I'm also a bigger fan of the comics than the idea of a movie with real people. I wish it were an animated film since I think the jokes would translate better. It might also make our lives seem entertaining rather than sad. emoticon

Thanks for pointing this out! I do love those strips, but I have to say - seeing real, live humans playing those roles was kind of depressing. With comics, I can laugh...but with real people, I think I identify too much...WHY am I doing this?!

So I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with PhD Comics, but I'm guessing a good deal of you are. If not, I recommend looking it up; good stuff. I love it, I check the website for new clips every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and have also gone through the entire archive of strips (at only a small cost to my research productivity...).

Anyway, in case you hadn't heard, a while back Jorge Cham announced he was making a movie of the strip. Well, the trailer is out now. You can see it on the phdcomics.com website, under "read the latest comic strips" or by clicking here http://www.phdcomics.com/movie/

For those familiar with the strip, what do you think of the trailer? How does it feel to see real life versions of the 2D drawings of grad students you (if you're like me) feel you've come to know and love?
