I'm not a big juice drinker, but throw a fancy pants latte in front of me and I'm in heaven. I've had to scale back: I DO drink a bottled light Frappuccino in the morning (100 cals) or I get an iced coffee with nonfat milk & sugar free syrup. They're OK, but I long for the real (fatty, high calorie) deal more often than I should admit to!

Well, I'm of the opinion if I going to drink up my calories it's going to be in a chocolate mint martini, so I'll leave the fruit juices alone and save the martini for a VERY special occasion--lol.

I love juice, too. I get mine, but keep calories lower by making smoothies for lunch. I use a 1/2 of a peach or nectarine, about 10 seedless grapes, 1/4 cup frozen blackberries, 1/2 cup unsweetened apple juice, and 1/4 Dannon Light and Fit yogurt. Less than 150 calories and I get my juice fix.

Remember portion control. Have your juice when you need it, but only a 1/2 c. serving.

The sugar...man, that gets me every time! I found a recipe for a morning wak-up smoothie that is wonderful and filling and I use the Tropicana 50 - it has less sugar and calories, but it tastes exactly the same as regular orange juice. But, I agree - every so often - about once a month - I just crave orange juice.

I am only a water person now. It comes down to what foods you think are worth it and controlling your portions. I'll admit there are sometimes when nothing is going to satisfy me, but oj. But, they sell tiny 6oz cartons at a cafe near my job and I grab one with my breakfast prob 2x per month. I never regret it because I didn't drink the normal size carton which is 1.5 servings and because I counted it towards my overall intake.

I would say, try actual fruits instead which fill u up a little better and shrink the portion size that you drink.

I normally pick up the POMS pomegranate juice which I know is insanely high cal. But I have to cut it with Water (1 to make it a bigger glass and 2 because its such strong taste!).

But again for me Juice is a once in a while thing.

Yep, it's the sugar that gets ya! Even if it is 100% juice, think of how many pieces of fruit you would have to squeeze to get that much! Far more than you would probably ever eat! I try to avoid drinking my calories, but I still drink it once or twice a month. But, in a glass, not from a bottle. Those bottles are really like 4 servings of juice. A serving of juice is 4-6 oz!

I don't have a problem with drinking my calories because I drink lots of water, ice tea, and crystal light or the generic one from walmart I love the stuff!

Sugar. I know, I don't usually have juice, orange juice once in a blue moon when we have a big weekend breakfast. So yummy, but no high in cals...

Nutritionist want us to east our fruit, higher in fiber, more nutrients, ect. But orange juice just calls to me once or 2x a month!

I woke up this morning craving juice. On my way to work I stopped and bought some 100% grape juice. It was awesome - and then I realized it had mucho calories - like over 200 calories - I usually don't even eat that many calories for breakfast! My egg mug is 174! It was good though.

Why does juice have to have so many calories?
