Stress can have a serious impact on health. The exhaustion phase of the general adaptation syndrome can cause real problems. If stress continues unrelieved in this phase it can cause some of the symptoms you list. You really need to find some way of reducing your stress to give your body a break. Can you take an afternoon to take a walk or meditation can help. Just something to break the cycle. (yeah, I'm a psych student.)

Yes have absolutley been there! It stinks when school takes up so much time you feel like you can barely breathe. Just remember to take like 10 minutes out for yourself... YOU deserve it!

The more stressed out I am, the more irritable I am. It makes me difficult to be around. I also tend to get somatic symptoms from being stressed. And, of course, when I'm stressed I eat and certainly don't exercise. emoticon Being stressed out by school or whatever is a big problem for me. emoticon

I think I've always been a person who stresses out easily, so grad school of course brings it all out. This spring and summer are my last 2 classes of my masters program, but they have also been the most stressful out of all of them. During my comprehensive exams, I swear my hair got thinner! Now I'm in a condensed 6-week course that has forced me to give up nearly all my free time. In the last few weeks I've been experiencing all sorts of weird symptoms, like insomnia, systemic itching, aches and pains, and now I think I might have an ulcer. I think I can attribute most of them to stress, or at least the stress has aggravated the health problems I had.

Am I alone here? This is the first time I've ever really been able to link health problems to stress, and I think it's because the stress this time has been so overwhelming and long-lasting.
