I had a hard time tracking initially, I felt like I was starving and deprived. But I quickly adjusted to the new portions. If you can, start your day by tracking all the foods you intend to eat that day, sort of like your personal menu. You can also do this before bed to prepare for the next day. This avoids impulsive eating.

You should also look around on your campus dining website, often they have the weekly/monthly meals already planned and available to you. The nutritional value may even be available to you, just take notice of the portion sizes. If not, you can estimate the nutritional value in the SP tracker. Lastly, you may even contact the head of the dining hall and see if they are willing to provide you with the information you need, they might even direct you to their healthier options.

At Cal Poly, where I went, I emailed the dining hall requesting certain foods, and low and behold, they would be on that night's menu in the all-you-CARE-to-eat cafeteria! We also had a whole section of foods that were vegan and very healthy and fresh. Try to include a large salad every night, I lost so much weight my freshman year! Too bad I gained a lot the following year due to stress!

Sorry for the long post! Hope I've helped a little!

I GOOGLE.....nutritional value of ...carrots (?) etc.
it will give you what you want to know.

Cravings will get better, the longer you go without the sweets (or whatever) it does get better. The more often you grab a celery stick or carrot..or an apple.. the sooner they go away. As for OVER EATING?
You just have to remind yourself that one serving is plenty.. and fill up on veggies.. Drink plenty of water.....

I'm having a hard time cutting my craving and i'm beginning to over eat; getting back to my old habits.
And if that isn't bad enough I'm having a hard time finding the nutritional informational about the food in my colleges dinning commons....How do y'all cut the cravings, avoid over eating & what do you do when you don't know the nutritional value?

Thanks for your help.
