I'm geeking out about Riverdale. They made Archie comics noir! I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would!

I'm specifically geeking out about Jughead's Whoopie hat. I really like the look of the knitted one in the show, but I'm also learning about the old felt originals. Yay, fedora recycling?

So excited for Dr. Strange!!!! Never heard of him, nor read the comics... but the visuals look amazing, and I love Benedict! And the Marvel movies have been fun, at least.

I haven't gotten much tv time lately, but, I did pick up a post-apocalyptic novel called Dies The Fire, on the recommendation of a friend of mine.
He says one of the characters reminds him of me, and I'm pretty curious to see who he means. lol.

The only problem is that it is part of a series... down the rabbit hole! lol.

You mean "The Fractured But Hole?" Typical South Park title. It's going to be a parody/satire of comic books and comic based movie franchises in particular, if I read things right.

YES! Ok, so it's SO Not for everyone.... but South Park made a video game, Stick of Truth, that I thought was fun and hilarious (if you like SP's stupid humor... which, in the right mood, I do.)

Just learned they've made a sequel! Woot!

I heart Breaking Bad! I was definitely an addict of that show - I'd stay up as late as my eyes could handle, falling asleep on my computer watching, then still have to get up 1-2 hours later to get to work ;-) I think I've watched the entire series 4 times now...? Yeah...

I haven't even heard of Jessica Jones - but a quick google search doesn't make it sound all that appealing...? And I didn't care for Krysten Ritter in BB. So, not sure I could enjoy a show based around her.

It's not necessarily a "geeky" thing - but I'm looking forward to Deep Horizon opening this weekend! Excited to get the next new Big Bang Theory episode, and next How to Get Away with Murder episode... and counting down the weeks till Walking Dead comes back :-P

Thank god, I was feeling like a bad nerd for not loving Jessica Jones! Everyone I know is enamored and I'm just kinda lukewarm on it.

I'm on a re-read Pratchett kick, myself. Might be coupled with a binge-watch-ghost-shows thing. I can't help it - fall is spooky times!

I am getting back into Breaking Bad. I am almost done the series, being halfway through the last season. Also trying to get into Jessica Jones, but it's just not that interesting to me.

Babble away! ;-) My hubby LOVED Colassus, so now we'll have to check out Ico! Hadn't heard of it.

I was glad to read that Chekov won't be re-cast my a new actor. I know he's a great character, but I loved Yelchin, and think it's a nice honor to him to just let it end there. I'm going to get sad every time he's on screen!!

Have a great weekend, and hope you get to enjoy the movie soon :)

I have, as well as that developer's previous game, Ico. They are both brilliant and not typical at all, which is probably why they're considered "cult" games. I'm very much looking forward to their next game, The Last Guardian which has been in development for many years. I think it was supposed to come out for the PS 2 originally.

I'm starting to babel. Monster Hunter is similar, but much more of an action game with R.P.G. elements. They're isn't really a campaign. Just a series of quests you take on, grinding to gather resources to improve your equipment, encountering bigger and bigger beasts, etc.

I'm not sure when I'm going to get the chance to see the movie, but hopefully soon. And they're already leaking details about the next one!

We're playing 5th ed. D&D right now (Curse of Strad) but we did Call of Cthulhu a couple of years ago. We've discovered horror games produce the most humour.

I actually managed to get a group together for a little Call of Cthulhu gaming recently. It was the first time most of them had played anything other than D and D and they really liked it. In fact, they're still talking about it.

I'm running one of the introductory scenarios from the 7th Ed. Keeper's Screen, and we're using the Quick-Start rules. The group really liked the BRP rule set more than the 3.5 Edition rule set. Especially when it came to character creation. That took a lot less time and was less confusing for them.

Been a few months since any postings here... but for my DH it's all about Magic the Gathering. He wants to go to the Greater Toronto Area for a tournament this summer, but with a 16 month old it's hard. Plus I hate driving in the GTA, it scares me.

Otherwise we're catching up on movies and TV shows. No time to play many video games lately, boo.

I just realized Pi Day is coming up! I always make a bunch of nerdy pies with things like Serenity, the Hyrulian crest, and so on carved into the crusts and then give them away to people I care about.

I'm not sure what to put on the pies this year. BB-8, maybe, and Lavos, but I'll probably make the rest of it up as I go along, based on who I decide to give pies to.

My son has plenty of friends that are still into Pokémon. I won't let him play any "M" rated games. He's also discovered chess, thanks to Big Bang Theory, again.

Today was Pokémon Day at a "national video game retail chain," so I took all my youngsters to get Pokémon related goodies. My girls opted for stuffies, and my son picked out the Charizard amiibo. Oh, and their latest obsession is Yo Kai Watch, so they all picked up the watches. Spoiled little buggers.

I'd love to see Deadpool but will probably have to wait until it comes out on disk. My wife and I have crappy schedules so it's nearly impossible to get together for a date night. My son wants to see it too, but his only working knowledge of Deadpool comes from the Lego videogames. LOL

What personally has me geeking out is my D and D group getting together to take on a cavern full of goblins and a few other surprises later today.

Geekgirl - so true, but ten-year-olds are cruel. I'm perpetually a season behind on GoT. I love it, but I'm behind.

This week I'm geeking out about Deadpool - I haven't gotten to see it yet, but I am looking forward to the shattering of the fourth wall so much. I'm also stuck on Star Wars. I won a copy of one of the new books, and I'm expecting it to arrive any day now. Reading them is going to be my work-out reward for the near future.

Ahhh Battleofendor... 10 is NOT to old for Pokemon.. neither is very nearly 38 emoticon I hope your little brother doesn't let the others get him down. I love Pokemon. I love Harry Potter. I love lots of things that are supposed to be "just for kids" I can't have kids myself sooo I say I don't ever have to grow up.

This week though I am waiting (impatiently) for the season 6 Game of Thrones trailer!! I am hoping SOON. Until then I am watching YouTube ASoIF/GoT histories and theories. I can never find enough!!

As An Onoya said in Relife.... 17 for LIFE!!! I'm just a big kid and a geek girl at heart!

Oh, man, my little brother (also 10, though recently turned) is in the same boat re: Pokemon. He is so mad that he can't be a Pokemon Trainer for real that he wants to figure out how to invent them - that's legitimately something he has expressed interest in learning how to do. Like, if he grows up and finds a way to bio-engineer Pokemon, I would not be surprised.

On the other hand, so many of his friends are in to Halo and Call of Duty and so on, and really make fun of the kids who like "little kid games" that he's really shy about it. I don't know when ten became too old for Pokemon, Adventure Time, and Splatoon, but judging by his classmates that's a thing.

I'm geeking out about the fact that I managed to get my pre-order in for the New 3DS Pokémon 20th anniversary edition before they were all sold out. It's for my son's 10th birthday. He's a huge Pokémon fan, and he's always got a DS model of some type in his hands. I just don't know if I'll be able to wait until June to give it to him. :)

It's been all The Force Awakens with me since December, so this week I'm doing something new and re-watching Gundam Wing. I've got an old model kit for Deathscythe I've been meaning to put together and add to my collection, and this should be exactly the motivation I need.

I stopped collecting Magic Cards shortly after the Ice Age expansion, and I still feel the call to pick it back up again at times.

And given the last post on this thread was 2015, I'm going to say I'm in to zombies, or reanimating the dead, or at least dead threads, too.

Brody- I used to play Magic a long time ago. My daughter's classmates play Pokemon and we went to a birthday party a couple of months ago where the kid was over the moon at getting a rare Pokemon card. It was the highlight of his party for him. I do understand about getting sucked in though. That's how I got back into Lego.

My husband and I both had our old Legos from when we were kids, but our daughter wasn't really showing much interest in them until the Lego Friends series came out a couple of years ago. And face it Lego is better quality than MegaBloks. Megabloks has Barbie and she liked that, but the Lego Friends were better quality. Now she's doing the Elves series too. So while we are spending all this time in the Lego stores and the Lego aisles my husband and I started picking up sets and pieces for ourselves too. This xmas I'll have more Lego under the tree for me than for anyone else in the house.

So no, not doing Pokemon but bonding with my 9 year old girl over stuff I thought I'd outgrown... definitely.

There are similarities. Instead of Lands you gather Energy that can be generic or matches your particular Pokémon. Grass or Stone types for example. And you only use one Pokémon at a time.

I'm a 41 year old man... and I play Pokémon. Well, I play it with my kids. It started with the cards. They needed someone to help them figure out the rules, etc. Then came Black Friday. There I was, looking at the discounted video games. What do I see? Pokémon Conquest for $10? I've been playing it almost non-stop. My 9 year old son has it for his 3DS as well and can't wait to link up with me. I hope there are other adults out there with the same secret. LOL

The new show 'Dark Matter' on the SyFy channel. I love it. Runs similar to 'Firefly' in a weird way. Not parallel but a strong 1st cousin.

WOW, do I HATE the Starship Troopers movie. I LOVED the book SO MUCH, I just couldn't take what they decided to do with it, even though I objectively could have liked the movie if it wasn't supposed to be Starship Troopers.

And I'm so happy it's new comic book day, even though it's none of my absolute FAVES this week - looking forward to A-Force #2, Runaways #1, Harley Quinn and Power Girl #1, Martian Manhunter #1, Ms Marvel #16. I have missed Runaways. I'm happy to see Nico in A-Force.

I'm not sure I'd rave over it, but it was definitely entertaining. I'd say it's in line with the first one a lot. Kind of silly, scary, and fun all together.

I have been very hesitant to see it. It didn't seem like it would be very good. Now I am thinking I might watch it since the two of you enjoyed it and everyone seems to be raving about it.

Today is another chance to get it right!

When in doubt, go workout.

Saw it yesterday with my friend! Lots of fun :) Some things that made me scratch my head and go, "what sort of security expert would do that in their park??" but you know, you set that sort of thing aside and just enjoy the ride!

Loved it, loved the little nods to the original, and expect I'll see it a second time with the hubby.

Thinking of going to see Jurassic World tonight or tomorrow night... if it's good, then I'll geek out about it for this next week ;-)

Oh Orphan Black! I have been wanting to watch that show but I may hold out until series end so I can Marathon watch the entire series!

I am currently geeking out on a cross stitch that I am making. It is a "Home Sweet Home" cross stitch but the home is the castle at the end of the minor levels in the original NES Mario Brothers. I cannot wait to finish and frame it for a geeky welcome to my home!

Game wise I am on a small hiatus with all my personal junk in my life. Plan on getting back on track by playing FFIV as soon as my slow internet finishes downloading it.

I also plan on getting re-involved in a tabletop campaign via roll20 again. I pulled out but they said they would welcome me back!

Whew! Long list!

There are a bunch of Terry Prachett books for the Kindle on sale at Amazon for 99 cents! I confess - I just binged on those. Which is way better than binging on chocolate, right?

I made the mistake of watching "Starship Troopers' on SyFy this weekend - how could they do that to a Heinlein book?! It was awful, and I am not all that picky about movies. I mean, I even liked Twilight a little.

Playing WoW, as usual. ;)

Just finished my binge marathon of New Girl - not particularly in the geek realm, but light-hearted silliness. More looking forward to the end of the month when Season 5 of Teen Wolf starts! (yeah, that's my guilty pleasure. But it actually gets pretty good!)

Been having fun writing a piece of fantasy fiction, but hit a big ol' writers block with some key plot points, so been letting my mind swirl around with that, trying to solve it. Silly brain!

And have been waiting eagerly to get back to playing Temple of Osiris, hopefully can make time this weekend!

For me it's Orphan Black, which I just discovered this week!! My friends have been recommending it for ages and now I finally understand! My husband and I binge watched the first season last week, and this week we're spending our date night watching a bunch of season 2.

I'm also super excited about Sense8, the new Netflix series by the Wachowskis (who did The Matrix, among other things). That'll surely be our next show.

Are you geeking out about anything in TV, movies, gaming, etc?
