Does your doctor know you are running? I was only to swim during treatment and I had to argue to get my doctor to allow that. Rest is very important to healing. If you are running, you're continuing to stress damaged tissue that is trying to repair itself. You will heal much faster if you take a couple weeks off from running. You also should be on increased fluids to aid in flushing the damaged cells.

Ya, I am on appointment #4 and it does hurt... I also bruise quite a bit. But, I am seeing quite a difference in the amount of day to day pain. When I get over that 8K mark, I am still experiencing knee pain when I am running. But, before Graston, I couldn't even get to the 5K mark without feeling pain. So, I am hopeful that as I continue it will get better!

I had Graston for ITBS. It hurt like hell and I bruised like someone beat me, but it works.

Has anyone here ever had graston technique done?

If you don't know what the Graston technique is, basically they take this metal bar and grind it into you skin, wherever you have pain, and try to dig out the scar tissue and then the muscles are supposed to heal again properly so that you no longer have any pain.

I went for the first time last night for my knees. It hurt a lot - but I am hoping to have success.

Does anyone have a success story to tell me about to help encourage me to go back???

Thanks!
