Yes, it would depend on what I am cooking, but I will say that slow cooker is my favorite way, one pot meal that doesn't have to be watched over.

I use them all, depending on the recipe and the food that I am cooking. A few years ago grills were banned in the condo complex,so I rarely get to BBQ, have to go to DS's for that. I can, however, broil in the oven, which is a fair approximation of grilling, but it just doesn't have the charcoal or hickory flavor.

Energy Drinks: Love them or Loathe them?

I tried a 5-hour energy drink....once. It tasted horrible, and it had way too much caffeine for me to handle......it made me very jittery and nauseous

So I guess that would be a Loathe them for me..

The "energy" ingredient in most energy drinks is caffeine. I get plenty of that in the Colombian Coffee I drink each day.

If you had to choose, would you rather exercise in extremely hot weather or extremely cold weather?

Well, that really depends on the season. There is nothing that I like better than swimming in the ocean or a pool on a really hot day. Likewise, I am estatic to be shushing down a mountain slope no matter what the weather in winter. I probably get more exercise on extremely hot or cold days than on beautiful ones.

No extremes. However, if forced to choose, COLD would be better. Humidity is the killer for me. Today I came home, closed the curtains, undressed, and I'll be very quiet for a while.

If I HAD to choose, I'd go with extremely hot weather, hydrate well, wear light loose clothing, and keep the session short.

Of course if given a third option -- exercising indoors -- that would make far more sense.

If you had to choose, would you rather exercise in extremely hot weather or extremely cold weather?

For me, I usually exercise inside regardless of the weather! I do NOT even walk outside if the weather is too hot or cold or if it's raining or snowing!

When it comes to weight loss, how does competition (such as weight-loss challenges or wagers) affect you?

Well, I see it as a competition of one. I like to challenge myself.

They don't. I was in three competitions/wagers at work. I lost weight for one, stayed the same for another, and, due to unhealthy choices, gained in one. Oops.

I do join competitions, I feel it keeps me focused and responsible to the team. I need the structure and the commitment to others to keep me on track.

I thrive on healthy competition--it really helps me reach my goals!
I tend to shrink away from competition--I like to do things at my own pace
Competition tends to make me too obsessive, so I try to stay away from it

Usually I don't like them. I prefer to do things on my own

Would you support a tax on soda as a means to discourage its consumption?

No! I do not like tax increases.

If people wanted the soda they would pay the price. (or steal it)

Why not tax the makers of soda instead of the people who consume it?
Many of the soda companies have realized that their sugary products are not the healthiest and have diversified into other drinks and products to keep their revenues up.

We have all grown up with carbonated beverages as a part of our cultural food heritage. It would be difficult to eliminate them entirely from our food repetoire, for we have uses for soda other than just drinking. (Have you ever seen the articled circulated on the internet saying that Coca Cola is great for removing lime build up in toilets?)

I am in favor of lowering taxes across the board. People are already way overtaxed. Increasing soda tax would do nothing but fill the coffers of the greedy. Always remember: In Greed We Trust !!!
