I am not very good at tapering because I have so much nervous/excited energy. I try to walk and do something fun like Zumba. I usually say "Oh I'm just going to do an easy swim" (or run, insert the activity of your choice) and I start out easy, but the next thing I know I'm cruising. But I always take off at least a full day from all exercise.

Absolutely!! I hate taper weeks. I've gotten a little better at them through the years and try to take the extra time to go for a walk or bike ride with my children. They are hard mentally but worth it come race day. Good luck!

Man, I am not feeling the love from my body this week. I'm tapering for a tri on Saturday, and I feel so sluggish.

I find this happens during recovery weeks as well.

Anyone else get this way?

Thanks,
Melody~
