While I'm not much for the gym (I feel a bit too much like a hamster on a wheel) I truly LOVE walking. I can pop on the iPod, jam on some tunes, and before you know it I have been cruising on my feet for a hour and have to MAKE myself head for home so my hubby can leave for his third-shift job. The problem is REMEMBERING that I love it. Once I get started, I remember how much I enjoy it, but remembering or motivating myself to do it at all is the hard part. What I have learned is that since I generally work nights, I need to change into my walking clothes ASAP and get out there AS SOON as I get home. No lollygagging. If my butt hits that couch, I'm done for. So I have learned to head straight for my tennis shoes as soon as I walk in the door (maybe a pee break first, lol, but that's it!).

Let your soul take you where you long to be!!!

My motivation comes from watching my closet shrink. When I put something on that has not fit in along time feels wonderful! I also tend to be competetive and join challenges on other teams for things such as who can walk the most steps during a month playing a particular game and find that helps me to keep moving.

So I am relatively new here, and I love it!

I got to thinking, we could inspire each other more if we all knew what helped each other to get out there and get some exercise in!

Every day I take pictures on my walk. It is AMAZING to see how everything changes from day to day. I post the pics to my blog to try and get others to look at the beauty around them on their walks too. It is so much better when you make it an artistic adventure, instead of trudging through exercise.

I also post a "Song That Rocked My Walk?" It is that song that pops up on your mp3 player when you are walking that puts more wiggle in your walk or the one you have to listen to 5 times because it is ROCKIN' YOUR WALK!

What do you do?
