Thanks for all the comments. You guys are the best. I think I will do a couple of sprints this summer, and then plan for a couple of HIM distances next year - with one of them being an 'm-dot' next year.

I can guarantee you the next one will be a lot flatter.

As for my sunburn, it was bad enough that I went to see a dermatologist the day after I got home.

As a reminder - May is skin cancer awareness month!!!!

Congratulations on finishing, and especially on raising so much money! Not sure I'll ever do a HIM, but it's something I really want to do.

Get some aloe on that sunburn.

I was tracking tri pro, Lindsey Corbin there. That is her favorite event as well! Seems anyone that has done that race LOVES it!

Congrats on completing it and raising so much money for it. Perfect blend of opportunity!

Wow! Fantastic. What an accomplishment. And how great that you raised all that research money.

Just about a week ago, I was getting ready to wake up and getting ready to do the long course (70.3) at the Wildflower triathlon in CA.

It was an incredible experience to be part of. Close to 8000 participants, and about 25.000 spectators around Lake San Antonio.

- it was my first open water swim, except for a couple of practice swims the days up to the event. Water 61 degrees (thank goodness for neoprene)
- the bike course - hot and hilly
- the run ... my group called it the death march ... was trails and more up than down hills.
However, it was one incredible experience. I did not win any age groups, but I did push some personal (physical) limits.

I also managed to get some real bad sunburn on my shoulders, although I did use sun screen, but apparently not enough - and it is difficult to apply in certain areas when you are wearing a singlet.

Best of all - this event raised $1.3 million for the leukemia and lymphoma society. I raised $9000 which made me the fifth highest fundraiser.
