I think in that case and either way i will jacked LOL! I live in TX and that means 2 temps hot and cold! That's it!! I have always said i dont want a bassinet cus of this reason with the temps and the fact babies cant use them more than 3 month unless they are small! My niece did stay put for naps and such till like 7 months!! No joke she's pretty tiny even now at almost 3!!

Its funny how no one wants to be pregnant during the summer. You need to remember though if you are breastfeeding during the summer, it's just as hot!! Especially if you are covering up! With my first we didn't have any air conditioning nad he wouldn't nurse very well because he would just sweat from being so close to my body and your hormones after baby are wacked, I was hot all the time! The upside, after my second, I was freezing in the middle of July so nursing him wasn't hot lol Plus we had AC by then lol But when you are out in public and trying to covger up and you are sweating and your baby is sweating, it's not very enjoyable either!!

I would like a spring baby because I don't want to be SUPER PREGO in the summer... The down side of that though is I would have to make it through the holidays dealing with our families with no booze to help me through! LOL

I am a teacher and I do most of my planning over the summer at home. My first baby was born in May and it was ideal because I only had to claim six days of maternity leave and I got all summer to spend at home with my son! I guess it depends on what career you have to decide if you need to try around work. I also loved being pregnant in the winter because the baby was a little heater and kept me warmer and the baby was born before it got too hot.

My husband coaches high school football, so I will shoot for having the baby anytime but the fall. We keep joking that if we are due during football season, that he'll hear something announced during the game that it's time!

My ideal month is April. For holiday and work reasons. I want holidays spread out, my birthday is June, Hubby's in August, then Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, New Years. So I figure with April (yes there is Easter), we get to focus on each birthday seperately. I would love to be expecting in mid-late April as I am a teacher. I don't get maternity leave, but I can use my sick days to get me through the end of the year, then get the summer off, so When I go back to work in late August, I am sending a 4 month old to the babysitter, not a 1 month old. I also believe that the heat would be terrible if I was to deliver in August.
I've never TTC before however, so I don't know how long it wil take me to get pregnant (my mom went off BC while TTC me and she got pregnant within the month). We will start trying in June and stop trying in August if nothing happens and then wait until the next year. I have the "main" job in our household, so I need to make sure I can be back to work.

My ideal month is May. I dreaded being towards the end of an uncomfortable pregnancy in the hot summer months, it is just before a huge project at my husband's job in June/July, and people usually aren't as sick in late spring/summer so it is easier to go for walks and the farmer's market without the fear of someone sneezing on an infant.

I'm like Vanna01 when she says she'll take what she can get. I have a SIL who want to get pregnant in July/August, so that she can take the summer off. I tell her all the time that it's SO rare to be able to get pregnant when wanted, but she still insists on trying. Although she also said she was going to try this past July/August and still hasn't...As for me - we're trying constantly with no breaks. 14 months 5 days - and no BFP yet. I'll take anything!

I've had a baby in August and one in February. I'd choose February any day over August. It is TERRIBLE being hugely pregnant in the summer time. Babies also get all hot and sweaty... my kids are usually big, so people buy those cute flannel PJs and my kids outgrow them before they can even wear them.
My February baby's pregnancy was awesome. I was always warm (I guess because of horomones?), and it was nice to be all comfy, cozy with a hot tea and a big belly, haha.
If I had a choice, I'd never do a summer pregnancy again... though, I have read that Winter babies are supposed to have issues and you are supposedly at more of a risk of miscarriage if you live in a hot area in the first months of your pregnancy. It gets to 117 here in the summer, and my last pregnancy that ended in m/c was due in Feb... so, who knows. :) At this point, I'd be happy whenever it came...
We DO have a birthday streak in my family from late July to September... so, I'd like to avoid those months, also.

Aubrey :)

February is a good month (I was born on 2/29)!! I end the string of winter birthdays. We have an inordinate number of people born from December to February!

Well - I initially wanted a May baby (I work in education and though I don't get summers off, summers are much slower - stupid May baby phenomenon!). But like many have said, I'll take any time. I never wanted to be huge and preggo in the late summer, but if it happens for me this month, that is exactly what will happen.

Love,
Hillary

I would pick September, October, February, or March. Just about every other month, we have birthdays in our family. July is totally OUT. lol! I have FIVE birthdays in July and that is my really close family...two nephews, a niece, my DH and his twin! Then I have a niece in August! I can't afford any more July/August babies. May is a bad one, too. Sister, brother, and another nephew. January I have a bro-in-law, mom, and stepmom. December, we have no birthdays but it's the holidays.

My ideal month would have been October. Both DH and I are Oct babies. It just worked out that I'm due in August, which I heard could be hard since it's so hot! But that's ok, I'm ready for it! The good thing is my mom is a school teacher and so far my due date is Aug 2nd so she will be able to travel for the birth! So excited about that aspect, but not looking forward to the swollen ankles and intense heat! At least I will be able to get in a lot of walking to be ready for the baby!

I loved my March and April babies. One benefit to an August baby in Texas is not worrying to keep the baby warm when you bring her home - non-benefits include heat misery, and that funk that gets in baby-necks from sweat.

I'm hoping for anywhere between mid September and February because both DH and I have jobs that get crazy in the summer making it really hard for us to take off. That would put me at my biggest in the summer but at least I wouldn't feel pressured to return soon and DH could actually take time off too. They would HAVE to let me off, but him, I'm not so sure. We work for the same place. But like you all said, anytime I get a BFP I will be ecstatic.

I think I would prefer a late fall (October) baby. I really want them to be more than 2 months at both extreme seasons (summer and winter) so that they could handle power outtages and the weather. My current apt building doesn't turn on the ac until late May and this year I had a pet pass away due to overheating (she was already very old) and our upstairs neighbor had to take their 1 month old to the hospital due to overheating. I feel like its easier to warm them up in the winter than cool them off in the summer.
Then again, I'll take whatever life chooses :)

April. Hands down LOL But I'm biased, I have two april babies, the 5th and the 15th. I do have reasosn why though! I'm in Southern Ontario Canada, so being pregnant from roughly July to April, you miss the major heat when you are hugely pregnant, and you hit all the best food holidays lol Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, sucks to miss newyears....lol then my Birthday was in March and then April, it's beautiful here then. It can vary though lol When I had my first son April 5th 2006, it was a total blizard, when I had my second son April 15th 2009, it was so warm people were wearing shorts lol

I have not wanted to have a winter baby. Their birthday would be too close to Christmas and there is always a chance of birthday parties getting snowed out!!

But after 6 miscarriages, I don't really care anymore. I'm actually going to try for a winter baby this time and see what happens.

I don't want to be really big during the summer. My brother and I were both born in early Fall, and my mom said the worst part of being pregnant was being so big when it was really hot outside. Keep in mind, I live in Georgia, where summers are scorching. I want to have my babies in late spring, so that we can have their birthdays outside if it's not raining. But, I'll take what I get. :)

I would prefer mid-April-- be preg when it's not too hot AND b/c I work at a school my 6 week maternity leave would run right into summer break, so I'd have lots of time with the baby. But after a year of TTC, I would take ANYTHING!!!!

It's hard to have a late summer baby, because of more water retention and nausea from heat. I prefer my bigness in the cooler weather.

Now, I know that it is going to happen when it is time, but if you could pick the most ideal month/season to have the baby - when would you?

It seems that there are pros & cons to any time of year! Having the baby in the winter gives you more time to get back into shape for the summer..having the baby in the summer means you get to take your maternity leave in the nicer weather...

What do you think??
