I am in physical therapy this month for my back. Last week I felt good enough to get 3 sessions of Callanetics in, not too much this week. But house cleaning counts so I am still moving, and that is what is important!

Mixed it up today, added some strength exercises to the Callanetics, you can check my workout routine @ my tracker. Did upper can core today, will do hips back, inner thighs tomorrow!

Legs hips and inner thighs, , I added lying adductions to the routine. You are welcome to check my tracker to see how I am putting this together.

This is the second week of mixing it up and today is Oct 21, Today I did the first half of super Callanetics add ing in pushups and one armed pushups to the mix. ! arm p/u sounds like all that but it really isnt, you sit on your hip and put all your wieght on that side arm , it works differently that a 2 arm and still does not put much stress on your back.

I have to apologize for not posting sooner but I have been out walking and training Dixie every day ..almost for a week now. \i tell you what rolling in a manual wheel chair is a good work out for core and upper body :) For legs I have been walking behnd the wheel chair until my back starts up or hills.. ouw my arms :) I am going to blog about our adventures in training when I get a nice picture to go with it.

We went to a little strip mall about a mile down the road twice this week. We walked up and down the side walk and theres a bus terminal there, really small, with airconditioning inside and single doors, but they are handicap enabled so Dixie learned about electric doors. The ones that slide sideways infront of strores kind of freak her out right now but I am sure, once familiar it will be no different than anything else we encounter. :)

Ok dont want to bore you too much on our little adventures, just very proud of my big drooly goof.

Hope you all have had an active week :)

Walked and wheelchaired 1.4 miles today. Dixie did great! One freakout point was when she had to pass by a ciclist and his bike, other than that, we were buzzed by big trucks, had dogs running at the street barking and she did great!! YAY... I tell you what tho, thats ahell of a workout, try pushing yourself in a wheelchair, lets just talk flat not even a hill..lol can't do hills with my weak arms.

We had tornado watches in our area yesterday, so I did a lot of walking in and out of the house getting prepared to lose everything and put what would needed for a day or two in the cellar with us. After all that we have seen in the last few days in the Granbury TX and Moore OK tragedies, we got more prepared than we usually do.

We were very happy to see our house still standing when we came out of the cellar. Everyone in north east Texas was very lucky this time. We are all safe and still have our homes as far as I know.

Hugs,
Charlie

Wow, you two are really doing great!!! emoticon

I am celebrating the fact that I think I have finally broken the plateau I have been in since Feb. 18, 2013 and that I have lost 1 whole inch in my belly.

I have never lost there first! I'm not sure which exercise did it but I do 400 Callanetics Crunches 3 days a week along with other upper and lower body exercises at my Ladies Gym.

Hi y'all,

I have been helping our daughter this week get ready to move. Repairing things and packing. Today we start the moving. At home I have been repainting my guest bath room. So, I skipped going to the Gym on Mon. but I made it on Wed. Going there has really helped me stay on track with Callanetics and I love that.

I tried out the Elliptical Machines for the first time Wed. and I loved that too. I could only do 10 minutes but, my heart rate was up to 155 and it was so easy on the knees. The back of my calves are a little sore so, I'm guessing it's from the Elliptical.

I plan to go to the Gym today but, we have to move things today also, we shall see if I can work it in.

Hugs
Charlie

Today I did Burn Circuit 3 of Turbo Jam X-Treme which took about 32 mins. I also walked 4 miles with Leslie Sansone for 59 minutes and in the afternoon, we had a Tai Chi luncheon (annual event) and we demonstrated what we had learned (did the exercises for about 45 minutes.)

I agree Yiche, the only problem is my back will not allow me to go like I want to. on 4/18 I did get a mile walk in, YAY me! on 4/17 a much shorter walk. This week has had lots of storms up our way so not moving too much, but if i can get a walk in then I feel I have accomplished SOMETHING. Today I believe I am going to try to get something done, just not sure what yet :) I am hurting when I stand for much longer then 5 minutes so maybe be Callentics or some other mat workout. Will update laterz.... Have a Great Day!
Ended up doing 3 miles with leslie, that was a big deal :)

My reel mower is a newer one, turns several revolutions to one movement, yeah kind of like vacuming, not quite as bad as mopping. I take breaks when my back starts hurting too much. One thing is certain, if you stop moving arthritis can totally stop you.

I have heard of carb and calorie cycling. The best I have ever done on a low cal diet was picking one day a week for a free day. During that day I could have ANYTHING I wanted. Of course from eating small amounts during the week I could not eat a lot but I had all sorts of goodies, and this kept me on my diet during the week because Sunday was just a few days away.

As far as carb cycling I havent really tried it yet, from my understanding you are to eat lchf 2 days and hclv 1 day. I have a problem facing the low fat day, gotten accustomed. but thinking about trying it.

REALLY Suzy, a push reel mower! That is some good exercise but, with your back. Isn't that like sweeping or mopping on your back?

Lise, you are just more adventurous than me. I guess I'm kinda boring, cause I do the ones I know and they are really standard.

Have y'all ever tried or heard of Calorie or Carb Cycling? I have been eating way to few calories (less than 1200) for way to long, so I have a real slow metabolism now. So I'm trying to get my calories up and still eat healthy. I'm learning about the Cycling and it's not easy for me.

What Is A Calorie Cycling Diet?

Calorie Cycling diet is also known as calorie-based rotational diet, calorie shifting diet and zig zag diet.

Unlike a normal low calorie diet that requires you to eat low calorie meals everyday, the Calorie Cycling diet is a diet that requires you to "cycle" your nutritional intake daily or occasionally. Why is this so?

This is because according to some research reports, when a person is constantly taking in a very low nutritient, his body will automatically be alerted that he is insufficient of food, thus his body will digest less food and burn less calorie so that it can store more energy for future use.

Tai Chi is a slow form of martial arts. You may have seen some people doing this in movies at times. A lot of the time, it is done by the older Chinese generation but it is for everyone. I've been doing this since 2004 or 2005. I love it. Now Taebo is a fast moving method of exercising which includes kick boxing and punching. Billy Blanks is the founder of this form of exercising. It's effective.

Yesterday (Saturday), I walked for about 85 mins and in the evening I did a session Burn Circuit 3 (under Turbo Jam X-treme). Today, I walked for 29 minutes with Leslie Sansone and did a Turbo Jam Burn It Off session for 28 mins. Then I did the AM Callanetics.

I did, and it does help the scatia down thelegs I have noticed. I might have over done it going to far back yesterday so today I have done slight inclines and I almost fall asleep, feels good. We'll see, I have read its supposed to help energize all your joints carledge discs ect so if nothing else I hope I am helping whats there. Another article said it was possible to regenerate disamated discs, I dont know about all that, as long as it feels good to use it I will continue. Doing the third session before bed.

I hope everyone has had a GREAT day :)

Lise, what is Tai Chi ? I have never tried Taebo either.

Suzy, did you get your 2nd sessions on the inversion table yesterday? I guess that helps your spine as well as gives you a break from gravity. I bet that feels good!

Awww thats so sad about Mollie, hope you adopt another fur baby when you feel you can. The Ladies gym sounds awesome and I am so glad you found someone to walk with :)
I am trying to get my Callanetics done today but just really tired for some reason :)

Well I did finally get my Callanetics done today, also tried an inversion table for a few minutes. I noticed there was a limit my back was able to put up with so I will work with that, I read tonight that it can e very beneficial to the disc pinching and the arthritis as well, so we'll see I will try anything :)

You two are doing Fantastic!!!

I'm starting to get with it, on Monday the 8th I joined a local Ladies only Gym so maybe it would give me the motivation to exercise. I didn't have to sign a contract and I have already been twice. It also gives me a reason to get out of the house.

The great thing about it is, both times I've only seen 1 or 2 ladies there for about 15 minutes of the time I was there. So, I've basically got the place to myself and I can do my Callanetic
warm ups and the stretches to cool down plus the ab crunches as well. I'm loving it so far!

Things are looking up! Two of my friends have finally decided they need to walk so for now I have some walking buddies again. Suzy, I don't have a dog to walk with any more. One of the cows kicked her in the head while she was herding them a couple of years ago. I sure miss Mollie.

Hugs,
Charlie

Today I will do a Taebo workout for about 45 mins. Afterwards, I will do the 20 minute PM Callanetics. The latter really makes me relax for the evening.

I really have to get back to Callanetics. Although I have done other types of exercises, Callanetics works and works fast so I need to get to do these on a regular basis. Today, I was out food shopping and felt too tired to exercise later on.

emoticon I spent 3 and 1/2 hours cleaning out 3 horse stalls.
I put it in the fitness tracker as Farm Work: general and it said that I burned 1404 calories. I find that hard to believe because I have only had 1034 calories so far today and It's late now.
