Thank you Carol, for the information about the pts/ calories.

Yeah, I have been logging in on SP and it usually runs some where in the 1300 cal. range.

Thanks again!

LJKSHS--

You really can't state a specific number of calories for points per day since a point can equal anywhere (that I've seen, anyway) from 10 to 60 calories each, plus there are calories attached to the 0-point fruits and vegetables, too. It will really depend on your food choices.

When PointsPlus started, I logged my food intake for 29 points into the SparkPeople tracker and my average was about 1450 calories a day, right within the range that SparkPeople said I needed to have daily to lose weight.

Overall, I don't worry how many calories I take in when I'm counting points.

That is interesting - Think I will see what happens if I eat more than just my 29 pts+ (I have a hard time getting to that) - so I think I will plan on eating more.....

I use mine or I don't lose. That might have to change once I get lower in weight but right now if I don't use them I either maintain or gain.

Liz - when I do get it - I can finish the pint that evening. emoticon

The other "sugary" junk that gets me - which I walked away from yesterday - is Red Twizzlers - if I start the 1lb bag it is usually gone within 24 hours...

There are a few things that hold me back from buying it

1 - I'm working on staying away from sugar
2 - I want to be down by 7-10 lbs by 6/8/11
3 - It's not on sale --- emoticon
4 - I don't have a coupon for it -- emoticon

I guess, in some way, I'm lucky I don't have to buy that stuff - sugary or salty - and keep it in the house for someone else - I live alone - unless I am having a bbq or party, then it goes out the door w/guests when they leave

I'm still new at this so I don't know if I can use some of them and still lose; I've already found that I can't use them all and still lose. So now I'm trying to use my activity points and not my weekly points to encourage myself to workout as much as possible...we'll see how that goes.

I'm lucky if I get to my 29 pts+ - and that is not happening....

maybe I need to eat a pint of Haagen Daz ChocoChocoChip ice cream and I'll get there --- LOL~~~~ emoticon

My thinking is that if you need them because you are hungry then go ahead, however, I don't think making a habit of it is good....

I have been trying to figure out what works for me.

If I use all the extra pts... I gain

If I use 1/2of them...I lose .2 or .4

This week I just used my 29 pts and I lost 1.4

So I guess I will try and stick to the 29 pts a day. emoticon

I'm terrible about tracking on the weekends and I am sure I dip heavily into them during Fri, Sat and Sunday. During the week days I try not to use more than one or 2.

I've got this.

I use all or most of them every week. They help me feel like this is less of a "diet" and more of a lifestyle change. I occasionally dip into the activity points, too, if I need them.

As long as I track accurately and don't go over my available points, I usually see some kind of loss every week.

Yes I think it's okay to use them. I do think that it's best to find what works for you as an individual and do that. I always had to eat a portion of my APs in order to lose but if I had too many APs then I couldn't eat them all because I wouldn't lose as much. It's all about finding what works for you and your body.

Take Care and God bless,
