LAMBCHOPS67 when you input your own recipe into Spark Recipe it asks you how many servings there are and then it calculates the calories when you hit the button that says calculate info. If you do not put in the number of servings it is preset to calculate it as if it is one serving, you need to change that serving #.

Spark does their fat grams in whole numbers. They always round up. So, since there IS fat in a banana, they round it up to 1 gram. If something had 1.3 grams, they would round that up to 2.

It is part of the reason you have a range for intakes instead of a set number... not only will you eat different foods every day and have different numbers, but also for ease of tracking.

I have found that not all foods match up on the nutrition tracker compared to what it says on the item I'm looking up. I find myself entering more foods myself or using other members entries than the ones spark puts on there.

I don't see a problem with checking another site if you feel something isn't accurate. And since you have to have so much fat in a day, if spark is saying it has more fat than it really does, you could be under and not know it. The same for anything else you are tracking. I know I have trouble with my potassium tracking because that isn't always included on the nutrition info on some of the spark entries and I have to look it up elsewhere. Luckily the grocery I go to puts alot of nutrition info on their baked goods, deli, and meat items.

I guess I wouldn't worry about the fat in apples and bananas. Compared to mayo or butter, they are negligable.

I was having a problem putting in my own recipe with the nutrition tracker. It was counting the whole recipe as one serving! Are you supposed to go through sparkrecipes.com to do that?

I dont have a problem with good fats, but i didn't think apples OR bananas had any. And if it's just .2 and .4, then why is SPs nutritional tracker showing it as 1 gr each. I am just wondering how accurate the automatic nutritional counts on SP are.

I agree with TRAVELNISTA, I love the nutrition tracker right here on sparks and also the ability to put in my own recipe's to see how good (or bad) they are.

You can go to fitday.com and check out their site. An apple has about .2 grams and a banana has about .4 grams - not much!

Fitday.com is a great site for logging in your foods you eat and it keeps track of fats, proteins etc. - you can even put in customized foods -

Good luck!

You need fats in your diet too ... the healthier fats are the natural fats like avocado and almonds.

In defense of avocados - they are high in natural fat (the healthy kind), they are also high in fiber. I love them.

Sure, there are fats in freggies. I know avocados are higher in fats, but they are so tasty...

I had both a granny smith apple and a banana today, and my SP nutritional tracker gave each 1 fat gram. I know they have calories and carbs, but fat?
