It's really up to you and whichever challenge you may participate in. On different teams there are some step challenges where you count your steps and there are some mile challenges where you log your miles.

I keep track of both. I have a Fitbit that keeps track of my steps and my miles at the same time so it's easy for me, but there are many conversions on the internet that can help you out. I keep a manual daily health journal in which I log my food, daily quotes, exercise minutes, water intake and steps and miles. I like all my info in one spot that is easy to refer to and a keeping a daily journal works best for me. Perhaps the links below will be helpful to you.

When we log our exercise do we count the miles we got with our steps or just the miles we actually walk solid? So confused about that. Some days I walk more than the solid mile and get over 10000 steps in but not sure which way to log it. I do count my steps but am confused about the mileage part. Please help
