I had classes today and I'm about ready to cry. Lots of work this semeseter and then actual work on top of it. Good times. Good luck everyone this semester.

Congrats on nearing the end of coursework, CRAFTYSARAH and getting ready to defend your prospectus, RUTH2301.

Are things going better this term PSYCHOJULES?

I'm also done with coursework and am writing my dissertation proposal. Hoping to defend it within the next two months so I can work on recruiting sites and getting IRB approval for Fall 2011 data collection. I'm hoping that my work load with teaching and research is more manageable this semester so I can actually focus on my own stuff.

Jules, I think you have the right idea. Pacing myself is something I have never really mastered. Hopefully this three day weekend will help a bit.

Ruth, that is awesome that you are getting ready to defend your prospectus. What a major accomplishment to have your dissertation all figured out so you can start moving forward with it.

Awesome news about almost being done with coursework. I'm post-coursework, and I have to say that I don't really miss them! And when I do I can always just sit in on something interesting for a little while.

Right now I'm gearing up for my prospectus defense (prospectus = dissertation proposal, essentially), and a busy semester of research, writing, and presenting. It's going well so far, but we'll see how it feels three months from now :)

trying to get ready--doing one class (all i could afford), but trying to get as much required reading out of the way so i don't have to cram and then try to write each week--that's what near killed me my first semester of grad school (okay, slight exaggeration, but the closest to a nervous breakdown i'd ever hit). mine starts next week. scary.

Spring term classes start for me tomorrow. The good news is that this will be my last semester of coursework. The bad news is that I have 9 credit hours plus an article to work on this term (plus the full-time job).

How are you guys doing? Ready for the new semester?
