I'm trying to lose weight now. I have never heard of toxins being released. Maybe that happens when you crash diet? I'm just trying to eat as healthy as possible and not overeat, make sure I eat lots of fruit and veggies, drink plenty of water and exercise at least 30 minutes a day (regular exercise, nothing too intense). Maybe the weight loss doesn't happen fast this way, but at least I'm healthy and if I do get pregnant I can be sure I get in enough nutrients.

There is nothing worse than the uncertainty of the two week weight.

Fingers crossed for next time!

I understand perfectly what you are saying and I had full intentions to continue weight loss. However after reading that toxins get stored in fat and are released when you lose weight, and can affect the baby I have been less sure. I have no idea how significant those toxins.

What it has done is put pressure on me to lose as much as I can before getting pregnant. I don't want to get pregnant at this weight and not be able to lose wieght as my skin will never recover from being stretched that much.

So after a slight emotional break-down on Sunday I took a test and it was negative. So it at least eases my mind to continue on my weight loss path, but it also creates more questions and concerns in other areas. I made my routine female appt for the day after my goal date and hopefully I'll get some answers. Thanks for the comforting responses in the mean-time!

I saw my doctor in January and asked her the same question. She said it's OK to keep exercising while pregnant as long as you are exercising before hand. I also asked my trainers and they said they have specific programs they use for pregnancy and it changes every month.

I don't think it's weird at all! I know other women continue to exercise while they are pregnant, although probably not as intense as they once did. I hope this is it for you!

So DH and I are not actively trying, but prevention has never been on the table since DD was born last year. That being said I miscarried a pregnancy I didn't know I had until it was already too late in January, so I know I can be pregnant at any point. I have had three cycles since then, but they have been anywhere from 30-56 days long. On my current cycle I am currently at day 39. My weight loss goal date is approaching (June 10th) and I have no intentions of stopping my weight loss journey before then. My plan is to work to lose weight until June 10th and if I do not have AF by that weigh-in, on June 11th I plan to test (I will be just shy of 70 days which is my longest cycle ever).

I am doing this selfishly because I got pregnant last time before meeting my weight goal and stopped all exercise with my DD. I want to keep going with exercise and feel if I do lose some weight in the early stages of a pregnancy it won't be too bad on the baby and it will keep me motivated to keep my exercising up. Is this weird? Also sorry for the long post!
