I am not much of a runner, yet I've been trying to train my body to run efficiently for the last year and a half. This morning I finally hit my goal of running 3 miles without stopping in under 30 mins. I'm so happy!!!!

Went to swimming this morning. Breathing is getting easier. Tried a few different breathing techniques. Overall it was the best swim day to date. Have just over a week off due to the 4th of July holiday break.

The only thing I'd add is few bike/run transitions (short 1-2 mile run off the bike), and once in a while add in a shorter bike with a slightly longer run (brick). Other than that, you don't need tons of mileage to finish a sprint tri.
And i prefer rising my bike, vs a spin class. I'll bet the instructor works you really hard, but to me, there's nothing quite like getting on the road and really climbing those hills.

Ali - I am no expect by any means, but I'll tell you what I do. Everyone else is more than welcome to offer suggestions for modifcations or changes

Monday & Wendsday - Swim (45-60 minutes) and run 3-4 miles
Tuesday & Thrusday - spin class 1 hour (teacher is an Ironman and works us hard)
Friday - floating excersie depending on how I feel (Yoga, strength, run and/ or swim)
Saturday - long bike outside - usually 30-70 miles
Sunday - rest

For weeks with a Sprint Tri on Sunday - I take Saturday as my rest day but pretty much leave the rest as is. I haven't done any longer races yet.

On my second week of training for my first sprint triathlon. My training schedule seems to be a bit too easy for my level of fittness. Can anyone suggest a good 8 week training program for a sprint tri?

WOW, everyone is soooo busy! Jealous this week as it's week 2 of tapering for my first Oly distance tri this Saturday. Today I did a 45 minutes swim, nothing too stenous. Of course not exercising at such a high intensity has me nothing but worried.

I've been an exercising machine this week. Yay!!! It's summer~time for me. I could retire and live this life year round. :)

Swimming = 2000-3000 Meters every day this week.
Running = 4-6 miles every day this week
Biking = Not so good yet... 2 times on the INDOOR trainer. Hahaha... There was a great article about indoor trainers that I'll post.

Your workouts yesterday sound fun!

Today is a rest day. I slept in until 7am!! Then tomorrow I am doing a practice race on the course for the triathlon that I'm donig next weekend. It looks like several of us will then tack on an extra 20-30 miles of riding afterward.

Enjoy your ride and golf!!

Yesterday was emoticon . I met a friend at the pool and we swam close to 3000 M. She is just amazing and very sweet.

Then last night was Day 1 of our walk / run club. My co~workers and I are going to try to walk Tuesdays / Thursdays at the park. Only 1 other woman showed up, but it was fine and actually very fun.

Today I am hoping to get in a bike ride, and then DH and I are going golfing.

Great workout Kim. I have not tried Chi Running, so I can't help you out there but I know a lot of people that really like it. emoticon

Good morning! Got a 65 minute spin class in this morning - although it felt harder than normal this morning. Also watched (and followed along with the exercises) the Chi Running video.

Has anyone tried Chi Running or have any thoughts on it?
