Depends on the movie, and especially the remake.

7 Days in may -- The original with Kirk Douglas & Burt Lancaster (he, of the industrial scenery chewing school of acting) is one of my all-time favorites. However, I actually liked the remake with Forrest Whittaker, even better.

Miracle on 34 Street -- The original was perfect; all others insult the "vehicle".

I love old movies especially horror ones. I get so excited when remakes are done becuase they are keeping the old ones alive. The remake of Halloween was a masterpiece. The remake of Nightmare on Elm Street that many people hated was very good too. Im excited about the new Carey remake and Evil Dead that is coming soon!

If it's a good story, I get excited to see it. Though, it will never replace the original in my heart. Take the remake of willy wonka with Johnny Depp... That will never be as good as the first one in my opinion. I like seeing how other directors may interpret stories, and updated effects.. but it has to be a classic story to work... I like Peter Jackson's version of the hobbit better than the Rankin/Bass version.. maybe. ;)

The goonies was the first movie I saw in the theater and still one of my favorites. Not sure what they do with sloth today...

It seems like movie producers are running out of ideas so a lot of movies are being remade. .
Judge Dredd, Robocop, Neverending Story, Evil Dead. .

Whats your thoughts on this? Do you welcome an upgraded view to classics or do you think some movies don't need to be remade?

I don't know if this is true or not but we may see a new version of The Goonies. .

I hope they don't get rid of the Truffle Shuffle.
