I am not diabetic, but I was looking for a Leslie Sansone 30 minute workout today that included only her basic moves, not much arm work, and no boosting and had a faster pace. It just so happens that she has that workout on YouTube, "November - National Diabetes Month Walking Down Your Blood Sugar (Part 1) (Part 2) and (Part 3). " My father and my Uncle, his brother, are both diabetic, Type 2 diabetes Adult onset but I thought it was fortunate for me to find this today, since November is National Diabetes Month in the United States. Awareness is being promoted and this year the focus is on "Taking Care Of Youth Who Have Diabetes". So a bit of serendipity today.

So My Leslie Sansone workout today burned 200 calories and was 35 minutes altogether.

1) Jenny Ford's Strength Training Weight Workout from Amazon Prime (it's free for me since i subscribe to Prime) I used 5 and 3 lb free weights. I do not do "pulsing" to protect my arthritic knee, I simply hold the squat or move etc. I like this workout a lot. It does standing, floor, and moves with the assistance of a chair.

2) Leslie Sansone's Heart Healthy 1 Mile Walk/Walk At Home (free) from YouTube.

I did a DVD today, Leslie Sansone's Super Fat Burning 3 Miles:(2 lbs)

I never had her weighted balls (water-filled) I have always used 2 lb. dumbbells.
For her bicep curl and overhead press I used 3 lb ones.

I did NOT do the crazy eagle taking off one in the Lumowell workout. I used both 3 and 2 pound free weights but more the 2 than the 3 today. My knee was bothering both before and after my workout, which is why I am minimizing how long and how much I am working my knee.

This deviates slightly from my "New" workout plan because it doesn't include the stationary bike, but it does include something I need to do MORE of, weights.

I added two new workouts to my Track Your Fitness page: one was a free weight (dumbbell) "class" with a virtual person from Amazon Prime and the other was a Leslie Sansone workout which I think has just been recently added to YouTube, at any rate it is "new" for me.

1) Lumowell Full Body Workout with Dumbbells, which was 2 sets of lifting with basically squats. I used a 3 lb weight for the first set and then somewhere in the 2nd set I stopped using weights for 1 exercise and then resumed using 2 lbs. It's recommended to do this "3x a week to get instant benefits" and I am sure going to try! I did wonder if I could have warmed up first, before doing the squats. I do squats just fine without holding onto weights or holding weights in a Leslie Sansone workout, but these exercises were faster.

2) From YouTube, I did "Tuesday | FAST Walking in 30 minutes | Fitness Videos" by Leslie Sansone, apparently it's from her Miracle Miles set. I did modify her workouts on account of my permanently bum knee, especially I did not do her "boosting" (which is jogging) and I do not do side lunges. Because it is much faster paced than what I usually do, I decided that I burned 120 calories per mile rather than just 100. Leslie gives an interview in an article that is here on SP that explains this. I would like to do this workout more often to get better at it, but whether I am capable all the time or not, we shall see.. My knee is sore right now, I will see how it feels tomorrow.

3) Because I am new to the Leslie workout, the cool down in the video wasn't enough and I then did her 6 minute Cool Down Walk on You Tube, after first walking around and waiting for my pulse to come down.

I feel that today I elevated my heart rate in a good way and also worked on strengthening.

There's been a new Leslie Sansone addition to YouTube called "1 Mile/Walk At Home" ; I would categorize it as basic and beginner. I did it first before using my recumbent bike, and I considered it took the place of stretching prior to biking.

So I did the new YouTube Leslie workout and it was:

First I did Jenny Ford's Strength Training Workout on Amazon Prime. I modified it because I can no longer "bounce" on my knees, so I just did a prolonged movement instead. I also can't do push ups and do "girl" push ups instead. emoticon I used 3 and 2 lb free weights, whereas Jenny uses 5 and 3 lbs. It's all good, I appreciated her squats and I did reverse lunges instead of lunges. I need to be lifting weights in a more challenging way, and her Workout does that along with being a regular walking workout such as Leslie Sansone would do.

THEN I biked on my Body Champ Recumbent Bike.
Time: 32.12 minutes
Distance: 3.57 miles
Burned: 64.5 calories

I kept the tension at 7 of 8 for 1.25 miles
Then I dropped down to 5 of 8 tension
and i believe for the last 3-5 minutes I dropped down to 3 of 8.

TOTALS: 70 minutes 264 calories

I was going to do something with weights or not with weights but with Leslie Sansone. I hope after all these years I have not become bored with Leslie! I did something else. I will not do the bike tomorrow since I am doing laundry but hopefully do some Leslie of some kind. I wish I could find some exercise video that was PERFECT for me, that I did not have to modify exercises for because of my physical limitations, but I just found one that I liked better than Pahla B. because it included triceps and plies. I haven't done plies in ages!

I took a break from the bike today and focused on strength training.

First I did Physical Therapy At-Home Knee exercises. I repeated the exercises when I could alternate my leg. There are squats and reverse lunges included in these exercises. I use a chair for balance when I am doing the lunges.

Then I went to YouTube.

Pahla B. Weight Workout for Women over 50 (i used 3 lb weights). I was disappointed because I don't believe she did anything for triceps. But something is better than nothing. I modified some of what she did because it's not appropriate for me. I don't believe she in certified but she certainly is enthusiastic and has TONS of exercises she put together in her living room. PLUS--she's free! I turned down the volume so I don't have to listen to her chatter or the "ding" of the bell. I still had captions.
