

I am working hard to get into the habit of photographing everything I eat when I am away from computers, so I can log it accurately later. I take pictures with my phone, and delete them every evening to make room for the following day's pictures.

I almost always make the food pose for the camera, before taking the picture...

I frequently have the whole "Who's stronger, you or me?" conversation with junk food. I broke a smoking habit (after 13 years, I've been quit for 54 days), so I feel confident I can stay away from junk food.

I also find freedom and joy in tossing out junk food.

I was making crepes for my daughters for breakfast this morning, and two stuck to the pan and scorched slightly. I tossed those buggers into the sink because they were not perfect and felt no guilt bout throwing them away, a year ago I would have scarfed them down myself.

I never eat until I have written down my meal either on SP or a notebook for later input into SP. :D

Way to go Chili! I haven't gone that wild, but I have let things like cookies go stale on the counter rather than eat them. Once they are hard as rocks, the are no longer temptations!

Last night I shoved the leftovers of a frosted chocolate cake down the garbage disposal, piece by piece, to keep it from tempting me further.

It was surprisingly satisfying. I may have to do that again some day
