Thank you.

If you read my latest blog entry you will understand why I am waiting for January 2nd.

However, I did put in 60 minutes of exercise this morning, and I am being mindful of my eating.

I am also formulating my new schedule, so I am ready to start with a bang!

Hi Everyone,

I apologize for dropping off the face of the SparkPeople world, life sort of got in the way, and if you check out my latest blog you will understand more of what I mean.

I am rather excited however, as I am restarting my whole program, from scratch, on January 2nd 2011. The one year anniversary of my joining SP, and the one year anniversary of my starting to exercise and eat healthier.

I have found that I started to fizzle out on the enthusiasm to maintain my exercise routine, and it took at ton of time on SP to track my foods due to how I cook (mostly one pot wonders) and what not. It's amazing however to note that if I spent 1/3 as much time on SP as I do on Facebook then I wouldn't have felt that way. Time to change that!!!

So.. what will I be up to. Well today we are celebrating our Yule (Traditionally it would be on Tuesday the 21st, alas, darling hubby is working that day, so we opted to do it today) and we did a family Yule gift this year, we got a Wii, and each of us bought a game. My game Wii Fit Plus (and Your Shape) was a logical choice as I am not much of a gamer in that sense of the word. That and it's winter, I find exercise tapes as boring as watching paint dry, and the bike and gazelle have lost their sense of fun too... my brain has never been one for the monotonous... and trying to speed walk in the snow at 6mph is not only unsafe but not easy!

So today we set up the Wii, and then I can start figuring out the Wii Fit and develop my new routine.
As it's been a while since I formally exercised, so I will start off with a 20 - 30 minute routine for week one, bump that to 30 - 40 for week two. On week three of January I think I will do 40 - 50 in the morning and 20 at night (this really keeps your metabolism burning while you sleep and helps you sleep too if done at the right time) and by week four I should be hopefully up to 60 min in the morning, and 30 at night. That will then bring me into February by which time I am hoping to start adding weights to my routine. I can't right now as my Chiropractor/Acupuncturist is saying No No NO!!! Not yet!!! So I trust him (he's really good) and will wait to get the go ahead.

The other part of my restarting is that I will be on SP, not just tracking, but really participating in my teams, especially the two that I am co-leader of (Melaleuca's Healthy Team and 40+ Ontario Group), I also intend to really check out all that SP offers, Trivia games, journaling, so on and so forth. Like I said, if I switched my Facebook habit to a SP habit I'd be so much better off. Too bad SP doesn't have a chat feature (is it coming???)... the other thing I noticed is that when I stopped tracking I really fell off that wagon. I have learned that SP really is a tool I have to use in order to reach my goals, for me having you all to offer support and help me be accountable (even if it is only by my writing about what I am doing, and then following up later saying I did it) really helps that weight come off consistently!!!

The other part of this new program will incorporate a spiritual side (no I am not going to preach here), where I do a daily meditation, journal work, reading, working with my Runes or other divination sets, and more, but it will be a daily practice and I am thinking that I will do it after my morning work out when my body is fatigued and my mind alert.

I also have my Relaxation Therapy course to work on as well, and I will be incorporating Yoga back into my routine too. I also have my new website that I will be working on, it's partly business, partly a blog about my health journey, and also where I share info on vegetarianism, fermenting foods, homeschooling, and more. It's brand new, so it's a work in progress (link is in my signature if you are curious)and I will endeavour to add to it a few times a week at least. I also have to recommit myself to my home biz too, making daily calls, and organizing that aspect of my life too.

I know it sounds like a lot to undertake at once, but I know that I truly need this, and that it resonates with me in the positive way, so I feel good, and it will be baby steps, progressive introduction of a new activity.

I am reassessing my weight goal too. Currently I am weighing in at 196.8lbs. My initial goal was 170, I feel that will not be sufficient for me, so I am changing that to 150lbs. At which point we will see about 140. I know it's completely unrealistic to expect to have my teenage body back after having three children, being over 300lbs and sporting a 5x sized clothes, but I am shooting for the moon knowing I will at least end up amongst the stars.

I hope that you will join me on my journey, by jogging on your own path while I jog on mine, and side by side we can cheer each other on, and help each other get back on that wagon when we fall off.

So between now and January 2nd, I won't be tracking or doing much here, but I am here, and getting really revved up and raring to go again...
