Hi! My name is Jessi, I am a Mom of a micro preemie. I had an emergency C\S at 25 weeks because of complications. My lil Zoe Leia is home now after being in the NICU for 4 months. We are just starting to get some normalcy again. I think now is as good a time as ever to get fit. I want to be able to run around with my peanut when she starts walking. I work at night so it's proving to be quite the task to eat well with so much temptation. I gained 60 lbs in my pregnancy that I want gone!

Hey everyone! I had some weight to lose before the baby and now I have more. Its tough because between pumping and going back to work I feel like I have no time. And when I do get time I want to spend it sleeping! I am also looking for a buddy to help keep me accountable.

Hello everyone. I have an almost 11 month year old and I weight less now that I did before I had him but I look bigger. I have a horrible overhand since I had a c-section and I'm looking for some encouragement as I'm finding it hard to find then energy to work out or cook something healthy when I'm so hungry I could just eat the kitchen sink.

Hello! I am new to this group, I am 21 years old with a 2 year old son. I have just 10 lbs to go to my pre-pregnancy weight from him, but another 20 lbs to my weight from before a miscarriage I had before him, and another 10 lbs on top of that. So that brings my total goal weight loss to about 40 lbs. I have started doing wii fit and drinking meal replacement shakes for breakfast and lunch. Any one else on a similar plan?

Hello!

Well I am new to this group along with being a new mom whose little one is now 2 months old. What I am not new to is SP. I lost weight here back in 2012, nearly 40lbs, but it slowly started creeping back in 2013 with getting married and buying a house. When I was finally getting back on track I found out I was pregnant. Unfortunately I gained way more than I, or my midwife, expected, over 50lbs! A lot of it was baby and when I finally weighed myself at home after getting back from the hospital I was already down to 166lbs from weighing in at 193lbs 3 days before the birth.

I expect this time around to be much more slow going due not only from having a baby in general, but also from having a c-section. And I am thinking it's going to be interesting as well considering I have a newborn to tend to. Glad to find teams like this for help and inspiration!

New mom, new life, new goals.

My baby came with a lot of extras, including me having to quit my job to stay home with her, stress is my best friend these days lol. For me my best stress reducers are Yoga (in an empty house) or a bike ride. I make this happen, if the weather is nice I plop the baby in my hubbies arms and say seeya! Or I say hey take the baby over to see your mom. Sometimes its just that half hour of nobody needing me that does the trick.
As someone that quit smoking a few years back I found a zen garden, or a cup of tea so soothing and relaxing.
Slings are awesome by the way, I was even able to take my little one hiking the other day, what a workout packing around the extra weight.

Thank you for this suggestion - by the way it is more than two cents advice emoticon since I really not think about how to be more prepare about meal plan. I actually forgot to include that in the list to do. I am going to hunt for healthy recipes that are easy and quick to do. Sparkpeople site is perfect place to find those.
I am going to get baby sling or carrier so that I could still have baby bond time and at same time able to do exercise by walk around - that what my family suggested. Hope that would help me to work in at least 10 minutes of workout on busy day....
I am going to do one day at a time to see how things work out and adjust around when need to.
I understand about watch out exhaustion. I have another question - if you stress out but not have enough time for yourself time out, so is there another way to work on stress?

Exhaustion, I'd watch out for exhaustion lol. Don't push yourself to hard for the first little while, acknowledge life happens and sometimes workouts don't. As you get accustomed to your new schedule start making workouts more of a mandatory thing. Having a healthy meal plan will probably be the best thing so you don't get trapped in the easy convenient fast food line.
That's my 2 cents

Food is a huge challenge for me right now, I've never been a stay at home before, plus its winter so I'm totally trapped in the house...
As far as working out goes I find little 10 minute chunks through the day easiest, its short enough my 4 month old doesn't flip out. Or while she is napping I blow off house work and lift weights, do yoga etc. Or if I make a big show out of it she loves watching me, let me tell you it is HARD to do a burpee while the baby is giggling at you.

Welcome arksi24!! What are your biggest challenges? I find planning out healthy foods for throughout the day has been the biggest help for me. When I get hungry I know exactly what I'm having. But it is also important to be sure that you're not wanting to eat for emotional reasons.

Hi Everyone,
I'm new in the group. I have a 4 months old son and a 4 years old toddler too. I joined the group to find some support and ideas on how to get time to exercise and how to control the eating urges I have. I need to lose 30 lbs so any ideas are more than welcome and please count me in for supporting you too.

Hi!
I had my second baby girl 6 weeks ago and also have a 3.5 year old. I now have a BMI of 29.9, would love to reduce this to closer to the normal range.
First goal is to lose the extra 20lbs I gained for my holiday in august then I will go from there.
I am healthy eating with a slimming group and am intending to exercise daily, walking around 15 miles a week with baby in the pram or walking our dog.

Hi all!
I just had a heathy baby boy almost 6 weeks ago....Now I am ready to get back to my old size. Before I got pregnant, I was a little over weight. I am close to 5'9 and gain 15 pounds after my honeymoon. Most my addition weight went to my gut.People would ask me if I was pregnant. It was terrible! When I did get pregnant I already appeared that way. I got really huge. People were always asking me if I was having twins! I gained 60 pounds.I am down to 218 lb. on a good day.
I am ready to be comfortable in my own skin. Tired of peoples' unwanted comments even though it is the truth. I know I could lose weight. Be nice to fit into my jeans again and be able to put my wedding ring back on! I want to look good in my 30s and the rest of my life. I want to do this for my family and me. So, can feel good when I get my picture taken with my baby. This is my start. Looking for support through women who are going through the same challenges.

Here goes to a new journey to losing wt. and gaining a new friends. Plus improving my lifestyle!

Hello Team,
My name is Janet and have been saying that it is ok that I still have an extra 20lbs cause I just had a baby..... well said baby is 6 months old now so I think it is time to stop the excuses and get to work. What really kicked me in the butt was a distant friend of mine posted on facebook that she was back into her pre-prego jeans already and her son is a month yonger than mine. I haven't even pulled my pre-prego jeans out of the basement yet! HAHA
I purchased a spark and am loving it!

Hello all! I had my son almost 8 weeks ago now through emergency c-section. Just this past week I have been able to work out regularly again. I want to build up my stamina and I will lose a significant amount of weight, I could stand to lose over 100 pounds. I will be working on that in increments so I don't feel overwhelmed. I had low iron during my pregnancy and I could really feel my weight in my poor knees. At my last appointment it was discovered that I had developed preeclampsia.

I do want another child and for my health and for my son I want to reach a much healthier weight before contemplating my next pregnancy.

Hi! I have an 8 month old baby boy. Through pregnancy and nursing, I gained only a modest amount of weight despite a horrible diet. However, the fertility treatments and life in general before the baby contributed to some extra weight that has to go before trying for #2. Even early on in the last pregnancy, I was experiencing pelvic girdle pain that got to the point where I really couldn't walk towards the end of the pregnancy. It still hurts today. So I need to take some pounds off and tone up so that the next pregnancy doesn't turn into a nightmare!

If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you. -Fred Devito

Wow. I really regret that workout. -Said no one ever

Hi Debra. My baby boy just turned 4 months on Monday (how time fly's). congrats on the baby and good luck on your weight loss journey. I too am trying to lose the baby weight. I gained about 40 pounds and only dropped about 10 after the baby. I read how the weight just melted off of some and hoped it would happen to me as well but that was not the case. Anyway, I am here... motivated and ready. So far I am still on track with my weight loss goal. SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE!

Ho Kristin. Congrats on the baby! :) Yes, fast food and junk food just seem less time consuming then having to prepare an entire dinner. I too am guilty of reaching for the chips instead of just baking a chicken breast with a salad.
I actually love hummus so I will take your advise. I actually want to start packing my lunch for work..... the vending machines are just too close and are too tempting. I will be packing some carrots and hummus tomorrow for my snack. Actually just bought some tupperwear which I will be using for my lunches and snacks for work.
Go Team New Moms!!!!!!! We can do this.

Hi all,

back--finally--after baby #2 who is now 19 months. Things have been crazy. I'm a college professor, and when my day is done at the college, I come home to what seems like my second job, meaning getting dinner on the table and tending to my two boys (ages 5 and 19 months). I'm depleted, and have found no consistent time to exercise and to take care of me. This has to change, however. I was on SP before I got pregnant with my first baby and it was great! I've never been in such great shape, nor felt so great! I'm looking forward to getting back to that.

what you think you become.

Hi! I'm back on Spark People after a hiatus being pregnant. I had my 3rd child Sept. 23rd, a little boy. I also have an almost 13 year old girl and a 7 1/2 year old boy. A year ago, I had lost over 30 pounds using this site. I "only" gained 38 pounds during my pregnancy (being obese that was too much, I am 5'9) and have gotten back down to 230 with no problem, I just need to get back on my track to getting back down to 170 where I want to be (a size 8 for my height). Statistics say that as you get older (I'm almost 37) it gets harder, so I'm scared!! emoticon I am so glad to find a group like this with other Mommies who are going through the same things! :)

Hi, May. My name is Kristin. Welcome.
I am in the same boat as you. I work full time, and am going to school. My baby just turned 8 months. I was also healthy and average weight. I gained about 30-35 pounds. I lost 10 pounds after having the baby, and just now am I finally finding the energy to workout and eat healthy. What is working for me energy wise is eating healthy. At first the junk foods seemed to keep me fuller, but when I gave them up (for the most part) and focused on healthy foods (especially hummus), I found I stayed fuller longer and had more energy. Good luck, May, and remember to eat healthy. :)

Hi guys.
My name is May. I had a baby 3 months ago and want to lose this extra baby weight. I have a beautiful baby boy that I am in love with and that keeps me busy. I am currently going to school full time, working full time and I am a full time mom. Wow... I got tired just typing that.
Well, I am motivated and determined to lose this extra weight. When I got pregnant (on February) I was at a healthy and average weight. During my pregnancy I gained 40 pounds. After the baby I lost 10 pounds and now want to lose the extra 30 and a little more to get to my weight from a few years back.
Wish me luck.

Hi! My name is Sarah and I had a little boy back in April. I gained 30lbs during pregnancy and I had lost all 30, but about 12 of it has creeped back on. Right now I'm at about 190 and my dream goal is 140, so I have 50lbs to lose. That goal is flexible depending on how I feel and how much muscle I build.

My main goal right now is to work on my eating because it has been out of control. I've been on SparkPeople before and had a lot of success so I'm hoping it will help again this time around. I'm a little afraid to really ramp up the exercise because I'm still nursing and worried about supply, but I do try to run a few times a week. I finally tracked all my food yesterday and I was horrified, so hopefully that is the kick in the pants I need!

My husband is deployed right now and is due back at the beginning of June, and my birthday is at the end of May. I'm trying to lose about 2lbs a week, so that would put me at my goal by my birthday and have me looking and feeling great for my husband's return!

Hey All! I'm Natacha, one of the new team leaders. I'm 30 yrs old, and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Sept 19th. I was overweight before getting pregnant, was part of Spark before pregnancy and was doing real well. I gained 18lbs during pregnancy, and have lost 25 lbs since birth. So I'm back at it again. I want out of the 200's once and for all!! My goal is to get to 165 lbs to start. I've never been a small girl so I think it's a realistic weight for me.. Hi! My name is Elisha and I had my little boy on August 28th. I've always struggled with my weight and now that my whole world has changed I don't imagine that it is going to get easier. I had health complications toward the end of my pregnancy and I want to work on getting myself as healthy as possible to be the best mom, wife, and me that I can. Tomorrow I will hit 4 weeks post partum and my goal is to lose 40ish lbs in the next 9 months. That will get me to a BMI of 25 and my wedding weight. Ideailly, I'd aim for 15 more lbs after that, but I've always had a hard time maintaining the low 140's even on my 5'3" frame.

Looking forward to joining everyone on this journey!

I was finally starting to lose weight, and felt better physically than I had in a long time when I got pregnant. We had given up trying to get pregnant and were in the process of adoption. Well, just as I got down to 174 (finally "overweight" and not "obese" for my BMI) I stalled. Well, yay! I was preggo. I gained about 25 pounds, and all but 5 was in the third trimester.

Like another poster, I was down to 185 or so about three weeks after delivery, but that sugar craving that hit me in the third trimester continued. Once I started working on that my weight at least quit increasing.

Now I am working to get back down to 174, then I'll make a new goal. I am doing the Le-Vel 8-week challenge. I have Lupus, so I'm doing it more for pain management so I can keep working out effectively. I look forward to reading more from you all.

I totally relate! I thought I was losing the weight so fast, but then I started to gain it back a couple of months after Baby was born. I didn't stop breastfeeding, so it might not have anything to do with that :-)

Hi everyone! I just joined SP about 40 minutes ago. I was over weight when I got pregnant (at about 185 pounds) and then put on an additional 30-35 pounds. Within the first two weeks of having my baby, who is almost two months old already, I lost 25 pounds! But once I stopped breast feeding, the weight came back so quickly. I'm at 208 right now and very displeased with my body, but mostly I want to feel energized again. I'm doing what I can at home but I'm definitely lacking motivation, and it's so easy to wander into the kitchen and eat whatever is handy. I'm very excited to be getting back into a healthy lifestyle and I'm hoping that this site will be a great support system for me.

HI!! I've been on SP for 5 years now and had great success and lost about 50 pounds! But I did let the weight creep back on and before I knew it, I was preggo!! I got pregnant at 199lbs and gained 34lbs while pregnant. Now with a 24 day old, I am ready to drop some poundage. I already lost 26lbs just by doing nothing. But now I am ready to start tracking my food and getting my eating under control. And also I am ready to start walking. I already spoke to my doctor since I haven't had my post partum visit yet & he basically informed me if I feel up to it and take it easy that walking is not going to kill me lol I am hoping to meet some new friends in this team considering I am a first time mom.

Hello,

I'm Brandy and I gave birth to our first child almost 6 weeks ago. I've got my appointment on Tuesday and am hoping to be cleared for excercising at that point. I gained almost 60 pounds during my pregnancy and wasn't at a good weight to begin with. I'm hoping that with the help of this site and my Fitbit, I will be able to get down to a healthy, comfortable, weight.

Hi everyone! I'm Tonya. I just gave birth to my third child on May 23rd. He is very demanding, but very worth it! I have never been thin. I have battled with weight all my life, but now that I am in my 30's I have decided that I need to start doing something about it. I will say that I was the excuse maker. I read an article on here recently that described me perfectly. I let "lazy" win. I am the person who makes allowances for myself for any reason. When I got pregnant I was 213 lbs. By far, the largest I have ever been. During the pregnancy I lost weight (I know its weird, but I did it with every pregnancy...go figure). After giving birth I was at 190 lbs. Now that I am recovered from my c-section, I am motivated to work out. I have been working out every day for the past week and tracking my food. I have made it down to 185 lbs and am hoping to keep on track to losing 2-5 lbs a week at first. So glad to have this website and forum to help me stay motivated!

Hello everyone. I hope I am posting correctly to this topic. My name is Kristin. I just had a baby on April 13, 2013. I have taken it easy for the 6 weeks after delivery. I was 174 when I gave birth and now I am 160.4. I think it is decent weight loss. I am trying to make my first goal of getting into the healthy weight range for my height, which is 145 pounds. Before the pregnancy I was 135 pounds and I loved it (so that is my ultimate end goal). I joined this spark team page to get support and to support others. I go back to work tomorrow and I am also in school, so life will be rather hectic. I am also breastfeeding for as long as I can, so I won't be able to lose the weight fast. Progress will be progress though. Good luck everyone.

Good morning everyone, My name is Dana and I just had a baby boy 1/10/13 and gained a whopping 50lbs with this pregnancy. I have been up and down with my weight all my life. I know from my last pregnancy that I had a hard time losing weight while breastfeeding however, I am still going to try. I try to exercise as much as possible, right now being the most difficult due to the fact I returned to work for the Month of April and will not be able to hit the gym during the week only on the weekends. I am looking for support as I know it is tough.
