I'm one of those weirdos who'll run 5 miles in a downpour. Rain doesn't stop me. Wind will slow me down and occasionally make me reluctant to go out for a run though. Thank goodness for the recumbent stationary bike and Spark Videos!

That's a great investment so you can continue your exercise no matter what the weather might be.
Good to know those are available. emoticon

The only thing that really takes a hit with the rain for me is outdoor biking-- and wind does it too. BUT, I invested in a "trackstand" trainer years ago (you back your bike into it and clamp down the rear wheel), and that allows me to ride in the garage and watch DVDs. Not quite as fast as outdoors, but better than nothing, and it keeps you in shape for your own bike.

I have 2 days a week at the gym, and the rain doesn't affect that. For running, I try to keep my sister's mantra in mind (she's up in Oregon, where I hail from): you'll never overheat in the rain.

I.e., it's still better than running in Sacramento's summers!

If you walk for exercise, an umbrella will do wonders. Shoes and clothes dry, and blow-dryers take care of the rest. That's one way to look at it!

One day at a time...

So glad you have a sheltered place to walk on these rainy/windy days. It does make it a bit better to stay on track. Glad to see you are 'losing it'.
You are looking good.

Every work day at lunch I walk. If the weather isn't great we walk in a covered parking garage. But the weather doesn't make it easy to want to do more than that.

I have been working hard the last couple weeks to increase the intensity of my workouts, and it's feeling great. My pants are starting to feel a little looser this week, but I'm afraid to get excited till I get on the scale!

I'm doing the Zoo Zoom on Sunday...the last time I did a 5K was last May, and I came in just under 45 minutes...I'm hoping to beat that this weekend!

A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst, a spark, that creates extraordinary results. "

I've just decided that eating crap isn't worth it. I can't work off all the crap I want to eat. So, why eat it. I allow myself three to four little treats each week to stay on track.

No matter what, I try to walk for an hour a day. I haven't been running for awhile, but I've kept up walking.

Did your good intentions in March get 'shot down' by the return to cold and wet weather? How can we help each other get back on track? If you were among the lucky, tell us how you maintained.
