We both want to see Interstellar and the latest Hobbit installment, but we never have a weekend off to go to the movies.

Nanowrimo Eve is on 10/31 for those of us insane enough to write a novel in a month.

I most likely won't see it until it's on Netflix. Not because I don't want to, but we have a 2-year-old and don't get out much. Plus ticket prices are just not in our budget right now.

Exercise is my Prozac.

So, who has made plans to go see the Hobbit when it comes out? I am doing the Hobbit Marathon on the 16th of December and watching all three Hobbit movies! Wahoo!

We're having Thanksgiving at my brother-in-law's house. BIL's husband is making the turkey and a couple of sides, I'm making cornbread dressing and deviled eggs, and we'll pick up a dessert (or maybe hubby will make his famous apple pie). Should be a good time. That reminds me, I should text them and see if I can/should make/bring anything else...

Just call me La. Most everyone else does.

We're not doing anything this year. We're not having anyone over so it won't be different than any other Thursday other than the husband is off. I may make a stuffed seitan roast, since I have all the ingredients (mostly, I just need fresh mushrooms) and some dressing and potatoes, but I'm not going to stress about it.

Exercise is my Prozac.

So what great nerd/geek ideas do you all have for celebrating Thanksgiving? I am celebrating early on Tue. I am planning on doing an entire meal with diet friendly recipes and not telling anyone. I just wonder if anyone will notice to lack of fat and sugar, and ridiculous calories. :-)

17 December is the anniversary of the Wright Brothers' first flight (1903).
12 April anniversary of first manned space flight by Yuri Gagarin (1961).
20 July anniversary of moon landing by Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong (1969).

I think these should be celebrated, since they are milestones that mankind should be proud of applying science (aka, "geekitude") in order to achieve. Also, as an aerospace engineer, I'm pretty partial to celebrating flights.

Well, there's always the follow up to Star Wars day: May 5th Revenge of the Fifth :)

And Ada Lovelace Day. It's on Oct.14th in 2014, but it wobbles a bit from year to year.
