That sounds like so much fun! And sounds like it is right up your alley too. Have a blast, and definitely post about it -

Yes, go for it! I did an off-road duathlon last year and it was really fun. Not much different than a regular race - just more bumpy!

It takes courage to grow up and turn out to be who you really are.

You absolutely should do it, and don't forget to post about it.

If you are more of a mountain biker and trail runner, I'd say got for it. It sounds like it's right up your alley! Plus, Placid is a great place for a race. My husband did hid first Ironman there.

Anybody done one of these? I'm thinking about doing an Xterra race (Swim/mtn.bike/trail run) this August.

I did my first "regular" tri last year (IronGirl, sprint distance) and really enjoyed it. I'm more of a mountain biker than a road biker though (actually used my mtn. bike for the road bike leg of the IronGirl!), and I love trail running, so I thought an off-road tri might be a good fit for me.

Any experiences or advice you could share would be fantastic. I'm specifically looking into the Xterra off-road tri in Lake Placid, NY. www.triandduit.com/xterralakeplacid/
