We got home after midnight last night, a very long two day trip! I wrote a blog on it, with pictures, so check that out. We did see lots, although I was disappointed that there was so much snow on top of all the water. They got eight inches of new snow the day we arrived, so we didn't get to see all the water we wanted to!

Hi Cassie, how was your Jamestown meeting? did everything go smoothly, do you love the new motor home? Did you see the flooding along your trip? The interesting side effect of joining Spark people....and OP specifaically has been the global awareness aspect - I have never known anything about North Dakota or its rivers etc...and now im always asking clients about if and sharing and looking it up on line, it's truly been a possitive experience in that it is making other places in the world seem both closer and Im more aware of things going on. I bet you will be glad to get home, let me know how your adventure panned out. Luv, ***SNOW***

Kits, thanks for the link. It helped to make us change our plans. The truck driver is willing to bring it farther west, and we will now be meeting him in Jamestown, which is not along the Red River.

I imagine it will still be wet, but not nearly as bad as being in the flood zone at the height of the cresting.

Funny how the weekend we plan to get it would be like this!

Thanks everyone for the help.

I found this link for you. Don't know if it tells you what you want to know. I didn't read it. Just saw that it's supposed to crest there in 3 days.

Long night doing the page, had a brain fart...so sorry. I just recalled the Camper Quest being what you are doing...getting your new Motor Home and bringing it back.....Does it float? Be safe.

Hi Cassi, Us folks in California are pacing around the Deck....getting worried at times, very nervous..... good luck and God be with you. I pray for your safe journey, that nature cuts you a break and lets you move forward on your trip....is this a vacation? It sounds like something that should be on the discovery channel--- you are in our thoughts...... ***snow***

I have been online, and it doesn't look very good. Apparently there is a bridge about 8 miles south of Grand Forks that is higher and wider, and should be okay, even if all the other bridges are shut down.

I just was hoping that someone who actually lived in the area could tell me more as the week goes on. We leave here on Friday, and will be there on Saturday.

Fargo has been on the news here but I haven't heard anything about Grand Forks. That's not to say it's not flooded there. I just haven't heard them talk about it. Sorry I can't be of more help. I would think you could go online and search Grand Forks and maybe there would be some information.

I knew Fargo was in danger, I didn't realize Grand Forks was as well (I used to live there as a child...dad was USAF). Wish I had some help for you, hope the trip goes well!

We are heading in that direction for next weekend, and just wondering what the flood situation is. From the graphs on the internet, it looks like we will arrive around the peak of the flood.

We are going to be meeting a trucker who is delivering a fifth wheel camper to that point for us (it becomes very expensive to truck into Canada, so that's why we are meeting him there).

Anyways, if there is anyone who can give me a little direction on the best way to avoid being swept into the Red River, I'd love to hear from you!
