Good morning fellow walkers!

This morning I completed the 5-mile Advanced Walk using 2 lb handweights, the walkbelt and the stretchie. The endorphins are flyin' now!!

Thanks for the greeting NEWTINK!

Good news! I just got back from the nutritionist. I am down 10 lbs in a month and it was all fat loss!!! I attribute that success to walking and strength training with Leslie!!!

I am still early in the process, so I know not to expect that type of weight loss every month - but I am going to enjoy it today!!!

See you next time walkers!!!

I know it's listed under the fitness page for calories burned for cardio but how do you figure calories burned for strength training? Doesn't look like that is added in???

Sorry I have been missing in action. As you may know I had gall bladder surgery on March 1st. Something is very wrong. I have to make an appt. I cannot get rid of the feeling of a fist up under my rib cage. My stomach is burning all of the time even with sticking to a low fat diet as he suggested. I'm still exercising, just not as much and not here as much as I would like to be. ... Donna

I am going to New Orleans on Sunday to spend the week at our apartment there with the hubby ... Yay a week of nothing but laying around the pool and my cpu ... meaning I have the week off from my grand sons. I have worked so hard for the last three months get our home in Mississippi back together and taking care of the children I need a break before i have another mental breakdown.

Found out I can't have my hands hanging straight down when I walk a mile or more and dh had same problem. A mini power walk or elbow to hand parallel to the ground works for us.

When you walk on the track do you move your arms or do you just let them hang at your side?
If you move them heartily I don't think your hands will swell, at least that is my own experience.

Good morning everyone .... I am not sure if this happens to everyone but when I go to the walking track and walk ... after about 1/2 a mile my hands swell up painfully. They dont do this when i exercise with the Leslie dvd's so i started at the park periodically lifting my hands over my head or out in front of me or mimic the power walk from the home version of the dvd ... and it works my hands dont swell up when i do that ... of course now people think i lost my mind but now there is another lady at the track that does it. Just a funny thought this morning !!!

Getting my excuse making "butt" back in gear and rededicating myself to getting the rest of the weight off healthily. Tailbone still aches but I CAN exercise moderately until I can go full steam. I made myself stick to the minimum 30 minutes I set for myself today. I'm proud and feel great. Have to do what works and use Spark as I used it last year successfully.

I'm resting tomorrow. All the rush at work has slowed down so now just have to see what's going to happen with DH. I was so tired I did not wake up to the alarm this morning. Once up wasn't feeling too bad but it went downhill. Since I have to be in Friday figured I better get some rest tomorrow. I'd like to work out in the garden later too since it really needs it - been neglected lately!!!

Ever have one of those when you woke up fine and it went straight down hill from there ... well that is today for me ... DGFOWLER - Most of my days feel like manic monday! LOL! The three kids sure keep me busy...go go go...right now they are in soccer, come June there is basketball, baseball, bible camp and swimming lessons! Plus, I am watching another girl 2 days a week and she will go full time at the end of May...might be taking in another daycare kid too! Phew...gonna be busy!

ANNA907 - I have to get back on track again too! This past week was a little hectic and I let my WL goals slip...showed a gain this week, but I'm going to work hard to lose that and more!

I love this time of year! I've been getting up at 7 am with my sister to go for our morning walk, it's so nice outside at that time. :) I will be doing my 1 mile walk with Leslie tonight, along with Day 4 of the Spring into Shape Challenge.

So May is 1 for 1 for me. Yesterday was a emoticon day for fitness - walk/run for my 10k training, jump rope for a few minutes, day 1 of week 2 of my 100 push up challenge and a family bike ride. Today, not so much. Going to get to bed and get a good night's sleep and get back at it in the morning. emoticon

Walked 3 miles this morning, and jogged for longer than I have in forever! It was amazing, seeing the change. I attribute it to my first ever 5K in April. I'm so excited!
