I have been going to the doctor regularly (3 months after getting off the pill but not TTC yet, then 6 months after getting off the pill still not TTC yet) and discussed my concerns and asked lots of questions. I suffer from long and irregular cycles. My primary doctor told me she would not touch me until after 6 months TTC and then she'd do blood tests, ultrasounds, etc. My OB/GYN told me she would not give me a referral to a fertility specialist until after a year of TTC. We just started TTC in December, so we still have a ways to go but I figured I'd pass along the information.

Since you have been TTC for more than 6 months, seeing your doctor is advised but be prepared they may want you to wait a little longer. It depends on the doctor. I hope you get some answers.

Whether you think you can or think you can't - you are right.

Thanks Gabby. I decided to make the call. The earliest that I can get in is January 20. I am going to keep calling the doctors office to see if anything opens up. I know that I need to go to the doctor ... I'm just so scared of what I might hear.

Definitely see a doctor, and soon. I know it's scary, but it's worse not knowing. My husband and I have been trying to about three years and my doctor brought up fertility; I now wish I would have asked her sooner. I was diagnosed with PCOS this year. While the prognosis is scary, it makes me better able to face these issues and get pregnant. I'm supposed to begin treatments this week.

Good luck!

Husband I have been trying for nine months with no luck. I have been diagnosed with endometriosis and have had two surgeries to remove implants (both surgeries were over ten years ago). I'm 33 years old and will be 34 in January. I don't want to wait much longer to go see a doctor because of my history, but I'm really scared to see a doctor. I am afraid of what I might hear ....

Has anyone else been in the same boat as me?
What happens when you decide to take the step - I'm 100% clueless in what steps the doctor will take and what will happen.

Thanks,
Candace
