Running and yoga.

I did C25K last year and ran my first 5K... in about 45 minutes. I am re-starting it this week with a goal of eventually doing the 5K in 30 minutes!

i would love to run. i am always so inspired by people in their own heads running down the sidewalk. i am envious of them, so i've decided today i want to run a 5K in October. this gives me 4 months to build up the endurance to run 3.1 miles. :)

oh my, I love this question! But considering I've been zero impact for the past year... ANYTHING!!!!

Seriously though, I want to get back to running most of all... Zumba, DDR, Wii Fit, any latin dance, I've started belly dancing again (minimal impact & I've got lots of belly, lol), biking, hiking, kickboxing, swimming.... ok, I'm just ready!!! Let the fun begin!!

I would love to be able to dance. I want to be able to do a cartwheel again. And someday, I want to be able to hike all the way to the top of Enchanted Rock without becoming exhausted. Made it less than halfway up last time we tried, and did some damage to one of my feet in the process. Ugh.

Skating. I skate reasonably well, but...I want to kick some freaking A$$ at it. My endurance sucks terribly, so that desperately needs to improve. I'd like to be fast enough to have a prayer of *catching* the fastest girl on my team. I don't have to be the best, but I am tired of being in the 'slow and lame' group.

I want to be able to take the big, giant, massive hill on my walking route at a fast walk and not stop till I get to the top.

Someday...someday way far in the future (maybe only in fantasyland) I would like to be able to take on the stairs at the football stadium of this High School by my house. My derby coach *runs* them every Sunday. I hate stairs, and I hate running. I'll know that I have really made it when I can make it up those without wanting to die.

Mostly I want to do that last part so that I can kick a$$ at skating. Leg strength = awesome fast skater.

The floor I skate on is cement. Not great to fall on, but at least it's not abrasive like concrete.

When I first started skating, I was "so gonna" get out there and skate at the park, and the school playground down the street... yeah, not so much. Concrete hurts, and I need things to be flat, lol.

I try and remember to do wall-sits everytime I take a bathroom break from my desk. Usually I'm so frazzled that I only manage it about twice a week. Not all that effective at that rate.

I've heard the workout DVD listed at the sincityskates website is a killer. I don't know that I'm quite ready for that. No... not quite.

That's how I feel too! I'm not afraid to hurt myself because I've fallen before. It's just when you practice there's always others to hurt around you lol.

I found an outdoor rink that no one is ever at but it's concrete so I don't really want to fall too much on that lol.

I'm going to try the foot lifting and see if that'll help. I was looking at some derby workouts and they say to try to wall squats everytime you get a chance cause that helps build up the muscles big time.

@Stephisneat - It's scary!

The last time I tried I fell HARD. It was a good fall, right on the thigh, but still. Now I've got the scaredies.

The derby coach (he hosts Adult Night skating sessions) says I should practice skating with one foot lifted for a while, to build strength and balance.

Mostly I'm just afraid of, oh, crushing the life out of a toddler, since most of the sessions I go to are heavily peppered with speed bumps.

I was a H.S. and college athlete as well, and still managed to avoid doing any serious running.

I'd love the run/walk a half marathon (walked three half marathons but want to incorporate some running)
Roller skating (have the skates but am too shy to get out with them)
Martial arts /self defense (looking at schools)
Tennis (Played competitively throughout school in the past but knee issues have me sidelined for now)

Running, is a big one for me. I was a jock when I was in HS, but for some reason running after a ball was way easier than running just to run was. I've started doing it, so I'm going to get there soon. Hoping to run my first 5k this Summer.

Other's would be swing dancing and kick boxing.

Oh man there are so many, I want to do kickboxing, martial arts, dancing, and i would love to learn how to love running. I've tried the C25K program and I hated it, I've always wanted to be that girl that gets up in the morning rain or shine and could just run for miles. I want to be able to rock climb, and ride a bike, and surf (i hear surfing is a really hard workout) I want to try everything.

I am loving the fact that I love to run! I always wanted to be a runner... my sis is a runner and my dad is too. It always made me frustrated as a teen that I couldn't do it... now my dad is crazy jealous of me.

I want to be good at running. So far my longest run was only a little over 2 miles. I would really like to be able to run a 5k or better though.

I would also like to do some kind of martial art. I have a cheerleading background so I can already jump, kick and stretch, I would just like to apply these skills in a martial arts setting.

Roller derby. I tried it for a few weeks but I couldn't keep up because I'm so out of shape. I have the skates and I still use them at least 2-3 times a week. Just no beating up on people yet lol.

Don't worry about falling Staceys32, everyone does it and it really doesn't hurt that bad if you have all the pads on. It's scary at first but once you do it you kind of go "oh that's it?" lol

I would love to dance again. I grew up dancing with my brothers. We would watch videos and learn new dance moves. It's funny to think about it because my body definitely doesn't move like it used to. I mainly did Hip Hop Dancing. I would also love to learn some Latin dances. I am trying out Zumba so hopefully I will start to slim down and pick up some of my old dance moves...
I would also love to run. I have tried jogging a little during my walking times but it hurts quite a bit. I can hear my knees cracking as my body jars against the impact so that is one that I will definitely have to work up to...

Jogging, dancing and roller skating.

Taking the first steps by checking out couch to 5k.

I really want to learn how to dance( Hip Hop or something that I can do at Girl's Night Out at the club without feeling like I'm making a fool out of myself), I think I will try to find a DVD where I can learn at home. (any suggestions)

Roller Skating - I have the skates. (Hubby bought them for me) now I just need the courage and balance to use them. I so afraid of falling and hurting myself.

Oooooo, this is a long one!

Number one would be running - but only after my knees and my asthma stop bothering me. I'm guessing it's a mental stumbling block, though, which brings me to...

Number two: Dancing! I'm actually practicing more with ballroom right now - I love the Latin dances! - but someday I would like to take classes in hip-hop as well.

Number three: Martial arts - not kickboxing, but actual self-defense along the lines of taekwondo, eskrima, or Krav Maga - because I've always wanted to kick ass.

And number 3.5: Capoeira. I've tried it before, and it was a combination of asthma and lack of coordination that kept me away, but... well, it's Brazilian, and it's dancing *and* kicking ass at the same time. What's not to love there?

I haven't been at this for long, and as I'm such a clutz, I did myself an injury the day I found this site - so, no exercise minutes thus far... but!

I dream of running. I can already feel the wind in my hair and hear my feat thudding on the ground as the k's whip past me ... oh I do have a dream!

And Bollywood! How much fun does that look - I have an awsome at home DVD - cant wait to heal so I can finally use it!! lol

OMG....I have fantasies of being able to run for miles while looking good and having fun doing it.

I also aspire to be able to hold the most perfect bakasana pose.

For me? Dancing! Dancing! Dancing!

Hip-hop, Jazz, Tango, Salsa, Merengue, Belly Dancing, Swing... I want to learn it all!

Right now I'm working on Hip-Hop and I LOVE IT! It doesn't even feel like exercise. (Well, that is until I'm super sore the next day.)

I love the way my body moves when I dance. It feels awesome, and it's a BLAST. And even though I've been overweight my whole life, I've always been fairly agile for my size, light on my feet, and able to control the movements of my body pretty well. With practice, I'm sure I'll get reeeally good.

I would also like to be able to jog/run a marathon. It's a daunting task, but if I work my way up, I know I can challenge myself to do it one day =)

What about you? What would you like to be good at? So good that people stare, in awe, and say "I wish I could do that!"
