The best non food reward is the feeling of achievement. I can't buy it on any level. Things don't do it for me. I guess, it is the stage of life that I am in; being a grandmother and all.

Mind you, clothes would have done it for me big time back in the day when I was a younger.

I lost a ton of weight once upon a time and I shopped till I dropped. The weight loss was short lived but what an experience. For the most part, it was so hard to beleive that I was in this body.

My favorite non-food reward is clothes shopping. I love finally being able to find clothing in my size, even if it's still in the plus-size store. I love finally tossing something out because it isn't a good color on me, rather than it just looking like complete crap because I am too darn big for the style. When I hit my ultimate goal weight/body fat percentage, I plan on surprising my sweetie with a tropical vacay to celebrate my new svelt bod! I have lots of little wins planned along the way (e.g.- when I lose 1lb to reach my 60lbs down mark, I am finally gonna buy myself something fro Etsy), but these are the two I am most excited about.

Cleaning out my closet of all the larger sizes!!
Donating them to the local shelter. It makes
me feel good to not only clean out some things
but hopefully someone else can use them.

Probably a better idea for the ladies, but I like to get a manicure or pedicure. It's really nice to get get to do something to make me feel pretty and special.

I'm also crafty so I'm looking for knitting patterns in size XL. I'm saving up so when I'm closer to my goal weight I'll buy enough luxury yarn to make a really nice garment. It's always been too expensive as a 4XL!
I also got a voucher for Collectif clothing at Christmas. When I've hit the halfway mark I'm buying a fabulous dress!

I don't know about you, but I'm low on funds, so I try to find cheap rewards. In general, I'll do at-home spa days as rewards pretty often, because those are easy. I'm also a crafty person, so I've started a scrapbook, and for every 10 pounds lost, I'm making a new page. I've also set up rewards with other people, such as having my bf be my chauffeur for a day or having a friend take nice photos (practicing to be a photographer!). For big rewards, I'm planning on shelling out a little money. For instance, new jeans (whenever the ones I have won't stay up - I'm not aiming for a particular number), a new swimsuit when I finally feel comfortable enough for a two piece, and a bicycle, maybe when I hit 50 pounds lost.

I pick out a website with fabulous pricey clothing and make an entire outfit and give a pound value to each item. My current obsession is http://www.pinupgirlclothing.com/ and I'm working towards putting together an amazing dress-shoes-hair-makeup combination for my birthday look in June : )

Last week I went on a mini-shopping spree in reward of loosing 50lbs and needing to replace the jeans that kept falling off my new slimmer physique :) I have a series of rewards set up along the path: something small every 10lbs, a little bit of a nice present to self for every 25lbs, something sizeable for 50lbs, and something I've "always" wanted for every 100lbs.

New clothes! From the regular size departments! Woohooooo!

Tattoos at various stages. A new tattoo at goal. Looks like maybe mid-May!

When I lost 100 pounds, a trip to Maui, baby! Awesome, but careful, I always regain on vacations. I named my new bulge my "Maui belly."

I get into a rut with my make-up so my reward is to buy a new shade of lipstick for every 5 lbs, which takes me a long time. It picks up my spirits to see a new look in the mirror.

I am rewarding myself with silly little things like Betty Boop socks which I earned today and the next thing I am working for is a t-shirt. Both are of a valentine bent but can be worn at any time and I got them because they were 75%off. I was not rewarding myself at all before and I had fun this week earning my socks. It will take me at least 2 weeks for the tshirt and then I will have to see what else I can come up with.

I am enjoying the 'buzz' of going shopping in my old clothes that are fitting again! But, I am also rewarding myself with new workout dvd's, workout equipment (hello balance ball), and the such! My next reward is a heart rate monitor, and I am kinda excited about that!

The power to change, the courage to do, the will and drive to be exceptional lies within me, and by leaving my fears, my doubts, and my excuses behind, I embrace all that lies within me.

we all need to reward ourselves for achievements. These have often been full of calories so it's a case of finding things which give us the same buzz. What have people found that does this?
I was able to buy a belt yesterday, the biggest in the shop, marked XXL/XXXL, but it went round and did up on the last hole. I have a new thing to track my progress and will eventually have the "reward" of replacing it, win-win I think!
