I have looked at the phone pda combos and have been very disappointed. It seems like alot of the screen real estate has be lost for the addition of the keyboard (which seems too small to be really useful).

The EEEPC looks promising. But like most geeks I would want to take my fav software over and I doubt there is a port for it on that platform.

Far more disappointed that no matter how many iPAQs I try, none of them come close to the functionality, form factor and battery life of my trusty old Psion 5mx, which I still regard as the pinnacle of mobile computing!

I've been living with a smartphone/PDA combo for a couple of years now, and the short of it is that I still use the Moleskine far more often as a mobile device than I do either of the others (which basically now are just used for calendaring/games/contacts). This is why I am so excited by the new generation of supersizeUMPC or subsubnotebook devices like the EeePC and the new HP. What I want is a computer I can hold in the palm of my hand and *type* on. Stylus entry is a real dealbreaker for me, I've tried very hard to like it, and whilst I am proficient at it now, I can't say I enjoy it!

I am not too disappointed.

I did internal tech support on the handspring visors we picked up 6 years or so ago. Our program ultimately saw the writing on the wall and realized that the palm pilots will eventually be replaced with cell phones with the same features. So we are phasing them out.

So do I get disappointed, no I have a handheld computer that has my graduate thesis on it. I don't worry about palm pilots anymore.

Anyone else disappointed that Palm has not released any new handhelds since the TX?

I would love to see Palm release a PDA with dual screens and at least 1 gig storage.

What is your favorite handheld?
