I wonder the same thing. My husband and I haven't really been trying but not preventing it either. My goal is to at least be down 20lbs when I get pregnant. Like people say as long as u are eating healthy and exercising your body will take of the rest. Just talk to your doctor and see what he/she say

My personal goal is to lose at least 20 more pounds before ttc, which would put me within a few pounds of the healthy bmi range for my height.

I chose this number by looking at where I want to be at the end of the pregnancy. My overall goal is to make it to the end of the pregnancy without crossing back over into the obese cateogry.

I was obese when my last child was born and I think the extra weight caused the blood pressure issues I had for most of my third trimester.

I can and I will - watch me!

Talking with your doctor is always important. Before I go in to my doctor though, I usually do a little research to help me start the conversation and also help me figure out exactly what questions I might have. Here are some articles that might help:

I agree, this is a great question to ask your Doctor. I got pregnant with my first child when I weighed 285lbs...and When I delivered I was 355lbs... Yes I gained way too much weight... I know! Anyway - I had a healthy pregnancy, worked every day until delivery. I had a normal delivery with no problems, and I have a happy healthy baby boy.

I'm not saying my story happens to everyone.. I'm just saying your Doctor knows your medical history and can answer this question for you safely.

Have a great day and good luck! :)

I think you should speak to your doctor about that...I think as long as your eating healthy and exercising regularly, the actual number on the scale doesn't matter...

I'm hoping my hubby and I can begin trying in a few months. What I'm curious to know if what is a good weight goal to begin trying?
