Not sure what part of the city you live in, but there is something called Sacramento Works located in several locations. If you go in there they can try and help you find a job. Some employers go directly through them and do not list their jobs through advertising.

It is difficult right now. My husband and I got married a few years ago and we met by internet, he originally lived in the Bay Area. Because the economy went down hill; he has kept his job in the Bay Area and he commutes that distance; but we are just thankful he still has a job! A large portion of his company was laid off and so far... we've been okay. But you never know from day to day.

I've been looking to change jobs with no luck. No many openings. Craigslist is a place to check listings, though I don't know if they're all legitimate jobs. The other job sites seem to mostly be ads for recruiters or schools.

Geez, I know how you feel - I have a BS in structural engineering and w/ the economy, nothing is being built = no new jobs. I am starting to become restless and want an anything job too just to get out of the house! Not to mention the paycheck! I even took the CBEST yesterday to try to become a substitute teacher. I have to wait a month for my results before I can apply for a credential.

Try craigslist too - there are a lot of new daily listings in sac. Good luck to you!

Be Fabulous!!

Have you checked with local temp agencies? Most are aimed at office work but I understand there are some that are trade specific. Either way, as SMASHY says, it's a paycheck...and take it from a lot of first hand experience, WAY easier on the body than waitressing.

Last I heard, Walmart, Kohl's and Target had 'some' part time openings. Not exactly veterinary work, but it would be a pay check.

Check with the census bureau - they've been holding tests throughout the area and although it's only a 3 month job, it pays $15 an hour.

I love this website and since I started, my life has pretty much been revolved around it. I can;t wait to track my food and enter my fitness minutes or see what someone has posted on my page. But I'm realizing that I need to restart my life.

I was wondering if anyone had any leads on work in sacramento? I've been looking for months with no luck.
I started with veterinary clinics (I am a veterinary assistant) and had a couple interviews and no parade. Then I started with pet stores with no luck. Now I'm pretty much looking for anything. I was thinking about a waitressing job. I don't have much experience in that field but I know its not beyond my abilities and I'm getting desperate. I have about a month until My reserve account runs dry and I'll be faced with moving in with the grandparents lol

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
