well, from the look of things my professor accepted my explanation and took pity on me, because i ended up with a B in that class even with that late paper.

I'm glad for that. one less class to have to pay for, though i'm probably not taking classes this semester (working on research project ideas, and don't have enough money right now)

thanks, me too. maybe it'll knock his socks off and he'll feel like crap if he doesn't give me some credit on it (fingers and toes crossed)

I hope that he decides he'd rather have quality work a bit late than something thrown together but on time. *fingers crossed*

Ugh, i finished that paper at 2:35 a.m., 8.5 hours after it was due online. i sent it in anyway, then got an e-mail from my prof wondering why it was late and such, and that he doesn't take late assignments (though i did have some other papers i sent in a day late here and there).

I hope like crazy he renegs on that a bit. i sent an e-mail with an explanation (he was wondering why i didn't follow submission guidelines) of just being unable to write and trying hard but it wasn't coming together. I wouldn't blame him if he took 10 or 20 points off that paper because it was late, but to not take it at all will make me fail (its 60% of my grade).

The only consolation i've got is that if he discounts that paper and i fail, that its my money down the toilet, and not my dad's. i'm paying for my own grad school.

also, if i fail that class, i'm only gonna take 1 grad course next semester instead of two, i think. i need time to figure out a better plan and i'll need all the time i can get to find a real job.

ARGH! 40 Year Old Virgin was great, as was Bridget Jones' Diary, and Elf, and 10 Things I Hate About You...yes, I am supposed to be an intellectual!

And the paper is STILL only 3/4 done....send me that pill, now!!!

Yay! I am glad to see an active thread here! Especially one I can relate to...I only wish there was a magic motivation pill. I know I am overwhelmed at present because I keep looking at the mountain of work in front of me (stretching on for years no less) instead of the next discreet task. I have comments from two of my friends that I could incorporate into my draft - that's the next step. Not finish the whole darned thing.

BTW, how is "The 40 Year Old Virgin"? emoticon

I need help, too! I am afraid I can only commiserate with you at this point...I have a paper that was due May 1st, and I am still working on it!!! I have an incomplete and it's mentally blocked me on so many other things. I was supposed to finish it up this weekend, but seem to be sitting in front of the tv and "The 40 Year Old Virgin" instead. Maybe we can mock and ridicule each other into action?!

I've spent the past couple of weeks trying to get my research materials together and come up with a thesis--this is by far the hardest paper i've had to write because of so many limitations on it and such.

i was supposed to have rough drafts earlier this week, but was still trying to make my outline--and this paper's due tomorrow night by 6 pm and i just can't get motivated to start it. it stinks!

i guess i'm just so tired from this crazy semester that i don't wanna do anymore, but i've got that paper due tomorrow and a final exam (essay with documentation) the night after.

gah! when you don't wanna do something, like write even at the last minute, how do you motivate yourselves? i can't remember the last time i felt like this with a paper (and i usually like research papers, they make me feel smart). i guess its because i don't think i'm knowing what i'm doing with this one or something.

any help would be great.
