Momin09, I'm sorry you are having a hard time. I know how you feel because at times I just want to scream when it seems so many others have such an easier time. I know it is difficult to stay positive. Just wanted to give you a hug!

I don't. I'm done trying to be positive. The only thing that I'm positive about is that TTC SUCKS!

You're so right CANDACEMM. But in my country doctors just tell you to go on trying if you haven't TTC for a year yet. I would love to go in earlier but I'll have to wait. The 1-year mark is in my calendar though... (as if I could forget...)

And like others have said, I am trying to focus on fitness as well. It will be easier to bounce back if we are in shape before!

I love looking at AF as "a step closer". I to some degree have thought of it that way myself, just not worded so clearly.

I have been focusing on paying down debt in the meantime to make things as easy as possible later. I wanted to be basically debt free before the baby but knowing that it won't be immediately possible (for either one) we decided to go ahead and start baby making. emoticon

Can I take this time to tell you ladies how important it is to ask for help when the time is right? As someone who had a difficult time getting pregnant (and I figured that I would due to endometriosis) I tried on my own for a year (I'm under age 35). After a year I decided to reach out for help and went to a fertility clinic and began testing. Our consultation was in November 2013, testing began in mid November and continued through December. We discovered that I should have a hysteroscopy to 'investigate' a spot outside of my fallopian tube. Surgery was in February and the spot was removed (scar tissue/adhesion from endometriosis & prior surgeries to treat endo). I had my IUI on March 22 and discovered that I was pregnant on April 4.

Asking for help and seeking treatment is nothing to be ashamed of. Millions of women suffer from some degree of infertility. Not everyone is comfortable talking about it ... but I'd like to try to erase the stigma if at all possible.

Good question. I read somewhere about someone who thought of every cycle as "a step closer to our baby" even if AF came. I guess in a way that is true.
I'm trying to focus on being healthy and doing stuff that I won't have time for when a baby comes. But I still struggle sometimes.

Joking around is certainly one way to help ease the stress of it all! I find myself getting down the longer this takes. And it IS nice to know that I'm not the only one and it doesn't happen the first month. I know what you mean!

I try to talk to myself in a positive way. Usually if I'm down, I back off from stressing over the details of TTC. Exercise sometimes helps me so I can focus on something I can control but it's not always an easy thing to keep up either!

I think that is why i was searching for a group like this. It's supportive to know not every one gets preggers the day they try or by "accident"......The longer it takes the harder it is to stay positive. It helps to joke. I find my self quoting Marissa Tomei when she was in My Cousin Vinny then hubby and I just start laughing and try, try again. It's actually funny when my hubby does the quote. I lately have been changing my terms from "IF" we have to kids to "when" . that actually helps some

nothing is impossible, the word itself says i'm possible!!!

making it possible one step at a time

I had a pretty difficult time trying to stay positive. Month after month my cycle would come and we had no luck. I ended up having to reach out for medical help. Hubby and I went through testing (which took longer than expected) and we had our first IUI this past March. I was a nervous wreck and worried for two weeks until my beta test.

I tried and tried to keep telling myself to be positive, to stay positive, that we will get pregnant. I think that it's much easier said than done - trying to remain positive month after month becomes very difficult.
