Eliminating dairy will be difficult for me, but not impossible.

Walking 5000 steps will be a challenge. But I can do it.

Intentions for 2019 "Use what works!" Research, write plan and monitor a good week. Repeat and tweak to obtain results! Read all my books: Obesity/ Diabetes Code; Eat Rich, Live Long; Plant Paradox; Thyroid books and more.

Fasting variety: IF, EF, Water, Dry; FMD, OMAD. When I'm really hungry, I ate too much, too fast. I can practice slowing down and stop when full even if it's a small amount: Protein first and LCHF.
This sign is like my story - down 80 pounds in 2016. Detour winter'17 re-gained 15#. Down again by August '18 to lowest 158. Again, fall/winter re-gain 15#. I feel like a bear preparing for hibernation. emoticon

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and are now gearing up for New Year's Eve and the beginning of the new year!!

I personally like New Year's Resolutions. But I choose to call them plans in progress.

In 2019 - what are you going to do for yourself and your health?

Let's get a list going...

1) make more time for exercise. To be specific, a ST schedule 3 times a week. CArdio 2 times a week. 30 minutes minimum.

I chose that IF schedule because it is easier for me to navigate around non Keto meals.
Not to blame my husband but he is not Keto and doesn't seem to think I need to be either so he is always cooking or bringing non Keto foods home.

7 AM We eat breakfast everyday which is a Keto breakfast for me - just skip the toast.
7PM We always eat dinner together but I don't cook any carbs. (if he requests carbs I will make one portion for him)
So the answer to the question is I eat when my DH and I share a meal. 7AM & & 7PM everyday.

During the day I am usually out and about doing my thing (don't miss lunch if I am busy)
and he also is out working or fishing.
So it is just easier for me to skip food all day when we are not sharing a mealtime.

I think I will enjoy those few carbs I get more if I save most for dinner rather than spreading them out all day. I have always said i don't eat because I am hungry, I eat because I just like food and it is a habit. So although there is no hunger with Keto - I never needed to be hungry to eat without Keto so I am breaking bad habits.

Kathleen - that is wonderful about your knee!!

I like your fasting plan. What do you hope to accomplish by using that particular schedule? And how is it different from something like18/6, and eating only lunch and dinner? Is it easier for you, or just a schedule thing? I'm very intrigued...

I'm back. Happy happy news. Just a sore inflamed knee not a tear as suspected. Needs rest and no stair climbing for a week and then if I need it - physical therapy.

Hello everyone wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas.

I am unfortunately finishing out this year with a twisted knee injury. I am looking forward to the new year when I start doing a modified IF everyday and still follow Keto,

The IF plan is the same one as I have occasionally followed before:
Eat breakfast 7AM and then nothing all day (except liquids) until 7PM dinner.
So basically I'll be skipping lunch and no snacking.

KAREN- Enjoy your time with your brother. So nice he could visit for the holidays.

IF is totally flexible. You can do your 8 hour window from 12-8, or from 2-10, or from 10-6. make it work for you!

The LC will make it easier to go that long without eating. Make sure you have your healthy fats so you're not hungry!

My brother (from Alaska) comes in tomorrow and will be here for 9 days. Can't wait! We have activities, food, and special times scheduled already.

Speaking of cookies... my darling daughter-in-law Olivia from Colorado sent us a care package of keto cookies!! They are shortbread, and they taste wonderful. So I will have a few cookies this holiday season!

CHICK I have found that if you find some things you like to eat, make them keto, that's a really good start. If you google "keto" whatever - say keto pancakes, you will find a recipe someone has come up with. You may like it or not, but at least you can start with recipes you enjoy.

Then there is bacon.... bacon is always yummy.

When I go out, I usually get meat and veg or salad with protein on it. I love keto food! (not that I don't miss cookies, but whatever...)

Hi SARIC3!! Welcome to low-carb IF! You have a very advanced form of fasting, I’m impressed! I just got done with a 68 hour fast, in preparation for a colonoscopy, but I rarely do fast that long. I’d like to do more, but they’re very hard, especially with the husband at home who likes to eat.

I agree, keto and fasting are more for health benefits than weight loss, but weight loss is a great side benefit. Cheers to you!

Good Afternoon - You seem like an active group. YAY!!

I've been lc/keto for quite a while. IF in various forms for about a year. My current form is 36hr Sun pm to Tue AM - 22/2 WF and 16/8 the rest - I rarely eat breakfast. With an extended fast 1x a month - for December it will be 26th pm to 30th am. I won't start the morning of the 26th, because I like one day of light eating before I fast.
I do consume broth on if I feel the need.

I still have a few pounds to lose, but that is not my primary goal. I'm just trying to improve my overall health and quality of life as I age. - I have also found that IF improves my IBS symptoms.

My 85 yr father is being treated for dementia and I have 1 APoE4 allele so its time to feed my brain properly.

Has any one read Genius Foods?

Good Morning Sparklerz!!!

Yesterday I completed my weekly 24 hr fast! I've decided to bite the bullet and do one 24 hr fast a week in December. I chose Thursday Afternoon after "Dinner" and end Friday dinner with family.. This was my fathers weekly routine. His way to mentally prepare for the weekend.. He always opened his Fast with homemade chicken soup.. Always- It was a whole chicken boiled with herbs, spices and tons of veggies!! Soo the Tradition continues! My Fast was effortless, and I even did a Kettle Bell workout and 3 mile hike while fasted.. My body feasted on the Fat Stores, so I had tons of energy thru all this! emoticon .. This Fast comes at a good time because I've been helping myself to 5 too many Holiday Treats! emoticon
emoticon Karen- Wow you hubby is doing great! It helps when family is on board.. I'm still holding out hope for my hubby!!! People have reactions to the Proteins in milk. A1 & A2.

Here's an interesting article abt it-..
emoticon Linda- Way2Go maintaining your BG! As long as your feeling healthy and balanced. especially during this time of year, that a WIN emoticon
emoticon Kathleen- I hear you! I've been struggling too, going off roading with my food choices. My 24hr fast helped reign things in. I'm feeling a bit more in control, so Im pushing thru with this momentum! emoticon emoticon
emoticon Elizabeth- Have fun shopping! I haven't really ventured out into the stores. Most my stuff has been ordered online.. I usually go early in the morning, to avoid all the crowds.. Have fun!!

KD - I backed away DAIRY for a painful month last summer sometime - then eased back to it and can have cheese but nor liquid milk - I like my kefir and cottage cheese that is still active " bugs" also try to not enjoy too much of it per day.

Maintaining on my 12 - 14 hours per day fasting - blood sugars in fair control with low carb and low sat fats. and three low cal days per week - not loosing weight - feeling healthy and appreciating not pushing too hard but am hoping to push for another weight drop in the next week or so if my life stays calm.

Hi KAREN I just answered your spark mail to me. DAM! Did you have an allergic reaction to milk? What happened?

Well with a stretch of the imagination you can actually make quiche without cows milk and no cheese by using a substitute milk, like almond or goats milk etc or non dairy versions of milk but NO cheese. Use lots of veggies and 6 eggs , lots of spices. I have never eaten this but apparently many people do.

Cheese has been my go to snack for a long time. I have several kinds in my fridge - but I love Jarlsberg the best.

I just found out I may have a cow's milk sensitivity, so I'm not sure where my cream/cheese fetish will land. How do you make quiche without cream and cheese?

Thanks Kathleen! I do love dill pickles, as does hubby. I will pick up a jar today. Had a good night last night, never snacked after probably 7:30 or so. Often time I will have cheese. There are so many kinds out there that I hadn't tried. lol.

Today I am going to town and try to get some more Christmas shopping done. Wish I knew what to buy. I wouldn't mind going if I knew. lol

Yes - he's doing awesome! Down 5 pounds in a week. BG from 159 to 107. It's easy when we're home and I'm cooking or at least making food to send him to work with. We'll see what happens when events/etc come up. I'm hopeful. He's got the right attitude.

Today is a long fast day for me. I've been doing 18/6 on a regular basis (except weekends) but today I'm going to do a 23/1.

Next week I have a colonoscopy scheduled, so I'm fasting from Sunday through Tuesday evening. That should FINALLY get me under 145.

This journey has really slowed down for me, but I just can't complain when I am buying S/M leggings these days. I bought some fleece lined ones yesterday. Oh my gosh!! They are so comfy! Like wearing pajamas...

KDGIRL - Your DH is doing great! Amazing numbers for him. He's lucky to have you guiding him through this. It helps a lot when you have good support at home. Men can really drop weight fast, infuriating isn't it? Good thing we love them.

I have been struggling to get into a routine after the Thanksgiving holiday. Not so much eating too much just not in a comfortable place and feeling that temptation toward off plan foods. We had a few celebrations and then there is a party coming up this weekend. I need to feel more in control.

So today is a fasting day. Mondays and Thursdays work best for me. Today I had a good Keto breakfast at 7AM and I will fast until tomorrow's breakfast at 7AM.
Then tomorrow I have a luncheon date with a friend.

Hi ALOFA - I hear you on the sabotage. There is always at least one in every family! LOL
Ate the cookies- DONE. You can move on now and forget it.

ELIZABETH - That was my problem, night time snacking. It took me three months to kick that habit! And I finally did. I just made a rule of not eating after 7PM. But the one thing that got me through was Dill pickles. LOTS and LOTS of dill pickles. LOL So find a food that you can enjoy without too many calories/carbs and stick to it. You can break that habit.

Alofa those cookies sound pretty darn good, and nothing wrong with 14 hours!

I got a bit of decorating done today, put the garland and lights above my cupboards. Doesn't sound like much but its kind of time consuming. Plus half of my lights didn't work so I had to run to the store to pick up more.

I have had dinner and was finished about 6pm. I would like to try and not have anything more tonight, I am a snacker especially at night so its a challenge!

Wow its December! Phew I have been kind of busy lately. An overnight trip to the city (3 hours away) but got some Christmas shopping done. Far from done but I got a good dent in it.

Karen so glad that your visit went well with your sparkfriend, love the picture!

I did a 16 hr fast yesterday and will do another probably on Tuesday.

Great job on the HIIT workout Alofa! I have a few of the Turbofire HIIT workouts and they are great. Getting up at 5:30am to do them is amazing! You rock!

Alofa you are my inspiration! Next week I'm going to get up early and meet a friend to exercise in the am before work. HIIT is easy enough along with some weight lifting.

DH lost 4 pounds in 4 days, but better than that his blood sugar went from 159 to 121!! In only 4 days! What will a week or even a month bring? He's very happy, as am I.

I'm still trying to get under 145. Seems I lose these days 1/10th of a pound at a time.

Hello Friends!

Starting this month I started a 30 Minute HITT Routine at 5:30am.. I found that this routine was soo helpful in keeping morning stress down! I always work out fasted, and I usually eat around 11am.. I've found that I'm a lot hungrier around 8am after my work outs. So I started eating early and cut my dinner around 5pm. This has been working great! I'll work with this and see how it goes, Tweek as I go..

Karen- How awesome your hubby is doing Keto with you! I need to incorporate a longer fast in, I'm thinking one 24 hr fast a week, starting Dec 1st emoticon

Hi MINEA - I can't speak for everyone in this group, but I fast some form every week day and not on weekends. On weekends I eat 3 meals, no snacking.

This week I'm trying to do 3 22-24 hour fasts, eating only dinner on M-W-F and lunch and dinner on Tue/Thu and then 3 on Sat/Sun.

I find skipping breakfast the easiest thing ever. Lunch - not so much, because I'm hungry by then, but I'm trying to do some additional fasting to get me into the low 140s. Eventually I'd like to end up in the 130s... I think. I'll see how I feel when I get there. Body composition is more important to me than weight.

I agree - vacation eating can get out of control and good for you for reigning it in so quickly!! There are many ways to lose weight - IF is one of them, LC is one of them, a combo is another. N=1 is a formula that works for you and your individual body and psyche.

We are here for you and want to be an encouragement! Let us know if you have any questions!

I went on vacation and was up 8 lbs by the time I got back. As soon as I got back I did 2 18/6's and then back to 16/8's and within 5 days I was down 5 lbs. Two more came off in the following 5 days. So 10 days since returning from vacation with a big gain, I'm back to within 1 lb of when I left.

That first 18/6 after vacation is a tough one though! On the other hand, it did give me a sense of regaining control quickly. In the past after a vacation the 'vacation eating' would last at least a week or more after I got back. So it was encouraging to be able to get a hold of the situation quickly after returning.

Question - do you all do IF every day or a few times a week or? What's your schedule? I've been generally doing 16/8 or 18/6 every day but Wednesdays. On Wednesdays I don't fast and I can eat whatever I want - but I don't snack - and I'm done by 6pm followed by an 18/6 into Thursday. I find that this helps me mentally so that if I really want a sandwich - I'll have it on a Wednesday. Then I'm never feeling like I'm totally depriving myself. My history has shown that following eating plans that eliminate whole food groups or macros are unsustainable for me and I become resentful and then binge. So this seems to be working for me so far. I can see myself though eventually eliminating the Wednesday free day.

Thanks Kathleen - I still have about 10-15 pounds I think. Honestly, my body is a lot different than the last time I weighed 147, I think I'm thinner at this weight than I used to be. So for me, it's not a weight (although that quantifies things somewhat) but more a look. I stand in front of my full length mirror naked and see that there is quite a bit of fat left. I don't care if I lose weight, just if I lose fat.

I just love the eating of the keto food though - so this is a totally sustainable way of life. And now that hubby is trying it, I hope for him too.

KAREN - That is so fantastic that you had an opportunity to actually meet a Spark buddy !

After lying side ways on my desk top I saw your picture ( LOL just kidding). You look super fantastic!!! And you look quite thin like you are at your goal already.

Hi ALOFA Nice to see you here. I see you are still getting those long walks in and the treadmill is a great addition.

What a fun visit, Karen! And wow that your hubby is trying the keto train, I hope it goes well for him (and you).

Ended up doing 2 spontaneous days of 18 hr fasts Sunday and Monday, felt good to visualize burning off the extras from last week. I don't think I'll ever get numb to how good it feels to be food flexible this way.

Hi Alofa - glad you had a good thanksgiving too!! It's great to have those memories pop up from days gone by, and good to have new traditions too. A 7 mile hike (plus 2) sounds great!

I did a 22.5 hour fast yesterday - broke at 5:05 pm. Today I'm aiming for 22 hours again so I can eat early and go to a casino party at 6. I'm trying to rack in a few longer days for the holiday season since I have so many short days (IF wise) coming up. It'll all average out I think, and keep my body confused.

Day one with my husband going Keto went well. He's a snacker, so I'm going to have to work on snacks. I just eat meals, and forget anything else these days.

It was AWESOME!!! It was like we had known each other for years (which we have technically) and we talked about our families which we have "seen" grow up together. I met her husband who is so nice and friendly, and we went on a 5 mile walk along the Riverwalk. What a wonderful day!

Today my husband starts keto with me. I took his blood glucose (yikes) and look forward to it going down. I sent in all sorts of stuff to work with him. I just don't want him getting hungry and not having choices. There is at our local HEB a microwavable package of green beans! That can sit in his desk until he is starving and it's an emergency. I'm very hopeful and excited.

Way to go Elizabeth!!

I have an exciting day planned. A Spark friend (who I've been Spark friends with for about 10 years) has come to San Antonio with her husband. We're going to meet up today for the first time in person!

She's about my age, has one boy (I have two) and we've "seen" each other's families grow up on this forum. She's retired now (someday soon for me) and traveling around the country in an RV. Will report back tomorrow!!

So my 15-16 hr fast became a 21 hour fast. So happy I did that, and I can't believe how easy it was. I didn't feel bad at all, hardly even felt hungry. I went from about 9pm last night til 6pm tonight. Even got a 5K run in this morning.

Yay team - we made it through the biggest eating holiday of the year! Now to keep it up through Christmas!

I think that even if you had a challenge that you didn't overcome, keeping up the drive to IF occasionally and eat low carb mainly is better for your body than just saying "bag it - it's the holidays".

Next week I'm going to do 3 24 hour fasts - not eat from dinner on Sunday to dinner on Monday, and repeat. I'll eat every day, but not breakfast and lunch on those 3 days.

Hello. I had a great Thanksgiving day with family. We hosted this year so I made the family favorites and a few Keto side dishes that I liked. They didn't even realize they were Keto.

I fasted the day before and the morning of the holiday so I was really hungry for that dinner. But I was surprised I didn't over eat or go off plan. I actually ate my turkey first and then took the rest which was just asparagus wrapped in bacon and roasted brussel sprouts. I just skipped all starchy foods. I did enjoy a glass of white wine and later I had a SF jello with whipped cream an espresso. That sweet potato I was planning on eating regardless of the carbs just didn't happen. I didn't even want it, too many carbs/not worth it. I don't have a sweet tooth so dessert was not a problem. It was a good Keto day for me. Sent all left overs home with the family. Just kept some turkey for us.

Scale was the same this morning so that was a win, no gain!

I had a good Thanksgiving too - ate turkey, some wine, some broccoli/cheese dish I made and brought over to my in-laws, and some collard greens with bacon. A nice surprise. My plate looked full, like every one else's, and I had some pumpkin cheesecake (keto) that I prepared for dessert as well. As a matter of fact, my pumpkin cheesecake was more popular than the pies with real sugar!!

My BG was 79 this morning, and my BK were 2.2. All in all, a totally successful Thanksgiving!

I am thankful for continuing this way of life, even throughout the holidays!

Love the picture. Our little dog could not figure out the fancy tablecloth and settings and sitting down to lovely dinner and the long prayer of thanksgiving just completely undid him. He was crying before hubs said amen. Such little creatures of habit!!

13 hour fast ...7am breakfast of protein 11am feast meal but careful with portions and all sugar free and gluten free for diabetes and celiac 2pm desert of planned ice cream and side of ham for protein balance 6pm small meal of protein followed by two pints of ice water sipping through the evening - Very pleased that I stuck to plan and will be interesting to see what fasting blood sugar does tomorrow. Planning heavy protein and water and ACV in my tea tomorrow .

It's Wed and lots of prepping food today.

I started a 24 hour fast yesterday by eating dinner last night at 7PM and I will fast all day (skipped breakfast) until 7PM dinner tonight. Thursday morning just coffee until Turkey time!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and safe travels to all who will be on the roads.

13 hour fasting yesterday and today -
This is most comfortable for our way of living and the diabetic blood sugar stability but like to stretch it to 14 or 15 once once a week - I am surprised at not being so hungry any more and being able to recognize difference between "food hungry" and blood sugar hungry... there is a difference!

10min on the bike went easier today - plus started a seated exercise plan for the next 30 days.

13 hr fasting

I feel like I am finally catching up after the vacation, wedding week and last week reception - I take longer to bounce back but noticed I have woken without the alarm clock two mornings in a row so know I am catching up.

Too much running lately so we are going to enjoy a quiet Thanksgiving at home is the plan. Daughter is needing time to enjoy being a newlywed and will have new family to participate with in the city if they choose. I look forward to peace and quiet and simple Thankfulness.

Kathleen I make the best mashed potatoes - I boil them, of course, and then put them in the mixer with the skins on. I put in the milk/cream and butter, and stir - then take the mixer element out and rinse off the skins that have accumulated. You have mashed potatoes that have flavor, specks of skins in, and a tiny bit of fiber. I'm not doing it for the fiber, but that little bit of skin adds so much flavor! And I use garlic salt rather than regular salt. So yummy!!. back in the days.... Everyone asks me to make the potatoes, but not this year. I think they think I might make mashed cauliflower or something. I think they're scared of keto.

14 hour fast again
got back on the exercise bike 12.5 minutes yesterday but had some chest tightness so will not be able to do that every day - going to do 5 minutes tonight as it really helped the knee flexibility then try 10 tomorrow. Dr encouraged some bike time each day as well as minimum weight bearing steps for continued slow weight loss as well as mobility. with birthday #70 coming up in February, I want to work at both for quality of life.

KD you are so busy - I delight in reading your adventures! Must put more effort into getting to know you other girls better so I can appreciate your efforts and successes too. Blessings to each.

Kathleen I like your new profile picture!! And the maroon quilt. Love it!

We are going to the in-laws. They said bring nothing. So I will bring wine and make a (keto) pumpkin cheesecake and eat turkey. Who knows what else, but if memory serves over the past 30 years, potatoes, yams with marshmallows, broccoli/cheese/crouton bake, buns, urgh. It'll be a struggle but at least there is turkey right? Maybe I'll make a cole slaw too, just so I have a side.

I'll be happy if I maintain in Nov - will be ecstatic if I lose! There is so much going on, as well as travel, lots of company, social events, etc. Still want to get to 140 by January 1.

KAREN Wow what a work out that event turned out to be for you. The birthday party sounds like fun.
This week my plan is to fast all day on Wednesday just breakfast at 7am and then my next meal will be breakfast on Thursday morning. Lots of holiday food preparation on Wed to keep me busy. Then keep my head on straight during Thanksgiving day and fast again on Friday. Everything I am making on Thurs is Keto except for the whole sweet potatoes and the white mashed potatoes. DH wants the white mashed - I would have just skipped making them but you know.
Hoping to get a few more pounds lost by end of November. So those two fasting days should help.

Enjoy your party tonight KD, I am actually going to a birthday party tonight too. We are going bowling and then to her sisters house. It is a surprise so should be fun. I know there will be lots of carb food though...cake! yikes.

Linda good job on the 14 hr fast, today is my fast day as well, 15 hrs...mabye 16.

Gah. The Wine Auction was so much work. And not enough people to do it all. I wore cowboy boots and a cute outfit, thinking I would sit and cashier. NO. I stood and cashiered, which meant leaning over a short table to run the credit card machine. So my feet and back hurt and then I couldn't find my car in the weird parking garage. I got home near midnight. Tired today.

My sister is throwing me a 60th BD party tonight. At my house. So I've cleaned the entire thing (which is always good, so I'm not complaining) and plan on having 10-15 ladies over tonight. Evidently she's having problems with RSVPs (why are they not in fashion anymore?) and so we don't really know how many are coming. So I've ordered a BBQ spread to feed 10-15 and I'm sure we'll have enough food. The people are the main thing, and I know a few will bring hors doerves. How do you spell that word anyway?

Fasting until dinner.

14 hour fast and content. Scales back to 203 so would like them to keep going down but will probably settle back to gentle course unless I really hit the stationary bike hard enough to get metabolism increased a bit.

I had planned to fast yesterday, but a friend wanted to come over and have dinner and talk. Since DH is out of town, I saw no reason not to... so had a brisket salad. I love Texas BBQ...

Today is the Rodeo Wine Competition. I work from 8-12, am having lunch with some ladies from 12-2, and then the Competition from 4-11. What a day. After this, no more Wine Committee until next year. I will be a cashier, so probably not on my feet all night like last year.

Its always nice to go away and celebrate but its nice coming back and getting back to routine too. The Brazilian steak house sounds great. One pound up after that is not bad at all, you'll take that off easily.

Linda, glad that you survived the wedding and the Dr's appt went well!

Today is my Friday, no work tomorrow! I think I will do my fast tomorrow. The scale was happy this morning. Its not going down fast but it is going down.

KD you are amazing!!! and a definitely a lovely family - Happy for your health and for the good times and back to the battle.
I have survived the wedding, local reception and Dr appointment and all the spurges and ready to just sleep for 48 hours or so - not going to happen but can dream!!! Scales up three for all that and FBS way up this morning but will be settling tomorrow after a day of egg fast = 0 carbs!! If will continue 12 to 14 hours and will keep with other plans as have been for months finetuning with low cal days per week, fighting to keep walking ability and dr encouraged more stationary bike and in general very pleased with the shape I am in for the shape I am in! Every marker improved or stable including very good EKG for the heart - I am pleased and also ready to pursue health!

Thanks everyone!! I had a wonderful time but am ready to be back in the saddle and getting back on track. When I returned yesterday, my sister took me out to a Brazilian steakhouse - she wanted to make sure I had something I could eat!!

I told her I could eat almost anywhere... but she doesn't eat red meat so this was true love. They had chicken and port and lamb on skewers for her, so she had plenty. At the end, a free birthday piece of cheesecake (that was nice of them) so I ate 3 bites and that was it.

Today I'm up one pound from traveling and the whole weekend, but not worried. Right back to work.

Here is a picture of my lovely family!

I had 3 24 IF days this week - felt very good. I'm inching downward on the scale, and this is a sustainable pace for me.

I'm taking the weekend off for travel to CO - my birthday is Monday and getting back on the regular schedule on Tuesday. My sister is throwing a girls only party for me next Friday - it' BBQ so will totally be keto!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

The unplanned fast and chill yesterday brought the scales to solid 202.0#now to maintain that through the baking, decorating, serving luten free wedding cake at daughter's local wedding .reception this weekend as I have Dr appointment 9:40 am Monday morning -

I've been doing OMAD (one meal a day) all week long in preparation for my trip to Colorado on Friday. I will not be under 145, but that's okay. Now I hope to be under 145 by the end of November. It is what it is, and I will enjoy my trip regardless.

Keep warm - stay strong, and enjoy the day!!

I really hope your back is feeling better KD, nothing worse than a sore back! Glad that you were able to adjust what you do at work...and get some stretching in.

Tuesday is the day that I have been doing my IF. So this week I worked Monday and Tuesday so decided to do Wednesday. Then, I decided that I wanted to do a longer run today, so ended up not doing it again today (and ended up not running long afterall). So....maybe tomorrow! lol

Hope the next two days go quickly for you!

Woke up with a very sore back - have no idea why. Good thing we have no patients today - all I will be doing at work is paying bills.

I can work a lot of stretching into that!!

Hope everyone has a great day - 2 more days until my vacation!!

Kathleen my birthday is next Monday the 12th!! I will do the best I can between now and then, and then continue doing the best I can until the end of the month as well.

I posted on Team Keto the exciting news - my hubs is going to start keto when he comes back from Vegas the 17th November!! He saw a co-worker lose 50 pounds recently (her husband 55) with no exercise, and he's ready to do it.

I think my life will be much easier, although now the pressure is on to make complete meals that satisfy. When I do my meat and veg he (now) has a starch in addition, so it will be interesting to see what he thinks when he doesn't have rice/potatoes/bread in addition to the food I have been cooking.

Does your husband do keto too?

I am interested in trying dairy free but probably not right now. Too much going on, and it's another complexity that I will tackle once I have all my ducks in a row.

The girls and I will be painting scarves while in Colorado - I'm not too artsy, but I'll enjoy spending a few hours with them while my husband and boys do something manly. Probably go shooting.

I got my flu shot today, along with #1 of my pneumonia shot. #2 in a year. I work with mostly older people, so I also need shingles, but there is a shortage evidently.

KAREN I didn't realize your sons were newly married and young too. I agree they have plenty of time to start a family if that is their choice. Both my daughter and son married in their early thirties and had children mid thirties. DD has one girl and DS has two little boys, so just the three.

You have worked so hard I am sure you can make under 145 this month. I can't believe how fast I lost by not eating dairy in October. Maybe you could do that for a few weeks to quickly reach your goal? Even if you don't reach that "Birthday" weight you must feel so much better than you did when you first started Keto. I know I do. I probably will stay dairy-free because I feel so good.

Keep going ..you still have about a week?

I do not (yet) have any grandchildren, and both my kids are pretty newly married (2 years). They were both young when they got married (23 and 25) and married their first girlfriend. The wives are wonderful young women - I am so happy for both of them. But since they got married so young, I would hope they'd wait a bit. Save up some money, learn how to live on their own, get used to being married first.

My husband and I got married when I was 29, I had them at 32 and 34, and I think that was excellent for us. But like a lot of other things, this is something I'm not in charge of, so grandbabies will come when they come. I hope I'm retired by then, because I will not get to see them much if not.

I am struggling to get under 145 - I've been trying for weeks. So my November goal is to get under 145 and stay there. Then December - I'd like to be under 140 by the new year!!

wow that is awesome Kathleen! I figure if I am serious and disciplined I can get to my goal of 130 by the end of November. For me it will mostly come down to my nighttime snacking. That's my weakness.

Hello. I did lose 10 pounds in October, which was very unrealistic. But since going dairy free I figured I would have a good monthly loss. I am hoping to lose 2 pounds a week in November and since we have five weeks this month I may lose another 10 pounds. It would be great to break a zero and be in the 150s.

KAREN That is a wonderful birthday gift going to see your sons. Do you have any grand children? I hope you have a great time.

Karen, that's great that you are going to see both of your boys, hope you have an awesome time. You are right.....LC and IF will be here when you get back. Just do your best and you might surprise yourself.

I guess for November goals, for me, just to keep on keeping on. My lowest weight this week was 133.5 but this morning I was 135. So, I don't care how slow it comes (130) as long as it keeps coming. I think I would like to keep doing the IF once or maybe twice a week.

I'll have to remember that for next year! We did buy candy - and now have a lot left over. However, I have not dipped into it. I will find a good use for it... (and not in my belly!)

I am going to Colorado in one week for the weekend. It's my birthday, and my husband is taking me to see both of my boys (and their wives) and I'm so excited!

My plan is to do the best I can food wise, but not stress. LC and IF are here when I get back! Then my next goal is to get under 140. I'm taking it 5 pounds at a time.

Anyone else have November goals?
