Congratulations YIYEHTOV! Such good news! Keep it coming people!

I don't know if it was the acupuncture or the power of positive thinking, but I have just been feeling really good about our fertility journey this cycle. I loved my first session of acupuncture. I left feeling like I had made progress, I was being pro-active, and it didn't involve another bottle of pills. I was nervous about acupuncture because it is unregulated in the U.S., and I didn't want to be just finding someone in the phone book, but the acupuncturist I'm seeing came to me as a recommendation from two people in the medical profession, so I feel confident I'm getting quality care.

Congrats YIYEHTOV. I'll be thinking happy thoughts for you and this pregnancy.

I'm ovulating and in the worst mood today. There has already been one meltdown and it isn't even lunch time yet. I don't do well with holidays, even silly ones like Valentine's Day. Stress isn't going to help and I know that, but I feel like I'm bound and determined to sabotage any chance of getting to have a good day or getting pregnant today.

What didn't kill me made me stronger. I'm a very strong soul.

So I think the fact that it was hard for me to run yesterday might have been an early pregnancy symptom (shortness of breath during exercise-- related to progesterone or something) because....

BFP!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, I got a little faint positive today, but it's just 11 DPO or so, so I'm just thrilled to have gotten ANY result on a cheap-o test. I'm so excited, I'm still shaking!!! Please pray that this gets to be our take-home baby!!

I'm in this for the rest of my life. Why rush?

YIYEHTOV: I have never noticed that I run slower during that time. I'm going to have to start paying more attention to that! The weather has been so horrid and unpredictable here in CO that I haven't been able to make it out to run lately. Soon, though! I miss it so much!

MOMIN09: Hope everything works out for you soon! It seems like the gals have given you great ideas on alternatives for the medicine. Good luck!

Sorry to hear that MOMIN09. But I agree, there are some cheaper alternatives that may be worth a try. I've heard that fertilaid for men is really effective. It's designed to increase sperm count and improve sperm motility and health. It's about $30 a month. My husband has taken it both times we conceived and he is taking it this time around as well. You can buy it on line at babyhopes.com or earlypregnancytests.com. I always shop through earlypregnancytests.com and I love that company!

Momin09, that's so frustrating. I don't know if this will help at all, but supposedly there are some natural ways to lower estrogen... you can google "lowering estrogen" to find some links.

Naybrenner, I agree that this sounds hopeful! I didn't have any spotting when I was pregnant (which just shows it isn't a good or a bad sign, because my pregnancy ended in MC) but a lot of women do just before AF is supposed to arrive. Good luck!!

I went on a 10K run with my husband today and I was really struggling... normally it feels easy for me to run about 6 minutes a kilometer (about 10 minute miles) but today I was breathing hard at 7 minutes/K or so. I don't know if I was just tense because I don't want to overdo it right now or what... does anyone else find that you are WAY faster during the first half of your cycle? This TWW plays with my mind! (And my body!)

Congrats on all of the BFP's that have shown up this month already.

Wish I could truly be a Hopeful. We found out last month that the insurance won't cover the meds that DH needs to be on to help us get pregnant. The medication is an estrogen blocker that's normally used for breast cancer patients, so they say that it's not FDA approved for men for fertility (basically doing the same thing of blocking his estrogen so he'll have a higher testosterone count) so they won't cover it. The medication is over $300 a month (for just 15 pills), and so we can't really afford that right now.

Sorry for the rant, but it's just so frustrating.

I don't know if anyone has experienced this or not. I have had spotting for about an hour the day before yesterday and yesterday. I thought it was AF but it is just a bit and then it's over. I don't know whether to give up this month or not. AF isn't scheduled till 2/17, and I wasn't going to test until 2/18. This waiting, wondering, and up and down emotions are driving me nuts!!!

I had major cramping like that the 1st month after stopping birth control. It wasn't as obvious the next few months.

So i'm getting more and more worried about cycle. I havent' had AF since nov 4th... I've had 2 blood tests in jan to confirm (at the time I was on medication that you really should not get preg on...) now we are off that med but I still haven't seen AF... I thought I Oed but I'm nearly convinced that I was just getting my hopes up. I'm really worried that its my weight... I gained in the last few months and am at my highest weight ever I know I need to see a dr but I know they are just going to tell me lose and i'm tired of people telling me that and the look that they don't really believe me.. sorry for the rant!

NBRADFORD115 - I have ovulation pain like clockwork every month. I can relate to what you're experiencing. Sometimes I get the sharp mittelschmerz (it was so bad one time when I was a teenager, I thought I had appendicitis and went to the ER :-/ ....) and other times I get dull cramps in my ovaries. It's almost always on the right side too, interestingly enough! My sister joked in front of friends one time, "She's dropping an egg!" because I had to lay down in the middle of a get-together because of the pain. Since I'm so used to having it every month, I didn't realize that a lot of women (most maybe?) don't feel their ovulation. I've had people tell me I'm lucky, but let me tell you, sometimes it doesn't seem that way! Hubby and I are going to start TTC for the first time this upcoming week, so we'll see if the fertile-mertle jokes that come my way are on target. :)

I'm sending baby dust and positive thoughts your way!! Hopefully the cramps you're experiencing are due to 'dropping eggs'! :)

Hi all. It's so encouraging to see all the BFP's out there this month! What a great way to kick off a new year!

So, I've been using OPK's and they've been really close to positive yesterday and today. Also, I started getting cramps yesterday and today (I'm on CD 19). The cramps aren't the sharp mittelschmaertz I used to get before BC, but more of a dull AF type cramp at both sides of my uterus, in the vicinity of my ovaries. Has anyone else had ovulation pain similar to this? I don't know if it's ovulation yet, but I will get some bloodwork done next week to check my progesterone levels to see if it's the real deal.

If hunger isn't the problem, then food isn't the solution!

SunnyD, congratulations!! My prayers are with you for a happy healthy pregnancy. What an amazing surprise!!

Nay, I think I'd rather have two days early than two days late, but getting AF sucks anyway. Good luck next month! Now you have an earlier start, right?

That is my worry too. My previous Dr. was very into making sure all my hormones were in the right range and this new one wants to see me and talk about it before he prescribes me anything...I don't want to worry and have to wait until my appointment on Friday.

Mizpickle, Congrats to you! I know what a pain it is to deal with insurance. They didn't want to pay for anything infertility related. It drove me mad! I am having a hard time getting the drs office to send over the script to the pharmacy. It's driving me mad! I am so worried they won't do it...I don't have any prometrium for tonight.

Congratulations SUNNYD76! I am very excited for you. I've been spending all morning trying to find out my progesterone levels so that I can see if I need supplements to keep this little one in it's cozy uterine home. So much work when you have crappy insurance and too many people not working together. I hope we continue to get good news though. It looks like I will get to see the baby next Friday at what was supposed to be my annual. Well, have a fantastic weekend! BTW - I'll pray for you...If you pray, please pray for me. So nervous and excited.

Omg, ladies! I haven't been on here for awhile because we were in waiting mode to start IUIs with the RE, but I got a BFP today! I am beyond shocked. I had a consultation with the RE at the time I was ovulating and my lining was on the thin side then so we didn't think I would even have a chance of getting pregnant this month! Apparently, it must have thickened up a bit because I got a YES on the digital pregnancy test this morning.

I go to the RE for a blood test on Monday. The RE is kind enough to confirm the pregnancy for me even though I only went for a consult. (We were going to start IUIs with him next month we we got back from our vacation.)

I am totally in shock. We've been TTC for 2 years. My hubby had zero sperm due to testosterone replacement therapy (he was fine before the testosterone). He started hcg injections last October to help his testosterone level and to get his body BACK to making sperm again. I have LPD and have been dealing with those issues. I am so excited and SO scared that something is going to happen to this baby. If you pray, could you remember me in your prayers.

Wishing all of you all the best! I hope each one of you gets good news!

WOW! I haven't been checking this board lately, but it seems like February is a good month! Congrats to all those with BFPs!
I was using an opk this month and got a little smiley face on Sunday :) It was day 21 of my cycle, which seems kind of late. I've been off the pill 3 months, with cycle lengths of 30,29, and 31 days. I hope that this means I am having a longer cycle this month and not that I have short luteal phases...I guess i'll find out soon.
I really should wait to take a test until like 2/21...but i'm going to visit friends out of state on 2/17 so I kind of want to check before that. I have little patience, so I probably will take a test before the morning we leave town.
I agree with what Jenna said about all this waiting...it's horrible!

YAY for MizPickle and DestiniW6!!! SO happy for you both!! This is shaping up to be a great month!!

Naybrenner-- ironically, I think I *keep* TTC from taking over my life by posting so often here. I tried for one month without posting here, and it meant that I talked about being possibly pregnant MUCH more often to my husband and obsessed over it a lot more when I was trying NOT to talk about it. Now I spend like 15 minutes a day fully obsessing over things on this board, and I'm ok to keep up my normal life the rest of the time. I also am focusing on doing things that make me feel really healthy and keeping my normal exercise up but taking it a little easier than usual. Good luck!!

Rockrunner, it sucks to have plans changed like that. My plans were to get pregnant last summer, and that didn't happen either (or rather it did, and the MC threw off everything else). But I guess learning to roll with the changes is good prep for parenthood? Good luck and baby dust to everyone!

It's POSITIVE! If all goes well I will have an adorable little baby by the middle of October. I'm still in shock...Wow. Now we just have to see if we end up with multiples. My hCG levels more than tripled in 48 hours which can be a sign of multiples.

Good luck to the rest of you. Lots of love and Baby dust all around.

Hello everyone! I went off BC in November and didn't have a normal AF again until Jan. My DH won't admit we are TTC to the public but him and I know the real truth emoticon I think he is scared to admit he wants a baby as much as me.

I've enjoyed reading everyone's posts and can't wait to hear all the good news as the month goes on. Here's to baby dust all around!!!!

Congrats! I am waiting for my confirmation. Since I had to take the hCG shots this month I have to have two blood tests to make sure my levels are doubling the way they should be. I have my second blood draw this afternoon so hopefully I can confirm a BFP soon too.

I am a February hopeful. I O'd on 2/3 and hope to have a Positive test around 2/17-2/20. I keep getting discouraged though, because I don't feel anything yet, but it's probably too early. I've heard some women just "know" instantly. We have been off BC since late December and this is our 1st complete month of TTC, I'm trying to figure out how to take control of my life and not let this control it. Any suggestions? We have a son (age 4) who was adopted in 2006, (just something we were led to do, no known fertility problems), and I try to keep my focus on him, but it's hard sometimes!!!

Hey girls!! Just wanted to drop by and see how everyone's doing. I joined this list awhile ago because for a long time now I had been planning to start TTC this month, however my update is that I have to wait.

I am having an endoscopy and colonoscopy to (hopefully) rule out some causes of why my iron levels are so low. I am hoping and praying that the results come back ok so that I can start TTC soon after.

This change in plans is hard to absorb but I'm staying positive and remembering that another month or two in the grand scheme of things is not much, and I'm trying to see some advantages to waiting a little longer.

Thanks for listening to my vent, I've enjoyed following the posts here and I'm sending good thoughts to everyone and hope you all get the BFPs you're hoping for!!! Best wishes GFBB Team!!

MizPickle, that's so exciting!! And I think it's totally normal to feel ambivalent and scared once the idea of being pregnant suddenly gets real. I know I felt that way. It's a huge deal and you take the responsibility of pregnancy and mothering seriously, so it's probably MORE normal if you don't just feel happy happy happy!

Here's hoping this is a real positive!!! :)

I'm in this for the rest of my life. Why rush?

I'm kinda nervous. Tomorrow I have to call my Dr. for the two consecutive blood tests. I haven't told anyone yet but I took a HPT and it was Positive...I'm trying not to get too excited yet because it could be a false positive from my hCG shots last week but this could really be it. I'm kinda handling this differently than I thought I would. I'm slightly overwhelmed and ambivalent. Hopefully I can get excited if I know for sure there is a bun in the oven. I just needed to spill the beans somewhere.

***I should probably preface that the feelings of overwhelmed-ness and ambivalence are from a really crappy week. Our dog, Lucy, has been in the hospital all week with a deadly disease. The amount of love and worry and responsibility I feel for our dog scares me because I know it will pale in comparison to the love, responsibility and worry for our baby.***

This is my 2nd month off of BC pill & I'm hoping soon I will get prego. I think I ovulate late in my cycle, like day 22 out of 29... So if I do get pregnant, I won't test till around Feb 16th. AF is due on the 12th but has been a little late since going off BC. Hoping for a BFP!
