Thanks for checking in, Synchro. I am doing a bit better now, though my live-in boyfriend's mother is in town, and he grew up eating out for almost every meal, so of course that's what we've been doing. I have suggested making dinner at home but at the last minute they always change their mind. It makes it a bit harder but I am hanging in there! I decided that one bad day (or week) is not the end of the world, so I'm trying to make as healthy choices as I can and wait for things to get back to my usual routine.

Best of luck getting back on the ball - as you probably know, it's usually that first week (or two or three) that are hardest, but then once you're back into the swing of things, it becomes a lot easier.

How are you doing this weekend? I think the others had great suggestions.

I have also had a rough semester. I am getting back on the ball now, though... I wish you the best.

Filiault & Priestess, thank you so much, it's great to have your support and encouragement. I like the suggestion to take breaks from working to exercise - I think I'll try that today. And if I am still thinking about cupcakes today... I'll fit one in!

Thanks emoticon

Meg- I'm with you. I've just gone all to pieces this semester. I'm slightly more on the ball with my papers than usual, but I still had to ask for an extension. Filiault is right though, at least you're still tracking. I haven't been, and I know I haven't been exercising. What worries me more is that I don't feel guilty or unhappy or anything. You still care, which means you have the motivation to get back on track. And eat the cupcake, just don't eat 12 of them, and you'll be fine.

Meg -- Sorry to hear things aren't going that great for you at the moment. I suppose there is some consolation in being AWARE that you're eating more calories than usual, and you're still tracking it and posting on here.

Perhaps, while you're working on your manuscript (don't you hate how people get authorships without doing anything?), you can take a few 10 minute breaks and do some of the exercises on here. Spead out three exercise breaks over the course of the day and suddenly you have your 30 minutes! Plus, that gives your mind a break and may actually help you to be more productive.

My thought is that if you want the cupcake, get the cupcake ... but be sure to track it on your log, and then just compensate for the rest of the day. You're suppose to enjoy what you eat, and treat yourself ... just not all the time.

Hope that helps you.

I am having a really tough week! There have been a couple of end-of-year BBQs, and after two months of healthy eating & staying in my range 95% of the time, I was over by 500 calories yesterday, and 1000 the day before! I also have not exercised this week, though I plan to hit the gym this afternoon.

I am also working on a manuscript (a week overdue at this point) and not getting much help from collaborators. I'm feeling stressed and that makes me want to eat! An orange is not cutting it... I'm fantasizing about cupcakes...

Anyone else having a tough time wrapping up their school year?
