I definitely want to take a babymoon! I am in the travel business and it seems to be a growing trend. However, recently there have been a few incidents where people have delivered early and have had to fork over a lot of money for their medical expenses. So if we do we definitely won't be going late in the game. My husband and I are hoping to be pregnant in April or May ( if everything works according to plan). I won a free 4 night stay in Jamaica so we will be using that for our babymoon but hoping to go in June so we don't have to worry too much!

We didn't with my first because he was early. I don't think that I've ever thought about this before, so I'm not sure.

I'm taking a babymoon beginning tomorrow! I'll be 28 weeks tomorrow and we're headed to Maine for a week. I cannot wait! I'm so excited for a little time away.

We went on a babymoon with #1 when I was about 7 months pregnant. Our reasoning was that we love to travel and it was the last time to have a trip by ourselves, without the stress of catering to the every need of a little one. Over all, it was very relaxing. We drove 4 hours to a family member's beach house, so that part was very cheap. One day while we were there, we drove a couple hours to Talahasee for an FSU football game. I'm glad we went since I don't think we should go to any this year with our little guy. He's 10 months now and not a fan of cheering crowds. The car time was a little rough on me, I had a lot of trouble with my feet swelling, but the rest of the trip was awesome.

So, that said, now we have a 10 month old, who will be who knows how old by the time we get pregnant this time, so I don't see it happening again. I've been pushing DH to use his family member's beach house again, but he doesn't want to take advantage. I think they prefer to have people using it or they wouldn't offer. But it's his family.

We decided not to due to wanting to save time for my maternity leave. However post-baby we already plan to have Grandma and Grandpa take the baby at some point so we can go wine tasting in Michigan! We love doing this and it would be nice to get away for 1 night to relax. Maybe spring time since I am due in November.

Goal: have a healthy pregnancy-due Nov 18, 2014

My husband and I love to travel, but this was actually the first summer we didn't really go anywhere! I think we both felt like we needed to save the money and the time and prepare for baby. Hopefully we will get back to our traveling ways, soon, though. I love going on adventures with him, and can't wait to take our child(ren) with us some day!

I agree with ANDCOWSFLY! And I'm not much of a traveler anyway. I can easily imagine wanting to be at home and making sure everything is in order before the baby comes, rather than going on vacation, just because it's the last chance to go.

I don't really understand the whole "Babymoon" thing. It's just a vacation with a different name. But I will probably vacay at some point while pregnant, yes.

We probably won't, but the way things are going, we'll need a 'make-a-baby-moon' trip! I know a lot of people who have gotten pregnant while relaxing on vacation.

My husband and I are trying to plan a trip this fall. We are hoping to get pregnant this fall as well. We weren't going to take a vacation, but we know it will be a long time before we are able to again.

If we do get pregnant I don't think we will. We didn't with our last one either. We are homebodies mostly and enjoy date nights once in a while. That would be enough for us.

I most likely will! We were talking about it before my miscarriage. I think we just want to have one last hurrah before we can't travel or do things like we do/did when did not have children.

I'm not sure...It depends on when we end up having a baby. We're still a year out from our start point of TTC. If everything goes according to (my) plan, I'll conceive in the late summer (June/July) and be pretty far along by the time our anniversary rolls around in March. We took a trip up to the mountains and rented a cabin this year, and that time frame would be well-placed for us to have some time together away from work to just chill out before baby. It's not far enough to warrant a flight in late pregnancy, so there wouldn't be a concern there.

Like I said, this is all "perfect world" plans in my head, so it could all go out the window when it comes time. We may not even be in the same city by the time we have a baby. Who knows?

Just call me La. Most everyone else does.

I'm not sure, but probably not. I think we'll want time off together after the baby is born. Besides, DH is a teacher and so if things work out soon (fingers crossed!) he'll still be teaching before, but will be out right after!

Thunder up!

So I keep hearing about couples going on "Babymoons" (like a honeymoon, or last trip before the baby is born). Do you plan on taking one?
