Hello I am a mother of three and have a hard time tracking my food intake. I do ok with drinking water, however also need help with being motivated. Please add me to the list. emoticon

Greetings everyone, as the first day of spring approaches (no promise of warm weather ) I am ready to go outside and hope to find some folks that might be willing to go outside with me to walk. I am the single parent of a fun, loving 10 year old daughter. If you have a son or a daughter - that's older or younger - it does not matter. We will be glad to take walks with you so that I can reach my weight loss goal. Working towards my goal and achieving it will make it possible for me to DO more things with my daughter. I am very excited about that!!!

We reside in Bel Air, Maryland and there are some great parks and walking trails in the area that are calling my name and yours! emoticon

I joined SparkPeople several months ago and have some challenges logging in daily to track my food and exercise; so when I found myself getting behind . . . I abandoned the site for a while. (Bad idea!) I am thankful that I added SparkPeople as my homepage because it became a reminder of what I wanted and needed to be doing to achieve my weight loss goal. So, I am back. I figure, if I do not enter the information into the tracker daily - no problem BUT continue to track the information and then enter it when I can. Gaining the points is an incentive but if you do not get the points - the information is vital information ALSO. And when I follow the guidance that is provided by using the trackers then weight loss is its own reward.

So, here I am - back on the journey and trying to stay on track this time. I have set up my eating menu for the week (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) - went to the store and bought the groceries I need. I have a plan for getting in my cardio and strength training exercise - three days in the gym. AND since Wednesday is the first day of Spring, Rita's opens so I plan to get a Sugar-Free Rita's as my reward ONLY If I make it to the gym AND work out three days this week.

Please add me as "your" friend. I am often motivated and encouraged by others stories and I hope that I might be a source of encouragement and inspiration for you.

Hi Everyone! I am a newly single mom (split up with their father after being together for 12 yrs - never married- in August 2010) of 3 children 9 yr old son and twin 7 yr old girls.

I am trying hard to exercise daily, I try to watch what I eat - do my best during breakfast and lunch, supper is my challenge. I am in school full time and work part time and I feel like I am always busy busy busy. I try to take time for myself and there are times where i notice I haven't eaten or drank anything for hours!

Hoping to find some wonderful sparkbuddies. Feel Free to add me as well!

I am a mom of 3 teenagers and a 20 year old. Two of the kids live with me full time. I just restarted my journey to healthier living and need a spark buddy to help me along. Willing to give phone number to right person so we can talk and text.

I have a six year old daughter too. Not good at tracking my exercise or what I eat, even though I do manage to drag my butt out of bed most mornings to workout. Maybe a buddy would help. Add me too.

I could use a buddy, too. I know the stakes: the number of healthy years I have with my children (six year old twins). But I'm having trouble focusing. One coworker keeps a basket of chocolate a few feet from my desk. Another coworker has oreo cheesecake cupcakes in the office kitchen. And my daughter's science fair project was "how much sugar makes the best chocolate chip cookie" (5 batches of cookies at home!). Single parenthood makes it tough to find time or childcare coverage for exercise. I do best when I make a daily meal plan in the morning -- it's more effective for me than tracking what I've already put in my mouth. But I don't do it for more than a day here or there unless I have someone I'm supposed to send my plan to. Anyone want to exchange a daily check in?

I am a single mother of 3, ages 18, 9,8. I too am taking a run at getting healthy. We are around the same starting point. I am unable to exercise at this point due to bad disc in back, but hoping for improvement shortly. I have found entering my daily intake to keep track of eating has made me a mindful eater and I am actually losing weight for the first time in 5 years, despite immense outer stressors.
I think we could be helpful to one another, want to have a go at it?
Update- 1 year latter I have had back surgery and recivered, I have lost 81 pounds by tracking food and walking. I have been maintaining and am now getting ready to get that last 20 pounds off. I will be on SP more so if anyone wants to buddy up and check in that would be great!

I am looking for a Spark Buddy to keep me on track. I am a 40 year old single mom of 1 daughter age 6. I like to go for walks when it is not icy or snowy out. This wintet has been hard on me with all the storms we have had here in NY City. I have about 100 pounds to lose to get to a healthy BMI. If you would like to be a Spark Buddy add me. Thanks.
