My daughter suffers from SAD and I used to, though it doesn't seem to plague me as much in recent years as before. My DD uses a light box and she gets outside when she can. Being in the light outside seems to help her.

Just a daily reminder: smile and laugh...a lot, look for positive traits in people, compliment yourself and others, focus on feeling good, reach out to people in need and focus on the present and the 24 hours in front of you.

I hadn't heard of light ear plugs, but Googled it and saw it there. Interesting.

My light box sits on a small table, but it is so helpful. Vitamin D3 also helps,

Our light box is about the size of a small suitcase. My daughter thinks it helps her a lot.

I have been thinking about getting one of the lights to help with the affects of SAD. All of my life I've gotten super depressed and lose a ton of energy and creativity in the winter months when it gets darker. My grades used to drop significantly in school when I was a kid - then when the days started getting longer and warming up in the early spring, I would perk up. Do these lights really work, and how much space do they take up?

My daughter has a "light box" she sits beside each morning. I think it helps with SAD.

I do. I have to force myself to keep active. I get out and walk daily. The fresh air and sunlight helps. But it still is difficult to get out the door most days.

As we move into shorter days and cooler weather, does anyone have trouble with SAD/seasonal depression? Any tips or things to try?
