I haven't checked the boards for a long time.
Congrats to all the BFP's in September. We are out until January when we start TTC for real, but we're not preventing it either.

I'm out. Tested yesterday at 14dpo and it was a BFN. I am now discontinuing my progesterone supplements and waiting for AF. DH has his next SA on October 18th (I am pretty sure I am going to o when he has to abstain, but c'est la vie." And we go back to the male hormone endocrinologist on October 29th for the SA results and to talk about treatment.

AF showed up yesterday for me.

I go tomorrow to do my 3 days test at the OBGYN. I'll have an ultrasound next week and then my 20 day test in October. They are going to be sure everything is working. ;) But, I'm sure it's fine and it's just that my DH's swimmers aren't back to 100% yet. He'll have his 2nd SA in October.

It's been 6 months of TTC for us. On to month 7 and my favorite month....OCTOBER!!

KRANBERRY1...best of luck with the clomid and SA!

NBRADFORD...good news...hope that it starts becoming a bit more regular for you.

I am definitely not feeling too many symptoms any more. I caved in and took a test this morning (12dpo) and it was negative. I have to take another one in 2 days before I discontinue the progesterone supplements, but I think its going to be a BFN as well.

NBRADFORD what great news. Hopefully it will become a regular event...well at least long enough to conceive.

I am starting my first Clomid treatment today! My ne gyn was very positive...made me feel so hopeful. He also ordered sperm count for my hubby. So now we just have to keep our fingers crossed.

Yay NBradford! TTC is funny, lots of women are so upset when AF shows, and there are lots of others who are thrilled because it means another chance!

Crossing my fingers for you Geo!

Maya, I'm due for AF on Oct 7 too (though FF thinks I o'd 2 days early so it may be due/show up on the 5th). Good luck, I'm hoping you get your take-home baby soon!!

Yay NBRADFORD!! How exciting that your body is getting back to normal.

GEOGIRL, let's hope TOM is still a LONG ways away... :)

I'm in the TWW (I'll test Oct. 7 if AF doesn't show up by then... that would be CD 30) and convincing myself I'm having symptoms... nothing definitive though. Ah well. It doesn't have to happen this month, but it sure would be nice if it would. :)

I thought TOM was arriving this morning but hasn't shown up yet...so much wondering and waiting.

On the positive side my younger sister called me this morning to tell me that she is expecting baby #2 in March! (okay I'll admit that I am a tad bit jealous :)

Sooo...I got my period! I know seeing AF is supposed to be a bad thing on these boards, but 14 months later, I finally got my period!!! We aren't thinking it was from the prescriptions because I took those the first week in August, and I didn't have any results, so we're pretty hopeful that this was all me! I guess we'll see if next month anything happens, but we had a little something to celebrate any way (drank a bottle of wine between the two of us in one evening!)

DH threw his back out this weekend, which is awful, but it also meant that we spent a lot of time sitting together reading, watched a couple movies, and just chatting because he was so bored! We're still going to pursue adoption. We're both feeling we are being called to open our home and our family to someone less fortunate.

With me getting my period, we're going to set up a savings account and begin aggressively saving money rather than opting for the financing plan through agencies. If this period is the beginning of hopefully regular cycles, we feel like we may have bought a little bit of time to try it the old fashioned way.

Yes, once we start TTC I was suddenly very aware of pregnant women and babies!

Well, most of my symptoms are gone, so I think my body adjusted to the progesterone supplements. I also am not anticipating a BFP as I don't have any real symptoms any more. I test on Thursday.

Hello Everyone! Finally had a positive OPK test! after last cycle I was a little worried that I would not have a clear positive OPK, but I went from no second line at all 2 days ago, to 2 very dark lines yesterday!! Plus I also have right sided cramping. DH & I BDed and are going to BD the next 3 days. Finally talked DH into taking vitamins and wearing boxers this cycle, so I am really hoping it all works. Good Luck to everyone!!!

I was just a bit impatient and tested a bit early for my second chance in September...for some reason I just felt like I'd rather see the "not pregnant" on a test than have aunt flo show up and tell me the news. I guess since I tested early there is still a chance but I really don't feel it.

I'm only three cycles into trying but I just see babies everywhere and I think today has left me in a funky mood, I had better head out for a run and de-stress and think positive for next month.

Congrats to this months BFP's!!!! Cheers to happy healthy pregnancies!

A friend of mine who has 5 children had a theory that I was so stressed about the what ifs, that my body just sort of shut down. I am one of those people that tries to manage anything possible. I actually have 3 separate applications with data regarding all of the details. I will spare the details so that I don't look too obsessed. So today I skipped my Saturday run. I spent the day reading 3 months of magazines I had received and not opened. I cooked, got some sun and had some quality time with hubby. Watched a movie and decided to end the evening with a hot bath...and my body finally let go and AF showed up. Now I get to start over hopefully with a new perspective.

I know he feeling. I just went through the same thing. When I took the test the morning AF was due and it was neg, I decided to wait a week. That one was neg too. So I went to the doc...blood test was neg. Now a month later it has come.

Hang in there. And let us know what happens.

I'm currently 7dpo and having a tough day. Breasts are sore and I am so nauseous. I am on prometrium to help LPD though and I am pretty sure it is causing all the symptoms. Unfortunately, it causes all the same symptoms as extreme PMS/early pregnancy.

Hubby is going away this weekend. I think I am going to use it as an opportunity to just chill out with the dog.

Jenilaura, thanks for the inshights. I am still spotting, but I think stress could be a big part of it all. Work and family really haven't been calm lately, not to mention the challenge of keeping our TTC'ing a secret.

NBRADFORD - A friend of mine from high school tried to get pregnant for a few years and they also felt like they were being called to adopt. They had such an out pouring of support from the community, friends, family and their church and they were able to spend 2 months in Ethopia while the adoption went through. I think the total time from start to baby at home was under 15 months! He is a beautiful child and his eyes are so bright! It's an amazing thing they did! He will have such a great life....AND after their adoption was final....she found out she's pregnant!!

It's an amazing thing! I wish you the best of luck!!

NBradford, adoption is such a beautiful thing... I hope you find the baby who is meant to be yours.

Good luck running the marathon, too! I ran three and they were some of the most amazing experiences of my life so far.

As you say, maybe this isn't so much about your body being flawed as about you guys being called to adopt. I know that some of the parts of my life that seemed the worst at the time turned out to be the best thing possible. G-d bless and good luck!!

So, we decided not to fill the prescriptions, and we're going to get a second opinion from another RE. We came to the conclusion that if we can't have sex to get pregnant, they we aren't supposed to get pregnant. I know IVF works for many, but it's just not what we're comfortable with. The more and more we pray about a baby, the more and more my husband feels we are being called to adopt. We're contacting an agency on Friday (when we both have the afternoon off).

In the meantime, I've really been down on my body lately. I've been so mad at myself for not being able to do something totally natural like get a period, so I'm going to start training for a marathon. I feel like I need to be proud of myself for something because I feel a little like it's all my fault.

Wish me luck! And we're always hopeful!

Kranberry...alot of the symptoms that you described could also be brought on by stress...were you stressed? Stress can also delay or stop a period. Did you do A LOT of intense exercise that you weren't used to becasue that can affect period as well.
If I were you, I know I'd be going to the dollar store to get a test(just as effective, but I can be relaxed if I used 3 in a week ;), instead of buying 10$ tests from the grocery store), but that is me.
I will cross my fingers for you that you are pregnant though, that would be so exciting emoticon .
It's so hard that some of these syptoms are related to so many different things. I wish there was just 1 symptom that was specific to each.

Okay, so AF was due on 8/26. No show. All HPT's were neg & blood test on 9/6 was neg. Leading up to this I felt like I had PMS, tender breasts, really emotional, and exhausted. My doc said to expect my next period on track, which would be 10/4. Now I am having some very light spotting. Is it possible...or just wishful thinking. What do you all think. Should I take a test in the morning? Thanks for the help & support.

Driving home from work today I found myself thinking about this group of women on a determined march to get pregnant...made me feel understood.

Woo Hoo on the BFP's!

I just got back from the RE, and we didn't received very good news. It wasn't anything we didn't already suspect, but they confirmed I didn't ovulate. I asked if this still may be a side effect of discontinuing BC, and the doctor didn't think so. He said, if the BC was the reason, the prescriptions I was taking would have had an effect (ie. period or pregnant), so that means it's something much bigger than my body coming off of BC.

We ran more tests, and for the first time, I actually prayed for bad news. I want them to find something unhealthy, so we have something to address because right now we're playing guess and check with my body and my mind and emotions aren't taking it very well. He wrote me out prescriptions for Provera, Femara, FSH shots, and Ovulation Stimulating shots, and I'm tempted not to pick them up. I think I need to sleep on this for a night or two and decide if this is something I can handle.

KREILLY - That is SO exciting!!!!! I know what you mean about hearing the heartbeat. I'm into my 12th week and am rapidly outgrowing my pants. But because I still haven't heard the heartbeat (too early at 9 week appointment and my office doesn't do early ultrasounds), I'm still anxious!!!

Yes - the chest soreness was much more pronounced than just PMS. Especially (sorry if it't TMI) around the nipples. Running made them SO uncomfortable!

Love,
Hillary

Hilary: Thanks for the update! It is great to see some BFP's, got the call from the doctor today and looks like my beta is 325 which is considered a BFP!! Very excited but not letting myself get too excited, have another blood test on Wednesday to make sure the numbers are doubling. I'll let you know how that goes! Until I hear that heartbeat I don't think I will be able to think it is real!

As for the chest soreness, I totally agree they have been very full and uncomfortable so that is always a good sign. The month isn't over yet, I hope for some more BFPs or that people ovulate soon!

Okay, so I don't want to get my hopes up too much, but my breasts have been slightly tender for the past week or so, and today they are down right painful. We're talking, if it was socially acceptable to walk around with my hands underneath them holding them up for extra support, I would be doing it.

I'm not thinking preggo (will take a test to confirm), but I am thinking this may be a sign that a REAL AF is around the corner. Sore breasts were a popular PMS symptom back in the day for me.

I left a message with my RE today informing him the Femara didn't work, but he was in surgery today, so when he calls back tomorrow, I'll be sure to mention the boobie issue too. I'll be pretty mad if this is just another wonderful side effect of fertility treatments. I finished taking the script Aug 11, so everything should be out of my system by now.

Well, I'm happy to say that Friday night's home test came back positive! Yay! We had a miscarriage in July, so I can't help but be nervous about this one. In fact, Friday night I dreamt about miscarrying all night long--torture. So send me sticky thoughts for this one!

I got quite excited when I was due yesteray and no AF in sight, but she stopped by for a visit today. Guess I am moving into October hopefuls. Good luck everyone!

AF showed up and now it's back to the DR to check the ovaries in these first few days of the cycle. it looks like the plan will be to try clomid for 3 months to get me to ovulate and check DH count (once insurance kicks in Oct 1). holding off surgery to unblock the right side to see if we can get a BFP, but are considering it if we are still having trouble after a few months.
Congrats on all those BFPs out there!

Congrats pearljgirl!! That's awesome! Best wishes for a happy and healthy 7 1/2 remaining months. :)

I'm in the TWW now... wish me luck. I think I'm a lot more relaxed about symptoms this time around, because I know a few definite ones to look out for (like breast tenderness, which I felt when I was walking, not poking :) and I know that most real symptoms don't kick in till later. Yom Kippur fell exactly when I was ovulating so we couldn't BD for those 25 hrs + (and felt so sick after breaking the fast that we didn't until the next morning) so I don't have high hopes for this month, but who knows!

THANKS GIRLS!!!!

Hillary- Yes they did do an ultrasound because of the spotting. The official decision is that I just have a HIGHLY sensative cervix. The baby looks absolutely perfect. We've had 2 just to be safe but the heart beat is strong and everything looks great. We're a little past 7 weeks right now so still a long ways to go but feeling AMAZING. Can't believe how good I've been feeling except for MAJOR sore boobies.

One thing I'll tell you girls that are in your TWW that always feel your chest and wonder if you might be having the "tenderness" you hear talked about... you won't have to touch your chest to know when its the real deal. I my case at least its completely crazy and not something you can ignore! :)

Yes Kranberry this is my first baby. I'm 26 and my husband will be 36 soon. I stopped birth control (nuvaring) in January of this year but we didn't start actively preventing 100% until May.

Not sure if any of this "helps" but I was constantly reading other people's stories to compare!

GOOD luck to everyone in the TWW stage. I have heard 4 different people that just got pregnant so here's hoping its about to happen for LOTS of you girls too!!!

How's things going for you Hillary?

Somedays you gotta Flaunt it even if there is more "it" than you might like!

Hi Ladies!

I've been holding off on getting on the boards for a while but I see we haven't been having a lot of good news... so I'm pleased to announce my BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have some "real life" friends on my sparkpage that don't know yet so PLEASE don't say anything on my page!!!

Technically I fall in the August hopefuls I guess but we didn't find out until Sept! I thought AF had arrived...but when it was light and lasted for 3 weeks I started to figure out something was off.

We're feeling insanely excited and blessed and now the TTC process seems like it wasn't that bad even though it's hell during the process.

Hang in there ladies. It will happen... :O)

Thanks for being my secret keepers for a little while! We've still got family and friends to tell.

We didn't do a LOT of things different that month but we were on a little mini vacation so I am just another one to add to the power of a relaxing vacation :)

HUGS ladies... I hope lots of you in the TWW report back with positives soon!

Somedays you gotta Flaunt it even if there is more "it" than you might like!

Well, I've got one more week of waiting until I can test (or find out the hard way ;))
I haven't felt anything though...no phantom symptoms like last time. I wonder if that just because last month was my first as a hopeful or if myabe my levels are evening out after the BCP. Still crossing fingers, but I think I will be able to handle this month a little better if it is a negative.
Good luck to all, may baby dust rain down from the skies.

Hi Kranberry! I just wanted to add that the website www.fertilitygal.com also seems really good... I just started using it and I don't track my BBT at this point (it has a place to do that), but it seems really user-friendly and... best of all... free. :)

Wahoo, I just checked using Ovulite (which is a little microscope you use to look at the pattern your saliva makes when it dries... you can tell when there is a lot of estrogen in your saliva) and I seem to be ovulating!! It's only CD11, craziness. Tonight is Yom Kippur when we aren't allowed to BD, so I guess we should get busy now... :}

haha this is the ONLY place I could have just posted or said something like that...

Hi Kranberry, welcome! If you are tracking your temperature, the best way to go is using FertilityFriend.com. There are tutorials, and lots of handy information. If you are interested, I'll send you a referral request if you private message me your email, that way I get 5 free days of VIP access, and if you want to purchase VIP after the 30 day intro you would get 30 free days VIP and so would I. Don't worry though, the site is still very helpful even with just the free usage!

For acronymns: BFP/N = Big Fat Positive/Negative
TOM = Time of Month (period), also can use AF = Aunt Flow.
2WW, TWW, is two week wait, the time from ovulation to next period (or hopefully a BFP!)
DH = Dear Husband

Hope that all helps!

Hey all,
So I am pretty new to all of this (well the technical aspect of TTC). I always thought the minute I went off the pill ( a year and a half ago) I would get pregnant. Anyway, Can someone tell me what some things mean? Like BFP, TOM, 2WW?
Also do any of you track your BBT? I am just starting and only have a vague clue of what to look for.

Lots going on in here this month, I'm still hoping to see more BFPs!!

Its interesting for me and it seems like I'm actually going to get a second chance at a BFP this month. In the first week of Sept. I tested and got a negative when Aunt Flo showed up seven days earlier than normal. Now I am on day 12 of my cycle and its go time, tests say I'm ovulating and it surprises me because this is way earlier than I had previously thought possible for me. Its exciting because if my cycle is short again I'll know the result of all of this BD'ing before the end of the month.

You just never know, right?

Sending positive thoughts out to everyone :)

PIESZCHA: I totally understand how you feel when I heard that I had a bad tube and needed to have it removed I was sad and then when both had to be removed I was so upset. I really wanted to conceive the way the rest of world does, but after going through IVF (still in 2ww) I realized that it was actually less stressful (for me) then charting, trying to BD husband on his work schedule and waiting for ovulation. The whole process, hormones and up to transfer took only 10 days and normally I don't ovulate till day 19 on my cycle!

I wish everyone luck that is still waiting to O or are in 2ww. I have promised myself I am not going to test, I will just have to wait until my blood test next Tuesday.

Pieszha, so sorry to hear about that. I miscarried at the end of August and it was most likely due to low progesterone. I was spotting before I started so I kind of knew there was a problem. So this time around I am using progesterone suppositories. They aren't the best thing in the world but they aren't that bad especially if they make the next one stick. Hopefully you will just need something mild. Good luck tomorrow!

NBradford, good luck with the adoption!! I hope everything goes smoothly for you! 3 babies in one year?!?! Whoa.

Kelly, I don't really get any pms symptoms just horrible cramps during TOM. I hope 5 is your lucky number!!!

Sunny, I hope you summoned the energy! ;)

Sorry to all of those that had TOM come visit.

I am starting the 2WW and started taking the progesterone suppositories this morning. So far it isn't as bad as I had expected. I got pregnant first shot in August and I am scared that I am going to be upset if that doesn't happen again and even worse if this baby doesn't stick. Bleh.

Fingers crossed for everyone out there!

-Anne

Just got a phone call with results for my day 22 progesterone test. The nurse said that it showed a very low progesterone level not consistent with ovulation. so according to the hsg I'm blocked up on the right, and now that doesn't even really matter because I'm not ovulating, anyway. *crushed* will be meeting with doc tomorrow to discuss options/the next step. ... just wish i could have done this 'naturally' without have a procedure to unblock the tube and/or taking hormones. emoticon

One of the couples we have been talking to about the adoption process, just had an infant placed with them, and now two weeks later, she finds out she's pregnant! They are so happy but definitely feeling overwhelmed and pretty nervous about how they are going to handle it all!

I guess when it rains, it pours!

My regular doctor conceived twins via IVF, then found out three months after their birth they were pregnant naturally. Three babies in one year.

Thanks Hillary!

Good Luck NBRADFORD in the adoption process, I'm gonna keep hoping for a surprise along the way!

What a rough cycle this time! AF finally showed up 4days and 3 neg test later ) : I haven't been that late for AF in like 2yrs. And its weird because I always have bad pms the week before but as soon as AF starts my moods are wonderful and I really like my hubby again, I thought pms was suppose to last during your flow? Is anybody else like this?

I was going to take this new cycle off but since I have OPK test that r only good for one month I will chart this cycle and take next cycle off and since I will also be going on vacation. Thanks for all the support! And Good Luck to Everyone!
Wish me luck for cycle 5 ttc(4th cycle charting)!!!

KELLYLORRAINE, Congrats to you! Wishing you a happy healthy 9 months.

NBRADFORD115, best of luck with the adoption process. We are giving it until next September. If we are still having trouble ttc, I think we will start the adoption process ourselves.

I just got a + opk on CD13. It's actually the earliest I have gotten a positive. Of course, DH had to get up at 3am this morning to go into work so I don't know if he will be up to anything tonight. I told him to sleep until I get home from work tonight at 10pm and we'll see if we both have the energy.

Congrats, Kellylorraine!

Kellyburdette: don't compare to your mom and sister. My mom got pregnant first try with both me and my brother. But we have very different cycles - she got her first period when she was 9 years old and was regular as clockwork from then on. I was almost 14 when I got my first period and have never been regular. It took me 20 months to conceive. I'm really hopeful for you!!!

Love,

No good news here. I was starting to get excited because I hit cd36 with nothing. I passed some blood grey tissue at work and AF showed up the next day. Damn :(

But...I'm trying to look at the positive. At least I know that we're making progress, and taking the month off charting helped a lot. Next month marks Dh's 3 months without caffeine so I'm wondering what is going to happen there.

I am on CD 38 (according to my bleeding cycle from Provera), and still no period and the tests have all been negative. I'm pretty disappointed mostly because I really felt like this month I would at least get a period. We've decided I will go back to the RE one last time for one last round of tests, and if they have no answers for me, then I'm done with medical intervention. We've been TTC for 15 months, and I haven't had a period for 13 months, and no one has been able to tell me why. Frustrated and worried is how I've felt for the last 15 months, and in the mean time, all tests show I'm at "normal or healthy levels." It's easy to say this from my position, but I feel like if I at least got a regular period, I wouldn't be so worried, but I'm really getting concerned that this may be the way it is for me. I just recently turned 27, and they've ruled out early menopause, PCOS, and endometriosis.

DH and I are starting the adoption process by speaking with people who have adopted and those who have given up their children for adoption. Our church also has a missionary orphanage in Russia, however the politics of adoption in Russia can be complicated. We're weighing our options, and getting the process rolling because it can take years to get a child placed.

I came off the pill at the end of May. June was a perfect 28 day cycle. July was a 35 day cycle. I tested on day 29 and got a negative and then again on the morning of day 35 and again got a negative. AF decided to start about 30 seconds after I tested.

When I didn't start on day 28 of this cycle, I decided that maybe my body liked a 35 day cycle, so I'd wait until after that day to test. I told my husband that if I hadn't started by the end of day 35, I was going to test the next morning.

Today is day 36. I had a dream early this morning that I took a test and the result was really weird. I dreamed that I was taking a test that used the two lines and in the middle of those two lines it gave me the number 470,000. I have no idea what that was supposed to mean, other than maybe the hCG level (although I know that number isn't even close to accurate), but in the dream I knew it was a good number. When I woke up, I took the test and I tested POSITIVE!!!

Kelly I just want to tell you that it is very normal for TTC to take a while. Its just that some people get lucky and get pregnant right away. It took me 11 months both times to get pregnant with each of my children and trust me I know its frustrating but really nothing could be wrong with either of you...just that the chances of getting pregnant each month even when everything is done right are actually very small. Just keep on trying cuz it will happen sooner or later !! :-)

Hello Everybody,
Took test yesterday, I was on CD 25 and not really sure how many DPO I am but it was BFN :-( I still haven't started my period but I'm sure she will show up soon. I am pretty sure I O'd late this cycle and my period will probably be a couple days late but I certainly have my normal I'm gonna start signs. Didn't cry this time too much but really just frustrated. I just couldn't tell my sister that I had another BFN because I know she wants me to be prego like her soo bad. I know I am the person who tends to worry and stress out too much, but how do you not in this case? All I can think is it never took my mother or sisters more than a couple months to conceive why is it taking me so long? is there something wrong? is there something wrong with my DH? Am I never going to have kids? Because this is something I have looked forward to since I was little, and over the last 2yrs I could hardly wait for my DH to say "ok I'm Ready" And now that it all has come into line and everything is okay for launch, we keep getting BFN!!! And my Hubby is all calm cool and collected about it and just shakes his head when I get upset.

Well now that I have B***hed for a while I do feel a little better (-: This whole TTC process is a roller coaster ride. You start out going up the hill BD and hoping this is the month and you keep getting more and more built up over the 2WW every little symptom making you think this is the month. So finally your at the top of the hill and you test and BFN you go down that hill quick to the bottom!!! boo! then it all starts over again

Maya very exciting that you got your period that is a good sign.
I did a lot of reading about HSG tests and there have been a lot of people that are successful after they complete that test.
Had the egg transfer yesterday now on bed rest for two days which sounded exciting but now is really boring. So I guess I'm in the 2ww, but I think it started on Monday when they did the retrieval so week and half wait, still stinks!
I hope to read lots of BFP this month, it is still early!

Hi Pupsalot, I'm kind of in the same boat... I got my BFP in June and I miscarried on July 27. I finally got my first period back on Sept 7 (I was really happy to see that one!), so we'll be trying again soon. I wish I knew why my miscarriage happened... it's nice that you know to take progesterone next time. Good luck!!

Maya

I'm in this for the rest of my life. Why rush?

Hello ladies. I am here to join you all after getting the ok from my doctors.

A little background...My hubby and I started TTC in late July, early August. Got my BFP on August 18th. Ended up miscarrying on August 27th. Thankfully I had my doctor check my hormone levels before I mc and discovered my progesterone was low so I will be supplementing my progesterone after I O which will hopefully be any day now. Really hoping this next baby sticks.

Good luck to everyone!! Can't wait to get to know you all!

-Anne

Hillary, I've heard of that happening after an HSG from a few other people as well. I'm scheduled to get one once DH's SA comes back with enough sperm for an IUI. Here's hoping it does the magic trick for me as well! :)

Honestly, I am SO happy for you!
