LUSH isn't expensive! The Celestial moisturizer is very deep moisturizing and only $18 I think. SO AMAZING

Mary Kay is great, but I'm a regular user of Oil of Olay. They make a good unscented for sensitive skin. It just sinks right in.

My best skin tips would have to be mostly just to sweat it out. Do some cardio, sweat out the dirt and grime, and then wash (aka, take a wet paper towel and just wipe the sweat off, and then dry it with another towel) your face immediately after. After that I like to go into my gym's steam room for a while, probably 5-10 minutes, then wash my face again. My skin has hugely improved since I've started doing it, and I haven't needed any moisturizers at all. It really helps your skin to naturally get rid of the oil in places there's too much, and give it more moisture where it needs it. It evens it out so well! I have mixture skin, which it sounds like you do too. I'd try this beyond any other moisturizer.

Except, I will add, I love anything by St Ives. Just haven't needed it lately. (:

Clinique all the way...start with a small 3-step system, asked to get skin typed but from what it sounds like: Mild Facial Soap, Clarifying Lotion 3 (this will help with that flakiness and allow the moisturizer to soak in) and Dramatically Different Moisturing Lotion only lightly dabbed on those dry spots. Then ALL OVER use the Comfort On Call...it will take care of the dryness and also calms the skin during the tough winter time, helps w/chapped skin too.

If you have a facial wash you really like, then I'd still suggest getting a small Clarifying Lotion 3 (don't let them start you on #2, the 3 will give you that great exfoliation w/o using a scrub which can spread breakout) and the Comfort On Call.

(some one suggested moisture in control...not for what you're describing, it will actually might make your skin drier...it's mean for oil controlling)

I love derma-e hyaluronic acid night and day cremes, intensive rehydrating formula. It's all natural and not tested on animals. I have combination skin, dry and peeling in some places and oily in others. This stuff has been amazing for me. I buy it at Whole Foods.

I second the Mary Kay moisturizer vote! It works really well, many of their products are hypoallergenic, and they don't test on animals. :-)

I learned not too long ago that the ingredient that makes most chemical moisturizers effective is urea... as in from urine and the lotion honeymoon has been totally OVER for me since then.

I've had excellent luck with 100% aloe vera gel. Better than I ever had with any lotion. It works best if you put it on right out of the shower, before you dry off. I use it on my body as well as my face. I find when I use it right out of the shower it doesn't get that weird sticky feeling I remember from sunburns!

I swear my face would fall off without my Mary Kay skin care. Yes I sell it, but used it for years before I sold it. You can look up to see who is a consultant around you to get it, or email me and I'd mail it to you if you'd like some.

Check out the Korres line. It's a Greek company that makes organic skin care and cosmetics (you can get it at Sephora). I got hooked on them through their lip butters. I used to use Body Shop skin care, but I didn't like how their lip butters turned my lips pasty. The Korres ones are deeply moisturizing and gently tinted. (Wild Rose is my favorite.) In the winter, I use their Thyme Honey Moisturizer in the winter and the Wild Rose in the summer.

All the choices are yours - you only have to make them! I'm choosing 'today' over 'someday'!

Aah, moisturizers...

Department store brands: Either Clinique Moisture In-Control OR Lush brand's Enzymion (I love all Lush products - they're 100% natural and never, EVER tested on animals!)

Drugstore brand: Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew

(Of all three the Lush is my favorite, but it's also priciest and tough to find if you're not in a major metro area... unless you order from the website!)

As far as regimen goes, I exfoliate and wash morning and night using either Neutrogena Deep Clean Scrub (the clear one with the blue bubbles in it) OR Lush Ocean Salt. I moisturize morning and night as well, and use Ponds makeup removing wipes after a workout (so my pores don't get clogged with sweat and ickiness).

I use St. Ives moisturizer with Elastin. No animal testing, no funny smell. Goes on smooth. My nose gets flaky in the winter too but this moisturizer seems to help. I use all St. Ives products (green tea facial cleanser than the moisturizer). I have good skin though.

Good Luck

I have pretty good skin, but in the winter, especially in the dry Colorado air, it's gotten very dry. Especially my cheeks and forehead (my nose is actually pretty oily). It flakes sometimes and I hate it! Does anyone know of a really good face moisturizer?? Preferably one that doesn't have tons and tons of chemicals, and no alcohol (which I hear dries the skin out).

Also, what kind of facial regimens do you have to keep it soft?

Thanks for any help you lovely, beautiful, fabulous ladies can offer =)
